Update: If you hear a squeaking noise when you turn a layer, take off the center cap and clean out the dust buildup on the screw. I think this comes from the top magnet rubbing against the blue cup. I had to clean all 6 sides, and it's not getting dusty again so it's probably all good now.

Pretty weird most people have this issue(including me) on the blue face. Maybe the tester for this wasn't colour neutral 🤔
i think the coolest internals would be treating the cube as a gradient, white on the side of white, and then each color as it blends to the nearby colours (or adjecent/complementary on the colorspectrum)

There’s definitely gonna be the controversy of if it should be allowed in competition but aesthetically, it would be amazing
i imagine it could be legal as it wouldnt be easy to see the internals of the cube especially when turning fast

Cube head: there are no differences between the maglev and normal cubes

I mean the regular WRM sounds smooth
But the Maglev sound like the layers are separated and are crashing into eachother each turn (crunchy)
depends on how you turn I guess, Cube Head turns more aggressively so ig that the difference is smaller to him

If you remove magnets from the core, don't play with them. They are not metal (only metal coated). If two such magnets snap onto each other too fast, they can chip or even break.

I didn't research this, but I thought that magnets could only be made from iron, nickel and cobalt (which are metals)

If F is proportional to d^2 for magnetic fields and d for springs by hooks law, maybe that explains some of the different feeling. So the "springs" will be weaker when in a stable position (resting position), then stronger when unstable (doing cornercutting, since it pushes the magnet up into the screw). Neat. Maybe I'll get one

I got this in like Nov 2021 and I’ve been using it ever since. The cube is, as J perm said, absolutely phenomenal. The cube feels very fast and smooth even before I used an angstrom setup (oop sorry I know u guys are speed cube shop fans). Of course, since it’s so fast, you cannot put more than two drops of DNM in it. Martian also works awesome with this cube. I must admit tho that I wasn’t used to it at first because it felt somehow restrictive. It’s corner cutting is good when testing but in fact even relatively small cuts are somehow forceful. However, I think it’s mainly my problem as this issue vanished once I got used to the cube.
I made the transition from a Gan XS to this cube and I’ve pretty much smashed every one of my PBs with it since then. I got my first ever sub-9 ao50 on this cube and I’m so glad that I chucked this into my cart. Absolutely great effort to make a good cube at an economical price. This made me realise how good fast cubes can be.
do you recommend this over the non maglev?

I like the idea of magnetic springs. I will get a few new cubes and work from there. I am just a hobbyist for the cube; my oldest cube is 30+ years and I retired it inside a pint mason jar, which took me 5 hours, but it looks pretty cool.

I just got this cube today. It felt amazing, it is my first proper speedcube. My other cube is just a £2 cube, so this feels like a massive upgrade. I was kind of annoyed though that they didn’t give you metal tools to adjust the magnets, but I am looking into getting one sorted
Edit: I just tried the £2 one, and it was unbearably stiff, when it was literally so fast this morning before I tried my new one 😂

I went for the MoYu WRM 2021 Maglev and I have got my time down over 5 seconds in just a week and a half. And I don’t know what GAN cubes are like, because I decided against it because I looked at JPerms best cubes list and MoYu was higher than GAN (cheaply)

Another big difference between springs and magnets is that springs have a linear spring constant for force, while magnets follow an inverse square law.
This means the closer they are together, the more force is required to push them further. This is likely to be what is making the cube feel extremely fast and weird
Anyway would be funny to see a 124 magnet cube soon. (48 Regular magnets + 16 corner stalk core magnets + 48 centre edge magnets + 12 maglev magnets)
Just as you posted this gan came up with the 12 maglev, lol. Idk what else they can come up with. Maglev cores? Pieces that just glide on magnets? Idk.
Yeaahh, exactly! I wanna customize my gan 12 m maglev into the one with centre-edge magnets, thus it'll have 124 magnets in total. Idk if it's worth it or not tho, will it become cooler or... the other way round
I mean, I'm not really sure how to even do this, have never tried so. Like, there are 2 magnets in each centre piece. They are pretty big, there isn't much space under the cap. Should I even try? This is my main cube, I won't have another chance xd
@@yallknowtheresnofear1199 I highly doubt it would do anything at all, if those magnets actually did something they would have caught on after the Valk started using them. Not even the tornado v2 has them (which is the current qiyi flagship, same maker as Valk cubes)

Just joking xd, I see it as a bit of additional stability, nothing more. Maglev cubes really need it unless they are lubed with slow lubes, I guess. And as I don't want to tighten it up, change center travel distance or anything, it seems like an option

I've ordered #3 units right few minutes ago and can't wait to get them in my hands! 🤩
I'm a newbie in this hobby. I'm not a speed cuber. And on my cubes I do like having both: a fairly high tension on the screws and strong magnets.
I like the sensation of solidity and precision these settings give to the overall feeling, so I will most likely set the screws on the hardness position 7 out of 9 (like I already did on my RS3 M Maglev cubes) and the magnets on the strongest position on these when I'll receive them.
The purple internals look so cool
I wish I had the GAN cube with the red internals! That one is my favourite! Im glad they put purple internals to change it up so it is not the standard colors or white or black internals.

Please, always compare the reviewed cube with you main, it is the best way so we can know if it's good enough so we can buy.
Like "for me, the WR M Maglev is just as good as the RS3 M 2020, it's just a matter of taste and you should try both" or maybe "the tornado v2, although a good cube, is about an 8 when compared to RS3 M 2020 which is a 10"
THAT will tell us HOW MUCH you liked or disliked a cube
And please do a direct comparison between WRM and RS3 in both maglev versions, saying which one will be your main.

I think a teal (or a slightly green-tinted blue) would be a really cool internal colour! Even though the purple looks amazing, and this cube is and has been my favourite for a while, and I enjoy having it as my main.

I'm waiting for the Gan 12 pro maglev unboxing and review. I was going to buy the 11m a few hours after they announced the cube. Thought to check the different versions before they UV/Frosted before the purchase and coincidentally saw they the new announcement.
I got this cube the before week and I have absolutely no regrets!!! Im only a beginner so I was first reluctant to try it cause I heard it's rlly fast but I can control it quite easily now and the purple is soo cool
