Make a cube having a core with 6 different tension systems (ex: One side GAN GES Nut, One side IPG, One side screw, One side Gan XS system, One side dual adjustment, etc..)
Edit: You could also have multiple magnet adjustment systems on edge pieces (ex: XS, YueXiao, Tengyun, etc...)

  • @nothsacr
    @nothsacr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    Cubing idea:
Make a cube that is fully 3d printed then add magnets there are reversed so they repel with each other. Then design the core so that each side has a different tensioning system so one side is the GAN xs system then there is the moyu wrm system the valk 3 elite system the Dayan tengyun v2 m system the mgc elite system and the GAN x system. Ps. Make sure each side has a different spring/screw strength to make it even weirder!
Edit: this may take awhile so good luck and if you want to fit all of the different systems in you will have to design the core very differently on each side which will take a lot of work.

you should make a cube with a bunch of different textures for each piece. for example, one piece might have wood, another plastic, mat plastic, aluminum foil, one with a bunch of string, etc.

Adjust a cube to be tailored for CFOP white-cross solvers. (I will show what I mean, but you should think of it yourself since I'm pretty bad at CFOP) something like this: white-face tighter, since it won't be moved after cross. Top face looser to make CFOP and LL easier? Adjust magnets so that pairs will stay together more. Basically just stuff involving magnets and tensions. Maybe even adjust weight so that bottom face is heavier?? If this is really successful I might even say that this could in fact help competitive cubers. I think this won't be so good at first but something very interesting to think about! Thanks so much for listening!

Cubing Idea: Make a stickerless cube where you could adjust its texture i.e. replace the outer surface of the cube with other stuff. The outer feel of the cube is also pretty important when buying a cube because of the grip, so this could be nice to see.

Use a cube as a key. Solved state with NFC interaction unlocks something, or maybe just the cube being solved unlocks something (and in turn scrambled states lock said thing). Anything like a drawer, a door, Phil’s diary...

Not quite a major innovation but make a timer that you can set 'beeps' at certain intervals for when you should finish cross, F2L, oll, pll. Eg. 4s cross, 10s F2L, 4s oll, 4s pll if you are aiming for sub-22 as an example. So you can see where you need improvement the most.

i think it'd be cool if you made stickers or even pieces that are light-sensitive: the colours can become darker or lighter based on light. almost like from full bright to half bright, or like the mood rings that change colours based on temperature i think? could be cool if it became brighter when dark so solving in the dark can be easier. also btw all the other "Aaron's" are just my friends (we decided to all name ourselves "Aaron" for fun lol) who i convinced to submit an idea as well! we all hope one of us can win! 😁

I think a cool idea would be having a cube that trains for fewest moves. Say using a smart cube to track the cubes solve state and computationally finding more efficient FMC solutions as you go along might be able to help pinpoint specific places in a FMC solution where you can decrease move count. One way to potentially do this is to calculate a FMC computer solution given the active state of the cube, and if a turn doesn't decrease moves towards a solution, it's flagged

I've been having an idea lately about a programm where you insert an algorithm and it shows you the most effective way to do the algorithm (Fingertricks). You should program it with different fingertricks for certain moves (For example doing U with your left index or the same move (U) dragging the upper face with your right hand after you have done R') and depending on what moves you have done, it show you an effective way to do de alg with the fewest regrips as possible. Good Luck!

Implement a very low powered psi pneumatic party blower horn sound with another psi pneumatic system that blows confetti in the air every time you just slightly solve faster than your average. And then blows the party horn so you feel marginally better when you solve good. Confetti is optional because after one use it would be a pain to clean. A possible better option is a laser light system going off with motion and different colors.

what i think about the wrm: the cube had to be slowed down considerably. I put a lot of sticky lube in and just broke it in. When I first put the lube in it became really slow but after breaking in the speed feels ok and it has a really plush feeling which i really like. I feel like that's the best way to set this up: just dump sticky lube in and break it in. Also I thought i wouldn't like the frosted plastic but the surface on the wrm feels much better than the surface of a GAN cube to me. Feels kinda soft to the touch and adds to the plushy feeling. It'd be perfect had it been half a milimeter larger lolz
    engineering idea:
make a cube that lubes itself without using self-lubricating plastic

For my silly engineering idea, I’d like to see you make a cube designed to pop (in addition to lack of torpedoes, maybe something like the new Gan Core Magnets that are designed to repel from the core, as well as other ideas I haven’t thought of)

What if there’s a 3x3 with a 4x4 mechanism; center split in 4 equal parts and edge split in half and if you remove the tape it’ll function like a 4x4 but normally it functions as a 3x3

Hi Cyoubx 👍 You could do these silly engineering videos:)
    1) Make a turning cube out of cardboard and paper #DIY
    2) Dumb Cube Designing and making the WORST PUZZLE
    3) Add a Dual Adjustment system to a Rubik's brand- it won't make it any better

make a dual adjustment system to either a nano 3x3 cube or the heshu big 3x3 cube

This is probably not WCA legal, change the spring compression by tapping the center cap. This can be done during inspection, because I prefer to have stronger spring compression on the side I am doing my cross.

Make a cube that loves you the way you wanna be loved.😢

Make a cube with magnets in the pieces, core, center caps and try too make up a different magnet system

Please make a robot cube solver. You could do it in many episodes. Hardware software perhaps 3d printing changes along the way. Im going to do this one day on my channel but it’d be great to see you do it too, especially as you are a real engineer :)

How about repelling magnets at the 45 degree mark ie (when a layer is 45-degree misalligned)? (and you can [optional] couple that with attracting magnets at the 90 degree mark) I still think this is a moderately silly idea, but it's more worth doing than repelling magnets at 90 degree mark (ie perfectly alligned) which people have already done before.

I would absolutely love to see a 3x3 with a 2x2 on the inside for a core, so that it can lock up just like the free floating ball core of the v-cube 6 from back in the day. I think it'd be the most incredible thing to take to a comp and watch people die inside after giving them an easy cross scramble with a free triple X cross lol

Make a force cube out of the Gan 356i/iv2 (restickering or painting the caps) and then get the Gan Robot to solve it

For the (silly) engineering thing you could try to give a moyu cube (such as the mf3rs 2020) black internals so it has a gan like asthetic

Idea: make a cube that uses like magnetical repulsion instead of springs.
You could also fix the TengYun V2 edge pieces yourself :D (like 3D printing them)
I liked that: "All the pieces feel the same, don't they?" haha XD biggest motivation ever :D
