Coffey Anderson sang this song at all 13 funerals of the service members who died leaving Afghanistan at his own expense. He really is Mr. Red, White and Blue! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

He performed this song at 6 funerals for service members killed in Afghanistan bombing in 2021, all at his own expense. He made the offer on TikTok to all 13 families, only 6 families accepted.

I served in the US Navy and left for a deployment five days before my daughter's first birthday and didn't return until she was almost 3. We were able to call home about once a month and had email, but I basically missed her first everything's. That part of a soldier or sailors life can never be given back and it is the price we pay to be that 1% that serves our country.

Reminds me so much of my Dad. He grew up in a single parent household when that was unheard of, and was the man of the house from the day he was born. He wanted to join the army when he graduated from high school but couldn't get parental consent. He signed up on his 18th birthday and never looked back. He shipped out to WWII straight away. He volunteered for Korea because he felt it was his duty to represent the USA in any conflict. He volunteered for Vietnam as well, but was found to have lung cancer on his physical at the age of 38. He never shirked his duty or lacked love for his country. He will always be a hero in my eyes.

Super RESPECT for the families that sat at home waiting for word from their military member. After only a week in Iraq a 19 year old Soldier gave his life while protecting me and my fellow truck drivers. This I will never forget.

Never heard this and it hit really hard. Getting deployed and the first phone call talking to my 3 year old and all he wants is for me to come play cars with him. You don't try to explain why you can't, you just tell him how much you miss him and love him. Then the phone goes dead. It hurt but I've never questioned my service, I gave something back to a country that has given me so much.

As an army brat this gets me every single time, cause I was that baby my dad left with my mom when he first went to Iraq, and I had tons of medical issues pop up almost immediately after. I’ve heard it said that behind every single soldier is an army supporting them, family, friends, coworkers. Every single deployment my dad went on my family felt like it was going to war too, I as an older sibling stepped up and helped my mom, grandparents and uncles did more babysitting, family friends from church and my parents childhood made meals on holidays. Pastors prayed as soldiers were sent off and returned(sometimes in a coffin)
I suggest American soldier by Tony Keith and ones who didn’t make it back home justin Moore

First year we were married my hubby was deployed for a year and 3 months. I was here in a state by myself. I was so depressed. I sat by my phone and computer all day and night only going out for food. My hubby spent 20 years in military and 4 years were deployed to Iraq. My hubby is now medically retired. This song always brings up memories happy and sad.

I truelly believe no countrymen on the planet can ever match the patriotic love for country that us americans have. Not to say people dnt love their country but when it comes to sacrifice and lating down ones ultimate sacrifice for love of country we are unmatched. This is why any country should fear the day they try and invade america. We will go above and betond for our country. The fact that we have twice as many armaments as citizens helps also.

I'd say the Ukrainians right now are pretty patriotic, fighting for the existence of their country and to not just be a puppet state. We in the USA are definitely more than average patriotic, but I'm not sure I'd say we are unmatched.

I love this song. I am a disabled vet from the 1980s. I just want you to know, as an infantryman, meaning that you referenced Band of Brothers, you don't think about home when you're sitting in a foxhole or marching 10 miles or more. That distraction can get you killed. You have to stay focused on the job and your objective. Other branches with less direct contact with the enemy don't have the same kind of stress.

From the time I was born I was one of the ones who waited at home for any word. My dad joined the Navy years before my parents even met. He served for 23 years. He went in during WWII, and stayed in during the Korean War and the beginning of the Vietnam War.
My brother graduated high school and went straight into the Navy during the Vietnam War. He also spent 23 years in the Navy. He retired in 1994.
My sister was in the Army for two years.
My daughter was in the Navy for three years. She got out so she could marry her sweetie, who was in the Army. (they had known each other since grade school) He retired a few years ago, because of injuries he got in Iraq.
My daughter and son-in-law have two sons who are both in the army.
My son just passed his 20th anniversary in the Navy . . . he has served all over the world, away from home Many Times.
I know quite well how hard it is to say goodbye, never knowing if I would ever see them again.
Keeping in contact with a service member has gotten easier over the years . . . with my dad it was by mail - some letters taking weeks to get around the world. When my brother and sister were in sometimes they could make phone calls home, and there were still letters. More recently, a lot of the time we can keep contact by the internet on computers (depending on if they were on a base, on a ship, or in the field.
I couldn't serve in the military because of vision problems, but I know quite well how it feels to be the one left at home, waiting, and not knowing. (Always dreading the thought of a military vehicle pulling up in front of our house.)

