Hi, I was wondering out of the three systems which one is the most profitable. And as a follow up which one is the best in terms of accurate measurements
Nice video! So to my understanding, with the Theta Z1, I can do just 360 Virtual Tours, but if I wanted to do RMS measurements and floor plans +3D model, I would need to purchase the Planix as well?
So it all depends! You can also use the Z1 for a photogrammetric 3D tour with Matterport, Cupix or Pivo, and then get the RMS floor plans with Cubicasa. These are not the only 3 ways to get those done, have you tried Cubicasa for floor plans? If you have a phone or iPad with LiDAR it’s especially accurate
Matterport now offers an option in the app while scanning to reposition a misplaced scan. This migth some of the mentioned troubles. With the Matterport Pro2 the quality of the pictures is way better than with the Ricoh Z1. We did some field testing and the results will come in shortly: th-cam.com/users/postUgkxddEnK3YpCmqr2R-h0R5t0Flc-0yVvvNl
I'm just starting out in 360 photography.I know that I will be purchasing a Theta Z1 for sure for Zillow. If you were to have to choose between the Matterport and iGuide platforms which would you choose? I would like to eventually offer both options to clients. Starting out though I'm only going to be able to get either the Matterport camera or the iGuide.
The Theta Z1 can be used for both platforms, but it’s not something I would pop in and out of the iGuide, it’s really better to have a dedicated camera for the Planix system. If you just start off with the Z1 you can do all three, but if you go the Matterport route it’s worth it eventually to invest in a Pro2. Zillow will be offering floor plans again pretty soon so maybe hold off until you have had some experience shooting the Zillow tours and trying the Z1 for Matterport. How important are floor plans to you?
Very informative. Thank you. I shoot with the Theta z and am looking at either iguide or MP. How long would you say the post processing is on the iguide Planix?
The post-processing is longer with iGuide for sure, but not by much. The difference is the fidelity and the 3D, they are so hard to compare, really, but I am glad I have the Planix. If you need a tour + floor plans the Planix is great, but if you need just floor plans that's another story and I'll do a video on that soon!
Hopscotch Interactive thanks for the reply. One last thing. I thought the iguide would put together the 360 for you (for a fee I’m sure). Do you do that or just build the 360 tours yourself?
@@Duffmedia there is a software program called Stitch that you need to upload to before you can process the data, so while you’re not manually stitching like in PTGui you are able to make adjustments to the white balance and all sorts of micro adjustments. These are all optional. It’s also possible to simply upload to stitch and then to process. Yes there are tiered fees depending on the square footage and the type of tour (level of detail) that you order!
Is there a part 2? I do not see it on your channel Thanks for the content.
Thank you for this video 🙏
You’re welcome and I’m so glad you found it helpful.
