Oh man, I love music like this. Music like A Lot Like Birds, Circa Survive, The Fall of Troy and Dance Gavin Dance are my favorite. Followed closely by all manner of Metalcore bands. I'm only half way through the first song and I can already tell they're an amazing band. Plus, A Lot Like Birds recommended them haha, so I guess it's safe to say I'm going to buy what they have via Itunes. And their lead vocals are done by their drummer? What? What skill haha! Takes a lot of breath control.
This was so far ahead of my music preference at the time. I was still hung on DTBMII. Interesting how tastes develop later in life. Quality music Donovan. I always admired your vocal abilities and coordination.

This is much closer to Dance Gavin Dance. Literally the only similarities are that Donovan has a similar tone and it's the same genre of music.
It's similar to dance gavin dance in over feel and tone, but the melodies sound like something that Anthony Green might write. And besides that, it sounds a whole lot closer to the Fall of Troy but with a better singer. Dance Gavin Dance is a little bit less insane and more just groove, where as this doesn't always even have a groove.

fifth song is about drugs and doctors who prescribe too much, towards the end donovan talks about losing his patience, which is a play on words because the doctor he is referring to would also be losing his ‘patients’
