Jeff has always been in my mind since I saw the picture of him being rescued after the bombing. I'm so happy he survived, and has even grown stronger since the incident. Conan was awesome in this interview, and let Jeff take the wheel with the humor. So much respect for both of them!

This event was a confirmed drill. Nobody got so much as even a scratch. It was all staged. The reality is,...Bauman was already a bonafide amputee when he lost his legs serving in Iraq after a roadside bomb blew up next to their convoy. Sorry it couldn't have been real enough for you.
Bauman lost his limbs in the Iraq War over a year BEFORE the confirmed bombsquad drill that they call the 'bombing'. Hope that helped.

I was hopiong that after he described his studies that they would have given him a grant to help him with it, but I realize it's not Ellen, it's Conan. Not trying to disparage Conan, but that dude is stonger than I. I'd have eaten a bullet way before deciding to go back to school after having my legs blown off.

What a remarkable person. Truly inspiring story. Not only does he take what he is given, which was very tragic, and make the best of it, but he seeks to give back to those who are in the same boat he was by pursuing a career in designing those amazing prosthetics. Hope he goes far in achieving those dreams. Kudos.

He's Jeff Bauman!! He's Boston strong!! He can get wheeled down Boylston Street fully conscious where we never see any blood spurting from his legs. Also, not a drop of blood spurting out while he's on his back and hoodie man is putting on the prosthetic over his stump. This guy is amazing!!
What an unbelievable event. Beau man gets both legs blown off and it's over 7.5 minutes before he crosses past the time clock at the finish line. Not in shock, not unconscious, but actually sitting up, talking and holding his leg. That medical tent must have had a gallon of his type blood. That's a good med unit. And then five weeks later, he's throwing out the first pitch at a Sox game. Like I said, what an unbelievable story.

Oh quite a lot definitely do! But a lot don’t. I moved to Boston 3 years ago and I’ve found it pretty interesting. There are also differences depending on the neighborhood/suburb of Boston. It’s pretty interesting how diverse an accent can be in a relatively small (30 mile) radius.
