Met Derek Bell casually walking away from the Cathedral in LeMans and asked if he would allow me to take a photo. Chatted for 5 minutes. What an utter legend and gentlemen.

Interesting laps. Thankyou for these experiences. There was a similar Jägermeister CSL at the Silverstone Classic and it was weaving all over the place. It was not clear if this was a set up problem or some sort of weird driving technique.
The big kid strikes again! Even with the crash helmet on and just a pair of eyes visible you could see the HUGE grin on you face in the Batmobile BMW. You went silent in the McLaren as soon as he moved off in the pit lane, I would have been silent as well! An Icon Car, an Icon Driver and he was driving like he was on a Sunday Afternoon Trip to the Shops. Would love to be in that car when it's fully set up and Derek is allowed to Really give it the thrashing it was built for!
Living the dream right there. Only thing I could think of that would top that for me is a lap in a 911 with Walter rhorl or derek. But that was epic - derek is so cool.
Peter what a great video. What an experience to have with Derek Bell at the wheel. I was surprised just how twitchy the car was and how much Derek had to work to keep the car on track. And then he said, it has road tyres. Until you experience road tyres and race tyres on the same car at the same circuit you cannot begin to understand how different the car responds. My icon at the front of this text is under full brakes about to enter a hairpin at Mt Cotton HIllclimb just outside Brisbane, QLD, Australia with race tyres. Did I mention envy? Seems I keep saying that about most of your videos. (except for your beach :} ).

I guess if my driver was Colin McRae it would have been close to matching your driver but sadly not. He was the son of Paul McCartney's gamekeeper on the Mull of Kintyre so a kind of connection to a famous person but quite tenuous but nowhere near the icon that is Derek Bell. What is next for you now that you have experienced your No 1. All downhill from here for you but not for your viewers.
