Using the wrong warp glitch is easier and faster if you want to go to a canyon in free roam (with Improvement mod you can also get to the unfinished canyon with this glitch), but still, I love the way you made the map and the effort you put into it.
Very cool guide. I used to use the Dillano609 videos to guide me back in the day. I had an island hopping method using cardinal directions. For San Juan I would follow the edge of Palmont going around Silverton until the western tip of Fortuna and went due West. To get to the East half of the canyons, I would go due North from the northern tip of Silverton to get to Gold Valley Run and then go North to Lookout Point. For the West half of the canyons I would go to San Juan and go North to Drift Course. The fact that you edited direct lines into the minimap is amazing. Saves so much time over island hopping. Another quick method is loading each canyon in Quick Race, and saving the coordinates to a teleport trainer, but I still like the old method of doing the bus stop glitch and driving through the void. I have a theory about the "unfinished" canyon. Noticing that in free roam, Lookout Point uses the construction from the beginning of the game, I believe that for races, the game loads the spline from where Unfinished Canyon is stored to where Lookout Point is, to allow for overwriting of the construction objects. The only reason canyons are North of Palmont is because the game needs somewhere physical to keep the tracks, much like how GTA stores interiors that are accessed via teleporting under or above the map where the player would be unable to see them. NFS World and perhaps Carbon and Most Wanted does the same thing with safe house interiors.
Where ever I see places that we can't go to in games that I have played it gives me an unsettling feeling like the ghost town in GTA 3 or the Liberty City in San Andres.
I still to this day wonder why black box back then cut content in the game... thats like Mystery City seen at Lookout Point was the real Palmont City cause if you pay attention to the green sign showing how far Palmont was its obvious Mystery City was former Palmont
I mean, it's quite understandable that traffic and stuff spawns on the canyons on free roam, since the canyons were supposed to be accesible and part of the map during beta... That could be really cool.
YOO thats awesome also thanks for the full instructions and effort on video i was wondering why my car becomes undriveable after doing the glitch now i get it (this works on ps3 nfs carbon too) also great video a lot of effort
Please CONNECT the cities of Bayview from this underground 2 with Rockport from Bridge Vanted and Palmont from Carbon, add Canyons to all this and you will have the best game in the world! But damn, unfortunately no one will ever think of doing that.... But true fans are still waiting for this!!
Someone help me in this game I wants to do police chases but now all my zones are zone heat 1 what do I do to increase it to zone heat 5 Zone heat 1 ruined all my chases the cops never spawn and if they spawn they're somewhere where by the time I can get to them they despawn
probably, nfs mw was rushed too, apparently there were supposed to be 2 more regions and many more voice lines and heat levels in nfs mw, so i wouldnt be surprised if EA rushed carbon too. it always felt incomplete to me anyway.
@@merasoul6520 Only 3 more heat levels but heat level 7 was pretty sucky so maybe that was rushed too Of course they're rushed they had 1 year to develop the games
theory, what if you were ment to escape a heat 7 or 6 pursuit just like most wanted at one point and leave throught the canyon which couldve been a differently decorated lookout point
I definitely could, but Need for Speed World would be missing stuff like canyons, San Juan and so on. (The only locations outside the actual world are the display room and the safehouse). So it probably won't be as interesting.
It can depend on the car you use, but when you perform the glitch, after your car jumps make sure it is totally flat (not tilted at all) before you drive off. If it isn't flat, you could probably try partially sticking each wheel of the car through the wall just enough to make them touch the road's surface (but not far enough to make the entire car phase back through the wall). Doing this should level the car out. (This is a trick I always use in Need for Speed World, but I'm not sure if it works the same in Carbon.) Hopefully this helps, and good luck!
pointless trivia: eternity pass and gold valley run are the only canyon routes that have unique layouts the rest are mirrored versions of each other gold valley is based on the right side of Jackson Heights from NFSU2 yes i watched an unhealthy amount of NFS Theories when i was younger lmfao
Idk why but whenever I reach any point by simply following your trajectory, I end up in completely different canyon :D. Still enjoyable travel thou. Are you playing on PC?
Is there any genuine difference between lookout point and the unfinished canyon? The video doesn’t point out much and the layouts look exactly the same, not counting the cross chase area
@@shockwave2k25 do we have any clue what purpose the canyon may have had? It’s a little weird to have a stripped away version of an already finished canyon
The map comes split into a number of different pieces when it gets extracted from the .bin file, after combining and editing the pieces myself I just used a tool to split them back up and import those new pieces back into the .bin file.
I already watch this kind of video on @BlueRoofGaming two months ago before this video publish. In that video I saw he teleported crew member on lookout point and also revealed player face.
The roads have been drawn but why not map and model them so as not to be breaking the map so much to be able to reach the canyons and San Juan, that is, it is better to create the edited and mapped roads, well, I am just saying it is a brief opinion, nothing more
It's very easy to say friend, but that task is extremely complex to accomplish. The canyons do not follow any logical order because they were not created to connect with each other, that is why they are splitted in the underworld. Therefore, it is very difficult to map them in a way where they are perfectly linked and connected to the city without the game having problems. Someone said he was working on it, but I don't know if he'll make it because it's a lot of work for one modder.
Not sure what's going on there, but I did draw several labelled lines on the map (also in varying colours) to act as a guide to each canyon. You can even see those changes at around 1:47 in the video. The link I left in the description should lead to a copy of that map which you can install in your game directory (how it works is that you'd replace the old minimap file with the new one, then when you perform the out of bounds glitch, you'd follow any line to the canyon of your choosing.
@@shockwave2k25 sorry I forgot to say that I pasted the wrong files to the game so I didn't get the lines, when I tried the second time few days ago, it worked.

The map with TexED complete with the fog mod is a whole ‘nother level of Dillano609 nostalgia.