Cofee like the drink only spelled different. As an old US Army vet songs like this activate my patriotism and turn it up to 15 where I sit normally at a 10 most days. I trained with our brothers and sisters on your side of the pond and I can honestly say that his Majestys men were as professional and as knowledgeable as any of my own men and just as great when we got to let our hair down so to speak. So I know this is an old video, but I just heard this song for the first time 2 days ago. I don't know how it passed under my radar. Here's a bit of a background...my son is 20. He just became a US Marine in October (2023). Right before graduation, he broke his foot in 2 places. Those of you who know what these guys (and girls) go through during the Crucible (if you don't know, watch a YT video on it please...it'll make it so much easier to understand). He has stress fractures in both feet and lower legs up to a month old. He was crossing the street and 2 of those stress fractures just snapped. So, he didn't get to come home after boot like all the other Marines. He had to stay on Parris Island for another 2 months. Plus side was he healed up right before Christmas so he got to spend the holidays at home. After boot camp, he went for MCT (29 extra days of rifleman training). From there, he went to California (I live in Maryland so literally the other side of the country) and has been there since. I took him to the airport on January 2nd. It's June 29th and I still haven't seen him. This is only the beginning. This has just been training. I've seen my son for a total of 23 days since July 9th of last year (when he left for boot). I just found out where he will be stationed when he's done learning his job (leaving Cali on July 9th...1 year since leaving home). I'm extremely fortunate that he's stationed close to home....for now. One thing many don't understand about the US military is where they are right now can change at any moment. They can get orders today to be in another country tomorrow. Anyway, I heard this song for the first time, thinking of my son, and I just started crying.
To The Beesleys....I just found this channel and this is the 2nd video I've watched (1st one was The Star Spangled Banner as You've Never Heard it Before). You guys make me even more proud to be an American. You guys are in another country, watching videos about our pride in our country (even when it's a shit show, we love our country, our service members, our first responders, our flag, etc) and you're getting emotional about it. It warms my heart that you get how us Americans feel from all the way across the ocean (across the pond 🤣). Thank you. Thank you. Thank you 😊

A couple things I think you should know about him. He is the son of an Air Force veteran and a US Marine Corps veteran himself when the attacks on the Kabul airport happened and we lost 13 service members he offered to sing amazing grace out there, funerals at his cost to other songs, I think you should really take a look at our American made, and Back the Blue.

Most of the people in the USA feel every word of this song... We have such pride in our military personnel. I just wish we took better care of our soldiers, when they come home.

My son served in US Army airborne in Afghanistan and yes there is a family behind the soldiers. There are very long periods of time that you don’t hear from your loved soldier.

Different locations have different means of communication, but often there is a computer they take turns using, or a time when they can use a phone, Letter writing is still the most common. Again, it depends on the location, but they may have mail call once a week.

As a US Infantry Veteran, We get a of credit but our families should get it. In the middle of it we know what's going on but all our families could only wait, think and worry. So to any family of a soldier or veteran THANK YOU

The worst feeling is seeing two soldiers in full dress come knock on your door… until then, god willing that day never come, it is hand written letters and e-mails that are usual coms. Phones are hit and miss depending on location and (exactly right) service availability.

Family end of things. In the early days following 9/11 my brother was able to call home on a satellite phone. It was a surreal thing. It was letters only prior to that. It was so nice to be able to actually talk to him in the middle of a war zone.

I'm not in the military myself, but i have military family. First time I heard this song I got very emotional. Coffey wrote this song beautifully. #1 most patriotic song. Makes me proud of my American roots.

  • @SouthernBelle888
    @SouthernBelle888 ปีที่แล้ว

Coffey has consistently used his music not only to entertain but to spread a message of hope and healing. When thirteen service members were tragically killed in a bombing at the Kabul airport during the Afghanistan evacuation in 2021, he offered to perform his song Mr. Red, White, and Blue at the service members’ funerals. Ultimately, he accepted requests from nine of the thirteen families, traveling at his own expense to perform the song at each of their funerals.

Toby Keith - American Soldier is another good song if you're interested. (The scenes were families say good bye as the soldiers deploy is TOUGH as no matter how many times your loved one goes through a deployment this gathering before they leave is always so gut wrenching and heartbreaking both for those leaving and those staying behind. I hate going to these when my little brother was being deployed - then you can't wait to go back to welcome them home and you just hug them and don't want to let them go).

Got married at 18 in October 1968. By December I was in basic training. A year later I was a Huey door gunner in Vietnam on my first tour. It hurts like hell to leave my family behind but only makes the homecoming that much more richer. PS: Britain's flag has Red, White, & Blue as well. GB is the Mother Country. Without the Brits there would be no U.S. The revolutionary war was just a misunderstanding between two family members.

In the 60's it was sometimes 7 weeks or longer before a seaman got any mail. My fiance at the time got upset with me because he hadn't heard from me- Then he got 13 letters all at once because there had been a mail delay. He said he almost wept with joy. I wrote him 278 letters while he overseas and I numbered each one on the back of the envelope. He was so proud whenever the mail came....
