I just love how the dancers are shouting at the end of ON. They said that the started cheering BTS on because the were exhausted at the end of the choreo. And they did it every performance.
They did this live eg singing and dancing live at Grand Central Station New York for the Jimmy Fallon Show. but then they've done it for Award Show's as well. Live singing, Rapping while dancing. It's just what they do, having seen them live at Wembley Stadium with 60,000 other people they are fecking amazing. They do this for nearly 3hours only get small breaks when they break down into their sub units eg the 3 Rapper or the 4 vocals or the odd solo. They are full energy output never a dull moment at a BTS concert.
Can I just say that Jakes hair never disappoints. I mean I love when his hair is curly but straight hair Jake hits different!!! He looks TF GOOD!!!
The choreography for "ON" is by Sienna Lalau from The Lab in L.A. She's also the first close up we get in the music video. Pretty sure most of those dancers are from The Lab, too.

I usually don't comment about stuff, but rap in another language than english is smth very common and is beautiful when it's done well.
I don't understand this idea that people just expect rap to be just in English
At no point did Jake say that at all. HE just PERSONALLY is not used to it yet which is VERY fair because he does not personally enjoy rap anyway even in English and considering raps roots which are east coast American which is very particular it takes some getting used to.

Totally agree on Tae bringing character to his dancing even if technically 3J would have an edge. Tae and Jimin both have the most lyrical and performance oriented dancing to me. Their movements translate the feeling behind the music really well and it's eye-catching
You not liking rap it’s ok. But the comment about it not being in English didn’t sit well with me, that doesn’t make any sense. Here in Brazil we say that Rap is “Poetry and Rhythm”, poetry is something universal.
Edit: it’s ok that he doesn’t like rap in Korean, but what I understood from his comment was that rap shouldn’t be done in other languages, just in English.
i mean, i don’t see how poetry is necessarily a universal language. the entire point is understanding the text, the metaphors etc. and you can’t fully understand it if you don’t speak the language. i also can understand the discomfort since the culture of hip hop is just so different from the culture of k-pop. ETA: he also never said it was WRONG of them to rap, just explained his own feelings.
@arianesaldanhaa I feel the same way. And this is no disrespect to Jake, but I am a black American and I never understood the gatekeeping of rap. Like you basically said, rap is basically poetry or spoken word set to rhythm and music. I think people confuse hip-hop, which is more of an American cultural thing, and rap music which is not the same. Saying the comment about it not being in English because you know where it comes from would also mean that no one outside of black Americans should ever do it, including British rappers.
@@horizonkyun7203 hi, I think you misunderstood what I said. Poetry is universal in a sense that people all over the world do it. What I understand of his comment in the video was him saying that rap that’s is not in English is pointless. That is what I don’t agree with, it’s ok if he doesn’t like rap, but to me it sounded like he was saying since rap was created by Americans it should only be done in English. And I agree with what you’re saying, a lot is lost in the translation, so shouldn’t everybody have rap songs in their own language to appreciate the beauty of it?

It's better to watch the MVs than dance practices because the outfits they wear helps you see them apart. Then practices later when you can tell whos who.

You need to watch the mvs for Black Swan and ON:KInetic Manifesto to really appreciate what the practice led up to. Please try to go with the flow with the rap parts. I really am not a fan of rap but the three rappers in BTS are something else. Don't worry about the meaning of the words, although going to Doolset Lyrics and getting a good translation of them is always worth it, just listen to the flow and enjoy the different styles of J-Hope, Yoongi and RM. Taehyung stands out as a dancer because he makes unique shapes with his body as he moves but he hasn't quite got the skills of J-Hope, Jimin and JK although he is part of the dance line now. SUGA is also a very good dancer but isn't part of the dance line. RM and Jin only look a little less accomplished because they are surrounded by dancers on a different level to most others in the business.
you need to show him On live !! I think he'd like a Grandiose dance, so maybe Not today but i'd do a live version like during their speak yourself tour maybe (lots of dancers), i don't know if he'd like RUN Bts but probably the choreo ! Maybe if u feel up to a solo dance, set me free pt2
Mhm if its performance based there's so many to recommend. Mby like Fake Love, Idol, BS&T, or even an award performance like mma 19 (dioniysis, with the multiple members representing elements in the intro - honestly was and still is so beautiful) or like idol mma 18?
There aren't many "new" group performances, but i def think Jake would like Set Me Free pt2 and Standing Next To You by Jimin and Jungkook

