Selling it as a Mcfarlane store exclusive was 💯 percent the right move in my opinion. Considering that the overall production run is probably significantly smaller than most Mcfarlane toys wider retail releases, I can see an argument that the price is justified. Totally agree. I have the DC Direct Animated Series Batwing and that thing sold for about $150 when it came out and now commands exorbitant prices if you can even find it.
I know it's nicer than the SpinMaster 27"Batwing I'm just not convinced that it's $210.00 better. I also like the back of the Spin Master better. I got it coming, but your video (done very well btw.) still hasn't sold me on my purchase.
@Asoka the Geek It really the best $40.00 you'll spend. You just have to stop thinking about it as far as how its set up as intended and its adult collector potential. The 1/6 12" Batman figure with just some slight mods will fit nicely with my 1/6 batmobile I have coming. So thay figure alone sells for $10.00 but replaces a need for me to get the $300.00 Hot Toys version. Hand the McFarlane up as collector art and you can have the Spin Master to bang around with. Worst case? Save your receipt and if you don't like it takenit back to Taeget and get your money back. I've NEVER seen anyone take it back the price/value/playability factor is too high.
Thanks for the detailed review. One of the best things I like about this Batwing or any aircrafts toys/models is that this Batwing has retractable landing gear. That's a neat feature. I don't like aircraft models that can be mounted on a stand for flying display but yet the landing gears are permanently extended out.
I just don't see $250 there. There's barely anything but a base coat of paint on it (and silver, for some reason, instead of black?). If I got it, I would have to re-paint the entire thing and for almost $300, there should be a LOT more detail there. It looks like a prototype piece.
For people who absolutely want something like this in their collection, let McFarlane just charge whatever he wants, as long as he just keeps making stuff like this.. It wont ever be premium, its McFarlane.

The 89 batwing with all the bells and whistles will cost you around 3 grand while this doesn't have all the bells and whistles It's clearly not a toy and is around 250.
i love it but im really glad i bought the spin masters batwing. roughly same size but can fit TWO McFarlane figs. With some paint its gonna look sweeet, all for 39.99
Purchase the “Hazmat” Batman. Remove the oxygen tank off his back. Repaint as desired, the helmet with the oxygen tubes makes it look like he is wearing an Extreme High Altitude Flight/Batman suit. It’s absolutely perfect for the plane.
Man, it is cool. But it's still just a big hunk of plastic with no lights or sounds.... A few more moving parts than I thought. The quality looks pretty good, when you put in the landing gear and took out the flaps... So hopefully it's very sturdy/solid in hand at least for 250 bucks.. Quite a bit more than the hunk a plastic bat mobile that only goals for 60. And, it's all we have...kind of like the 2016 Ghostbusters... at the time. Lol.

Look great! Just wish you would've had a comparison of different Batman figures to see how they scale inside it. Would love to see Mezco BvS Batman and Mezco comic based Batman figures inside it same for DC essential Batman figures and other 6 inch batmanfrom lines like Mafex and Sh Figuarts to see how they scale inside it.

Someone made the comment that this will sell for the $800-$1000 price point when they sell out, and that this website exclusive website thing was 100% the RIGHT MOVE . . . all I gotta say is that THAT is such a CORPORATE MENTALITY. This isn't good for consumers, only collectors who wanna get rich. And if you had forgotten, these sold out within a dew hours at least. That only benefits SCHILLS and SHARKS. The rest of us fans are left in the wind. I'm not buying one for that, I WANT to buy one for myself as a fan, not a business minded collector. But the current price point is TOO MUCH for a working person with bills and people to take care of, because I don't live in someone's basement paying no rent, or take food from my child in order to buy it. Bills rule the day, and down to the depths of HELL with anyone who thinks McFarlane Toys made the right decision, despite how nice this looks. I ended up buying both Spin Masters and the McFarlane. I have kids, so they can play with the cheaper ones if I don't want to keep them.
