Great job, man! Love those top water blow ups. Excellent job netting that fish solo and keeping it on long enough to do so, with those bony mouths that spit hooks so easy. Love the priority on fish safety.

Thanks man, they definitely get your blood pumping! I love when the big heavy ones get air, they are an amazing fish. Yeah, that fish didn't want to turn towards me to get into the net, then when he did he went wide! I'm still getting used to the kayak fishing thing.

sweet video! looks like the drag on your tranx loosened up on you. That happens to me if I don't keep it all the way tight.

Thanks man! I really enjoy your videos! That's what I was thinking. I just got the Tranx in the Spring this year, and I'm still figuring it out. I'm used to the old Abu Garcias. It's a pretty smooth reel though. When I caught that second fish I got a good hook set, but the drag was extremely loose, and I had to torque it down. I'm assuming that it's better to run with the tighter drag on that reel.

@@FishingWithBadger I appreciate it. ya you gotta basically have it all the way tight and loosen it if needed during a fight with a big fish . If it’s not hand tight it will loosen up as you fish. I even just check it occasionally while fishing. That’s the one issue with that reel

@@absoluteunitmediaI appreciate the info. I will have to keep an eye on the drag when i'm out fishing then. My jerk bait rod stripped at the reel in my next video. I think I've had it for 20+ years, so time to replace it! 😂always something!

Top water hits are always awesome. I love that time of the year! I’m still experimenting with some different baits. I’ve spent most of my Muskie years casting jerkbaits.

Honestly I’ve never tried one. We don’t keep any of them. I mostly keep trout and walleye. I would like to try pike someday.

@@FishingWithBadger Better than trout for sure, right up there with wallley.