I used to like this channel nd the initial reactors who were objective nd praised true drancers for dance but then taekook solo started fighting in comments nd then these reactors came. I even someone who is not even contemporary dancer but pointing out flaws after flaws in jm's bs performance but saying V is insanely good dancer nd never finds any flaw in him. The amount of comments dismissing Taehyung's dance skills and appeal is insane. Jimin is an amazing dancer and performer but people need to respect others reactions and 1st impressions.Taehyung in Black Swan dance practice with baggie clothes, no make-up and just a bandana, catches the eyes because his movements are fluid and he has a very intense aura. He stands out among the others without showing his handsome face. Fire and Idol are dances where Jimin stands out more. In the MV Jimin is given a solo dance where he can shine more. The MAMA 2019 solo dance from Jimin is the most beautiful thing I've seen outside of World of Dance. But I definitely notice Taehyung the most in this dance practice.
Every member in the black swan dance practice is wearing no make-up and comfortable clothes and are not worried about their handsome face. Jimin is a main dancer and he stands out in every choreography bts does. You noticing V in the black swan dance practice is just a personal preference so if the majority of others prefer JIMIN it is also a personal preference and Jimin stands out regardless of if he has a solo moment or not. Black Swan is contemporary which is Jimin's element so saying he stands out more in fire and idol more does not make any sense.

Black swan dance practice is NOT the one to watch dance practice, you miss all of Jimin. plus that dance is beautiful. Same with ON.as a old dancer, I'm telling you, watch the MV's. esp with new people.
in Black swan MV the only one who is being shown in dancing is Jimin, this man wants to see all of them dancing so he can see and differentiate them apart. Ofc, he should be shown the mv too but it's important to show them the dance practice because that way he can focus on the steps better than in the mv

Taehyung will always catch people's eyes. He's not professionally trained like the rest of the dance line but he's the most enjoyable to watch because he always puts personality into his moves and dance. Which is why those in the comments who are trying to dismiss Jake's specific mention of Taehyung bcus he's not professionally trained are weird. Maybe you could let Jake react to Singularity?

I’m not even sure I’d place jk behind jhope and jimin anymore, quite honestly (and I’m saying this as a jimin bias). Jk really nailed down his own dance style during the solo era and like, leveled up his performing. He has become so good. I’d say 3J are all on pretty equal footing now, each with their own very unique style, and that’s so cool!
But yes, V is very solidly fourth!

@@ssev4026 I mean, I certainly did see tae’s dance challenge. I watch all the dance content; I am a former dancer too so it is my favorite. Tae is awesome! And art is subjective so your opinion is valid, but dancing is a lot more than just swag. I’m taking into account technical skill, things like clean isolations, control of spins, and the general ability to execute difficult moves. V never had formal training for stuff like that, while 3J all have. So I stand by my ranking, but V is very fun to watch.

@@Koko3opit makes sense to me, I can appreciate the technically better dancers when they're on the screen but Tae dances like he's feeling himself and the song. It's got a vibe of dancing WITH the audience instead of FOR the audience to me, if that makes sense, and that's appealing in a different way! I can definitely see strict professional dancers wanting to yell at him to tighten up lol

Yeah, I had the exact opposite reaction to kpop, lol. All of the BTS and girl group stuff I'd heard before was so "sweet" and light and I'm just not that girl. My dtr was playing a lot kpop when she was having a difficult time in her life and I'd watch whatever video she put before me. I just didn't like it, lol. But then I heard Changbin at the beginning of Thunderous and I was like, "they have rap in kpop?' They're the reason I like any kpop now.
Also, the older I get the more I need music that pumps me up. I need something that gives me the energy to get up and workout or clean out fridge 😂.
I love BTS, and I if I heard Boy With Luv first, I might not be the fan I am. Check out Agust Ds work. RMs Monster. The Cyphers 1-4. UGH! BTS has a whole rapline that can bring the hype.
@@bethb.4540 I do like BTS 's solo work. I like Suga's energy and style when it comes to rap. And JK has had a stranglehold on the charts so it's impossible to not like at least one of his songs. It's just, as a grp, I haven't liked much of their work.
That's fair, but they have over 200 songs and span so many genres it's hard to put them in a box. Their Western, English hits are some of my least faves, tbh. I have to be in the mood for their slower songs. MIC Drop, Run BTS, Baepsae, UGH, Come Back Home are more my speed and slap hard.
You haven't listened to the rap heavy BTS songs then.
@@LisaMT1218 this is true. After I listened to snippets of like 3 songs, I decided they weren't for me. I have wanted to give them another chance since I do like Suga, JK and V so much, but I just keep putting it off. I do like Run BTS (I think that's the one since there's 2 songs by that name in their discography). That's definitely more my speed. Yet, I haven't followed up with more listens 🤷🏿♀️
