I was taught in Vedic maths

Sir I have done this with by Converting this equation in logarithmic one
And get x>17root7
Then by putting natural number just after this (45) I get y=1 .
Then I put x= 46, 47 ,48 ....
But 2 power y is never get equal to the difference of x² -2023 .
This fetch Answer to 45+1 = 46 .
But there are infinite possibilities for x ac to that condition...not possible to check all of them

it's involved in JEE questions once in a while and usually are on tougher side so one who is short on available time can ignore Number Theory
X=45 and y =1 put
Then
45² - 2¹ =2023
x+y =45+1=46 ?

Mthd 1&2 are quite similar and more inclined towards olympiad (maybe)
M-1 :- rule for checking perfect square
x² always in form of 4k or 4k+1
Bonus tip :- (10x+5)² = [100x(x+1)+25] where x is ANY natural number
M-2 :- odd number ka square is always of the form 8k+1
M-3 :- Quadratic pairing
x²-1= 2[2^(y-1) + 1011] ... both sides must have 4 as a factor

as we know 2^y-1 (mod 4) is always 3
from here we can say that
x^2=3(mod 4)
which is clearly not a solution\

i think modulo arithmatic se aasan hota?
x^2 = 2023 + 2^y
mod(x^2) = 0(if even), 1(if odd)
mod(2023+2^y) = (3+0)(y>=2), (3+2),(y=1) = 3(y>=2), 1(y=1)
now only 1 is common from both mods
therefore y = 1 is the only sol correspondent to which x = 45 therefore 46 is the answer

sir hum isko ek function consider karke kar sakthe hai such as yaha x^2-2^y=2023 ha isko resolve karke y=logbase2(x^2-2023) kare phir x^2-2023>=1 waha se we got x must be greatter than 44(strictly greater than 44) is this method correct?
No its not preciously correct. Because here you will get just one condition that is x is greater than 44 but as x belongs to whole natural no. This actually doesn't make much sense as their could be much more pair exist... Here you could either go with instinct and take a risk that would definitely be a dumb choice. Best is to skip this question during exam.
