Oh man this is so good. When the guard showed up I could feel the shock and surprise and my mouth widened for a second! I know this is a grimdark story but I couldn't help but cheer on the guard in my head! But alas, you stay so true to the lore and there's little chance they'd ever win against a greater deamon, I can also see the changes now in solomon as his character develops, although I think I know where it's going, and it isn't towards the emperors light. Can't wait for the next part.
That was the response I was hoping for! I'm glad it translated that way. Halfway through writing the third part now so you'll just have to wait and see where this tale goes 👍

There’s something very satisfying/cathartic about listening to the music of heretics getting purged by the Guard.
I am now wondering how many like Solomon are "loyal" servants of the Emperor in the battalion
Quite literally hiding in there armor. Those eye sockets in their helmets, windows to the Madness.
It's probably dudes like this who end up becoming high ranking Inquisitors. Dude is pretty resilient to the taint of the Warp. Slanesh anyway.
@xavis_dad considering it ends with him continuing to march with cultists after reminiscing about how pleasurable it felt to murder an imperial guardsman after taking the bait of a demon near the start of the first chapter, I don't think he's resistant to anything here.

The Absolute constant state terror Solomon feels witnessing all of this, and his inherent cowardice compounding him to survive while also I belive driving him mad and slowly corrupting him. Not to mention the first person he killed was a guardsman. Yeah he's on his way to the warp. Thank you soo much for such great work , really transports you into 40k horror.

@@geeljire9247 well yes he did kill a corrupted guardsmen in the first ep, but he really didn't kill him he stumbled and triped on his own guts and fell on the blade solomon was holding. So more or less aided suicide

Damn, you actually made the Guard sound terrifying! That was fresh - I loved the distinction you made between militia and Guard. Loved the series, you deserve support. Part II really hit hard compared to the others imo

I listened to this 3 times in a row everything is so detailed i didnt want to miss anything, its like im right there with Solomon..... im worried he might be liking the twisted ecstacy Slannesh provides too much to come back, his sanity may be to far gone especially since his first body was a guardsman. Then again *All The Gods Are Dead* ... im hyped for part lll for sure.

I love this channel cuz the descriptions are so creative! It gives the scene more life and thus makes it more enjoyable to listen to. The narrator also has the perfect voice for Warhammer audiobooks, sounding like some veteran guardsmen, telling grimdark stories.

You really do a great job of describing action scenes. Played out like a movie in my head, very well done, can't wait for part 3! Interesting to see the characters progression from the start of the first episode to the end of this one, can see (what I at least assume to be) the corrupting powers of Chaos taking its effect on him.
I loved how visceral you described the action scenes with the Guard suddenly appearing and poor Solomon slowly succumbing to Chaos... looking forward to part 3!

Just noticed this one is an original. It's absolutely amazing.
I'm a listener to many different creepasta narration channels and other horror channels for years and years. I also do narration myself from time to time. I'm a massive lifelong horror fan and recently becoming obsessed with 40k.
And i do have to say this series is one of the most engaging and well written stories I've listened to in a long time. Great work. Just finished part 2 and am about to lay down and start part 3.
Really, fantastic job, my friend. Obviously keep up your amazing narrations, but also, DONT STOP WRITTING!

Too bad the guards lost the attack. This battle was extremely well written, the way you manage to color the scene is really impressive. On to part 3 !
I’ll be a bit less broad with my compliments this time: the choice of focus on the gore and barbarism is perfect enough to push your mind to grotesque thoughts but not outright disgusting in its imagery, not to mention every action of Solomon feels so real, you can understand his thoughts his actions, how his body is running on instinct while his mind hides away behind the iron mask. It’s so perfect in its choice of description, the right stuff so you know where you are and what the place is but not to much to spoil the image it creates in your mind. This whole series is just so there, I can’t say I’ve found a single issue with it it just feels so enveloping.
Bro your action scene was unbelievable. Gripped me so intensely and the background sound adds so much depth.
Man I love it. You never fail to crush it every time. By the end of the story every time I'm on the edge of my chair.

I was really hoping they would save him. but alas... thus is the world of the grim dark. I admit, I don't know much about the 40k universe. but this is a great audio peice even for those that dont know much about the universe.

I cannot get over the battle near the end, the efficiency of the guard, quickly disintegrating into fear versus the ecstatic brutality of the cultists and Demons. This is how I always imagined Slanneshi Demons fighting, not with bloodthirsty rage like Khornate Demons but with elegance and grace. A truly amazing battle description Vox

@@AVoxintheVoid I've always had my own view on how Chaos Demons fight. Khornate Demons would be blood crazed bezerkers, Nurgle Demons would be slow and deliberate like Death itself, Tzeentch Demons would be cunning sorcerers and Slanneshi Demons would be just like this, fast, majestic and brutal, as if they were dancing more than fighting. I won't lie when I say that this story has helped inspire me to get back into writing and the fight has given me inspiration in regards to how to write a battle description
I keep coming back to this series and every time I feel pride and horror with the battle at the end. Still one of the best 40k battle descriptions I've ever heard

I realy feel sorry for the guy. Even if he would throw down his weapon and surrender, he would only be burned as a heretic. As the inquisitorial saying goes: "Innocence proves nothing!"
Although you hardly cant call him innocent any more after killing a guardsman. Even if done in self defence.
I'm glad my writing has elicited such a response. I wanted people to initially hate the character but begin to question how they would react in the same situation. I think a lot of people would be surprised...thankyou again!

I probably would not have mustered the strengh to go through that ordeal for seven days, like Solomon did.
In a way his cowardice turned out to be a virtue as it kept him going till he got a chance to redeem himself.
