Way back before this was constructed photographers used to climb up the bank for a good shot. First they tried to stop that happening but now they have made it better with that seating and viewing area.
Having walked to and from the Castle using Dunster stn, and having spent time at Blue Anchor, I agree your shots of the train departing BA (including signal going back to 'stop' and the capstan wheel operating the level crossing's interlocked gates) were among your best to date. Last year in September I briefly saw Val at BA but was too far away in another carriage to introduce myself, as she was on the platform. Ships passing in...
Another little gem .... you can't go wrong with being at Blue Anchor station ... I could see the back of my auntie's house too... A lovely video Mike ... thank you 🙏
Thank you so very much. Perhaps one day you will be allowed to travel on the foot plate and do a video of “how to drive a steam train”. Wouldn’t that be fun. I’m sure the engine drivers know you by now. Best wishes to you both.
Val replying - Ah you can't help but miss the Steam, countryside, fossils, Dunster Beach and everything in this beautiful area. All the Best from us both xx
Back in June of 1994, I was working on the Butlins Camp for Rank Amusements, and on my off days I used to travel from Minehead Station to Bishops Lydyard which was the last stop. Then catch the local bus to Taunton, do some shopping, come back to the point where the train terminated and travel back to Minehead. Brilliant day out.
You can't go wrong with God's Wonderful Railway. Or rather.... "There are two ways of doing things: the Great Western Way or the wrong way." Which Thomas character uttered this phrase?
I think for artistry and clarity this is the best video you have ever made.
Wow! Thank you.
Lovely video.Mike lovely view of the trains from the new picnic area at .Blue Anchor station 😊

As always another great video Mike ,thanks both.
Thank you Terry.
I love your videos Mike. I live fairly close to both SVR and GWSR but you stations with their goods sheds are delightful. Hope to visit soon
The WSR are quite luckily, Minehead, Dunster, Watchet, Williton and BL all have their original goods sheds!

So near yet so far!
Top work as always, really liked the shot of the guard green flagging away and the whole scene at Blue Anchor!
Thank you.
Great as usual Mike😊. Wish we were there, looking forward to our September break now😊
It's good to have something like that to look forward to.

Its a very pleasant location. I enjoy being there.

Only been back a few days but missing the seagulls and the steam already. Many thanks Admiral and Val.

"There are two ways of doing things: the Great Western Way or the wrong way." Which Thomas character uttered this phrase?
I wonder if there was a character called Kelly!
@@ADMIRALSCORNER Yes, but not a steam engine one. The Thomas character who loves being Great Western is a Pannier Tank Engine named Duck.
The Blue Anchor picnic area gives such a commanding view- very enjoyable, relaxing video!
