If you live in Osaka, let's try to speak Osaka dialect and then surprise them! For instance, please say "Ookini"("Thank you " in Osaka dialect) instead of "Arigato" (" Thank you " in standard Japanese)!

Thank you for watching! :D I hadn't visited Japan before I moved there but I had been studying about the region for 3 years at university. I think visiting it for a longer while 2-3 weeks or even a month might help you a lot to see how living there would be! I personally come from a small town in Belgium where there's a lot of nature but still within 30 minutes of a bigger city and nothing I had learnt could have prepared me for life in a massive city like Osaka. I especially struggled with all the people around me and the lack of nature and (living) space.
Great video. It's my first time to watch your video, but it's so honest and useful for people who want to live in Japan. I don't want any people to dream about Japan is a perfect place and get disappointed by finding out the 'cons'. But I still Love Japan and want many people to get to know more about Japan. (^^)

In the US, some of the major cons are poverty, poor job enjoyment (and also some employers like my own just refuse to follow workers rights laws), no universal healthcare, and depending on where you happen to be in the US... tornadoes. Good god are those things terrifying to be in 😂 There are several pros though, such as larger housing spaces, a big emphasis on freedom of speech (which in some ways can be a con but I digress) as well as the US having some of the best colleges in the world.
Pros of living in the USA .Typical benefits of living in a first world country .Freedom to express yourself and pursue whatever life you want. .Cultural melting pot Cons of living in USA .Extreme individualism to where society as a whole is disregarded. .Survival of the fittest culture .Mass shootings every other week .Rampant hook up culture. Relationships aren't a priority .Government leaders spend more time fighting with each other. Than getting things done .Extreme poverty and crime in parts of the country that it resembles the worst 3rd world countries. .Can't trust the media. They're about views first. Facts 2nd. .Did I mention the insane amount of mass shootings??? .

Perhaps many young people prefer big city like Osaka to countryside for new experiences. Of course it depends what kinds of necessities they have each other haha . Moving from European countries to Japan is not so easy as you've mentioned . I totally agree with you. Especially the balance between nature and crowded atomosphere and more 😞 I think it's a good idea to put Japanese text down below if you've got time to do that ,for many Japanese want to know how young international couple like you & Rin live together in Japan but the problem is 英語 😵 By the way ,could you guess my name ? New Subscriber! I went to search the pro and cons of living in japan and i came across your video. I Love how descriptive u was and did an amazing job of the pro and cons of living i am deciding to move from the US in the future but before i do i want to know the good and bad of living there before i make my decision.
Is finding a job related to finance in Tokyo or Osaka relatively easy to get? My Japanese right now isn't the best but I haven't started university yet, will do this September, so there's lots of time for me to learn Japanese.
Thank you for your comment! The answer is that it really depends 💦if you have a good grasp of the language and culture plus work experience (through internships for example) in the finance field you have a higher chance of getting in 👍
There are a couple of options you have except for teaching jobs. If you can speak Japanese the options increase massively but you can look into foreign companies in Japan, they often need english speaking staff, or in the entertainment world there are also many options :D I personally work parttime as a children's english teacher and children's fitness coach so it's not really your typical teaching job here in Japan :)

As for teaching English in Japan, depending on the job you are able to get as well as your teaching abilities your salary can range from anywhere between 1700 dollar and 5000 dollar per month if you work full time ^^
If you are able to read/speak Japanese then that will be a huge benefit when you go jobhunting in Japan! I studied Japanese as well at university and it has helped me a lot ^^

There are definitely a lot of IT jobs available but most of them probably require you to know Japanese 🇯🇵 there are also English IT jobs but these are harder to find :)
Unfortunately it isn’t 🥲Japan has some of the strictest immigration rules so it’s pretty hard. But definitely not impossible, it’ll just take some time
Hokkaido is such a nice place! I’ve been wanting to go there for two years straight, especially in winter ❄️ but it’ll probably be next winter before we can go!
This might be the same for me as in India. Because there is a TON of trouble in india. There are some good points in my country. So it's kinda common for a few countries having a few ups and downs

@@LaurasLifeInJapan you have luxurious apartments, GREAT street food, some good places to see like The Gateway of India, some good markets, etc. I can't name everything but this is everything that comes to my mind. Plus there's tons of commercial land and transitional land

From my experience, the best thing about most Asian cities is the safety. You can walk around at night and not even worry about being harassed.

北海道のオススメは積丹半島（shakotanhantou）や知床半島（shiretokohantou）とかですね。もちろん美瑛や富良野もオススメです。
グルメでは、札幌駅ステラプレイスの根室はなまるっていう回転寿司や、スープカレー、ジンギスカンが北海道らしいです。
