This is one of the times where a 360 camera would actually make sense!
Great video. This is what I miss about not living in the UK anymore. As a kid my family were always visiting places like the Bluebell railway and the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway. I've never been to Seaton but I ❤ it! Thanks 🙏
Ilike that a electric railway and nice scenery , the weather it,s just like my home country the Netherlands !!
That brought back memories. I rode it as a youngster more than 50 years ago. The route was only half as long then (ending at the road crossing) and the overhead wire wasn't yet functional. The trams all pulled (or pushed) a small 4-wheeled truck with a battery.
I remember those trolleys as I worked at the Racal Electronics factory at Seaton from 1973-79. It looks as if the place where the trams passed each other , alongside the mudflats, was at the bottom of what was the Racal car-park. Many of my colleagues had worked for the previous owners, Airmec, who manufactured electronic test equipment. When they first worked there, the car park was occupied by the platforms of Seaton's station, which had closed during the 1960s.
What a beautiful Tramway and nice scenery. Love it !!! Greetings from Germany !!!
I often watch the webcams but have never visited, so it was great to see the entire line, thank you.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. I have heard of this tramway, but this is the first time that i have seen a video of it running.
That was so cool , really enjoyed the video, so glad this popped up on my youtube recommends.
Great video, lovely scenery, I bet it's great when the sun is shining.
Amaizy Tram. Great Liene to the Nature!😊☝💯💯❣
Great shot, it looks like Hong Kong Tram running on train track
Especially the red one incoming at 10:35
Super. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
thank you so much for presenting this interesting ride along wow very satisfying
Thanks very much, I really enjoyed the ride.😀
WOW!!!!! Nice! I like it! I see this tram for the first time
Beautiful panoramic tramway 👍
Thank you. I hope you enjoyed making that video as much as I enjoyed watching. 21:34 21:34
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much! I often watch the cam at Colyford station because it is so charming. And now I know how long it is. I was in Seaton in 1979 but alas, didn't see much of it since I took ill. If I return, I'll ride this wee tram in a big huge!
It is a lovely trip and the trams are fantastic. The staff are very friendly and informative too.
I watched the live stream of this at that one stop and always wondered where this went, and here it is!
Me too !
Thank you for an exciting trip!!
Great video. I didn’t realise that this line was so long!
Well done for continuing the filming in spite of the British Summer!
Very enjoyable! Good use of spring switches. It's unusual that there are so few road and pedestrian crossings on a line that long.
Excellent video.
I rode this only three weeks ago!
Excellent video !
Narnia called. They want their trolly back.
!Nice video. Super!
Great little line. Particularly liked the part where the super tight radios brought out a pacer impression.
Nice to see the full route - I've just been watching the live feed so far. One question... How does it not derail when passing over points that are not set in its favour !
I believe they are spring loaded. The tram pushes the point over and then it resets after the tram has passed over the point.
@@thewyntoncotelindenheritag8229 Ahhh !... I sorta thunk that's the way it happened, but just wanted confirmation from another viewer. Amazing how this channel is so addictive.
Very enjoyable...
They are looking al little bit like the trams in Hong Kong
I don't notice any exchange of staff or tokens: perhaps there is some sort of RETB, albeit a very rudimentary one? Thank you and good evening
Cool! 😊
I notice the rail points don't need to change at the passing places I'm trying to work that one out.
Me too !
@@andrewmonument8847the points are spring loaded so the tram simply pushes the point across and then it resets once the tram passes over.
Very nice.
Great view of the trip. I often watch the cameras on this line and from what I have seen I'm thinking this was on Car 12. Was hoping for a view of the tram once it reached Colyford to confirm.
I can confirm it was number 12 .
Good, I like your video 👍❤
Super fucking cute this is, even though I question how those teeny tiny little tracks and ties can keep that train going. It kinda looks like a miniature version of Hong Kong trollies which of course are British themselves, so I guess it makes sense these small railroads would have been used in places with limited mobility and within small communities over larger rail.
