Love it, i did mine with only one plate so it’s 2 plates lower then sidewalks , seems to work better for me, when you do a cross walk, i can do a curve slope for wheelchair asses , i really love your channel. Have a great rest of your weekend
Yes, I went back and forth on that with the sloped pieces. Maybe change out just the plate that will have a crosswalk. Though I made a cross walk intersection and the curb is so tiny anyway. Thanks so much!
do you have a picture of how you did this somewhere? i'm wokring on the 2 plate thick sidewalk and 20 stud width road (standard road plus 2 on each side) but having issues with the wheelchair/bike access.
Such a great video! Very informative. I can see Mils came to stay, and i was wondering how to integrate the new road plates on it. Thanks! Eagerly waiting for the landscape tutorials.
Yes there are so many variations to create your own custom roads as long as you have the basic idea of where to start. You can change sidewalk widths, road widths… much more custom!
This is a great video. I am just starting my city and I have to build so many MILS plates...but I love this for the roads. Well done my friend. New sub and bell.
You can strengthen the construction further by laying 2x4 bricks sideways so the road and side walk plates sit on top of the brick. It will use more bricks but sometimes that doesn't bother me if they are rainbow ones.
Thanks for the tutorial. Very informative. As someone just starting out a Lego city, this is good to know. Also, since I'm just starting out, I have the advantage of not having to transition from old road plates. Got some of the new road plate sets for $15.99 like you said.
Thanks for inspiring me to start building my first MILS plate. I used two high curbs with light blue gray line on the side to make it look like my local gutter curbs. I just subscribed, because you make things look simple and easy to move to the next level of City detailing.
Nice to see some different designs, although I prefer Bricksie’s version with the higher curb and thinner white lines. I created my first MILS road over the weekend, though I may change the white edge line from white to yellow as in the UK we only have the white lines out of the towns, and yellow lines for no parking in urban areas.
Have you ever consider putting 2 of the new road plates side by side for a MILS ? You wouldn’t have a sidewalk but for something like a 4 lane wide racetrack ??
Omg Im just starting my own lego city and this was so helpful, Thank you. But I do have one question, how do make the corner roads where they turn ? Im just wondering because of the white tiles. Can u maybe do a tutorial for it ?
Might be something in the future but check out Bevins Bricks. I had only planned to use the T and straight roads anyway in my city so I didn’t get into corners. I’m not sure you can do a whole lot with the new roads, might have to brick build them.
First of all I am so glad I found your channel. I am just starting the design of my cit. However, I am having a hard time finding the seller your referenced in the video that outline the cost of the Mils plates. I cannot find any of the bricks you reference at the lower costs.

@@LittleBinsandBricks I do, I actually made my first one a couple weeks back from your MILS baseplate video since knowing the pieces was alot easier. however this one has been a challenge.

I have watched a few guides now and I am a bit confused. Some builders (e.g. Bricksie) use only one plate height under the road plates. Is there a reason you use two plates under them? As far as I can see the only difference this causes is how high the edge of the sidewalk is. Am I missing aomething?
Right, I look at the height of the curb vs the height of the minifig. Think about how high a curb is to us. With that said, it’s an imaginary world and there isn’t any other difference in the integrity of the plate.
