    Hi guys, thanks for all the amazing kind comments! Greatly appreciated! Just to know your opinions, are there people who would be interested to see my aproach to altissimo's? And if you like false fingerings, I shared a while ago quite a bundle of them in this video: th-cam.com/video/XlXNNYtp-Es/w-d-xo.html

    Love the way your videos are formatted. Pretty inspiring! I’m definitely jealous of your background too; I don’t have anything nearly as cool.

      A wild Saxologic has appeared! Remember to pay tribute to our saxophonic lord Kenny G! Invoke him with the sacred Mario lick incantation!

      Hi Saxologic, I guess we're both in the Lick business huh,.love your channel by the way, really dig your sax sound! Thanks for the background comment, that was a year of renovation (and logging) worth at least about 50 transcriptions I could have done.

    Depending on your oral cavity and set up, there are multiple ways to get altissimo and overtones on your horn.

    Thanks, Great Stuff, but I am curious as to how did you learn these things that you are teaching us? You play great, was this a hard process for you? Did you have to practice a lot, or do you just have natural talent for the sax? Thanks , gk

    • @SharpElevenMusic
      @SharpElevenMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi gksax2016, thanks for the interesting question. I guess most of the work for being able to learn this solo was the total process of studying saxophone since I was 7, just as a hobby first, and then taking it to the professional level here in Belgium by studying a Bachelor and Master in Music - for 6 years that is - in College here. So I did my fair share of lots of practising and playing gigs.
      That being said, it hopefully sounds not to arrogant when I say that it was actually not really hard. In fact, when transcribing the solo and finishing it, I noticed I could kinda play it at around 80-90% of the speed, so I thought it should'nt be too time consuming to learn it completely in tempo (teaching/giggin and renovating a house don't bring you a lot of spare time (not to mention transcribing and shooting videos for the chanell ) so I unfortunately can't put in hours like I used to in college). It seemed feasible, so I needed a few short sessions, probably 4 of 20 minutes to get it up to the actual tempo.
      So, a natural talent... Don't know. I think you need some talent, but if you don't put in the time somewhere in your life, it won't get you very far. Some will be faster, some slower and some probably can't get past a certain point. But putting in the hours of practise is inevitable :)
      Hope this makes sense, glad you enjoyed the video.
      Jorre

    Will you be testing and performing the Wanne Tenor mouthpieces?

    • @SharpElevenMusic
      @SharpElevenMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At this point not, but maybe in the future. I've tested a bunch of his alto mouthpieces (NY Bros 2, GAIA 4, Fire and Earth), I don't know if you have seen that video? I'll be soon receiving two different versions of his Durga as well on alto.
      Maybe in the future, you can always let Theo know as he is really open in communication, great dude! He send me already so many great alto pieces, not sure I can ask for more now so soon 😂

    • @SharpElevenMusic
      @SharpElevenMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh certainly an influence why I tried that mouthpiece back in the day, but also played a Beechler diamon inlay for about a year (you can see where that came from...) and a Jody Jazz for 3 years (just because of trying in the shop). Eventually I decided it made no sense to have 3 mouthpieces, two of them just laying around so vowed to myself to try them all 3 and decide once and for all. did this years back and I'm the richest saxophonist around 😛

    • @Jtssax
      @Jtssax 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha niicee....Btw do you know a rubber alto mp wich is free blowing and is also so clear and focused like the beechler and other metals? Because I struggle with the intonation of metals (and of rubber Claude lakeys😂😂😭)