Those poor people on the upper deck, bet they were soaked. Typical holiday in the UK. I don't miss it one bit. (NZ)
It was a bit rainy and that is why a few times you could see my hand trying to.protect the lense. All part of the great British summer
They're more worried about you touching the (insulated) trolley pole tbh.
For someone accustomed to Arizona's deserts, this is luscious green countryside! And this is a wonderful ride through it. A question out of my curiosity. From about 5 minutes into the ride, are those ponds or a river estuary, to the right, then the left, of the line? Thank you muchly for a great video. It brought back fun memories of the interurban rides I took, as a child, in southwestern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia, back in the late 30's and early 40's (dating myself, there).
The river is the river Axe near to where it emerges into the English Channel.
To the left and right the area is a wetland which is home to numerous bird species. If you look to the left you would be able to view some of the hides for birdwatching and the raised wooden walkways.
nice!! mini-double deck tramways!!
Super. Journey. Thq
Why not extend to seaton junction and connect with the main line?
It's all insulated and someone would have to jump high to touch the live wire.
❤❤❤ Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thanks very much for this trimendous video of the tramcar great to see them again also great to see them in the open top,so a very big thank you to the person who made this trimendous video.
❤
I mean it's only 120 V DC and theres probably more than enough headroom but this open deck combined with OHE still makes me feel uneasy 😅
0:26 Why stopping? 13:58 What starts the level crossing signals? Thank you.
The driver presses a button at the side of the line
@@thewyntoncotelindenheritag8229 Thank you. Button and timer far cheaper than lovvoltage track circuit detection.
What a lovely little tram! I like it. Why are there neutral sections? Or at least signs saying: switch off power. (however no signs saying switch it on again). And I guess all drivers are in contact over the radio, with probably some kind of dispatch telling them whether the next section is free?
Yes , they did use radios .
@@thewyntoncotelindenheritag8229 Ok thanks!
21:21 the end of the line
Well-done showing nothing but the line.
Japanese technology !!!
Are these historic trams ALL open top deck?
Most are. I think they operate 14 trams in total and a few are single deck and fully covered.
No there are 4 single deck enclosed cabin trams too
Is there a risk of electric shock to passengers if they sit next to the trolley pole on the rooftop seats?
No , the pole is insulated and the live wire is far above everyone's head. Someone would need to jump high to touch the wire and then they wouldn't be grounded so they wouldn't recieve a shock. All safe
@@thewyntoncotelindenheritag8229
Thank you for the explanation.
In Japan, it is never permitted for passengers to sit so close to live electrical wires in this way.
Muy bonito.donde queda ése ferrocarril
In South Devon England in a place called Seaton
I find it daring to transport people so close under the overhead wire. How much space is there for a 2m tall person?
The connecting rod is insulated and the wires are surprisingly high. Even a tall person jumping up would find it difficult to touch the cable
@@thewyntoncotelindenheritag8229 Understand. Nice video.

At 18:47 the switching point of rails is not in favour of this train. This is happening at every switching point. How this train is proceeding further ?
The points are spring loaded and are pushed over by the tram. The points automatically then reset once the tram has cleared them. Very simple and effective device.
👌😀👍 ❗
It is the real sound of the tram (electric powered)

In Great Britain, perfectly safe. No danger. Correctly insulated.

Points are spring-loaded and are pushed over by the tram, and then they automatically reset .
@@thewyntoncotelindenheritag8229 Copy, thx.
If it uses tramcars but has a dedicated line and doesn't share trackspace with any road, shouldn't it be called Rail.
The line use to be a standard gauge raii line.
After the line closed it then became a tramline , hence why it runs along the old standard gauge route. It opened purely as a tourist attraction.
@@thewyntoncotelindenheritag8229 I see...It ought to be christened Railroute Tramline in memory of the departed standard gauge.

However, the passengers sit close to the electric cable. That's dangerous, especially because it's raining
