I love how those sand paws would slide, but with a touch of the throttle they hook up and throw rooster tails for days. That Ryft is making me want one.

Paddles will always make sense in dry sand.

You've got that Rift dialed in. That thing is killer!
This is a grea look for the Ryft. Reminds me of the Kyosho FO-XX (that is one cool truck especially the V1 with the paddles) .
I think its almost more suited for sand drags or hill climbs more than rock bouncing.

buddy that would have me in tears. I try to never think about their costs but I can say this with certainty, in most cases, the vehicle itself was the cheap part. most are over $1k easy, some of the bigger ones are close to or over $2k
I have paddle tires for pretty much all my trucks,I have an xmaxx that has only ever been ran with em lol but then again I still have about 6 feet of snow on my lawn,so I'm still snow bashing haha awesome video!!!
Paddle tires are so fun so much traction but they slide love them

It loves the lower center of gravity those tires and your shock mods provided.. I got to lower mine it spends too much time on its roof because it's so top heavy around corners. I'm trying to raise the top shock mounts to lower it using the same shocks and not lose any travel in the suspension. And a tad softer springs😏🤔

i am still waiting for upgrades to come out . Because i have one . Now i need rear trailing arms . and still waiting on my rear sway bar from the hobby store . That way i can get mine in better running condition .
I’ve watched all your videos on this rig. Did you settle on one way? It’s better than the rest. Open deaf front axle locked center. Locked rear sway bar in the front to me. Sounds like the best. I would love to hear your opinion as you have transformed this rig so many times. Thank you, Dan.
Have you considered lowering the power output of the Raw 500 to the minimum amount required to have accurate steering? The reduced power could let impacts overpower the servo motor and let the servo absorb the hit instead of resisting it. With the servo absorbing the hit in this manner it would be like an electronic servo saver.
Looks like one of those Icelandic water skipper buggies set up like that.
Pro line has just about ruined me buying their tires with those F'ing hub style wheels. You said it best, the plastic doesn't hold up and the Alumnium ones are like 40.00

That thing looks amazing, love the slow-mo too. I did have a weird question to ask about castle ESCs though. I noticed with my rc car (running a mamba monster x 6s esc and a 1520 1650kv motor) when I turn one way, it basically cuts my throttle in half... But not when I turn the other way? Seems very strange, I checked temps on absolutely everything, nothing was overheating and I calibrated the esc. Didn't get any warning beeps either.
Check and make sure you don’t have some AVC or steering gyro activated. Some of them will drop power to the motor when turning. Really annoying IMO
@@ExocagedRC I'll take a look, I have a dumbo rc x6g receiver, but I never activated the gyro on it... Maybe I somehow did when I was plugging everything back in. Thanks for the suggestion!

No need for that with the center diff.
you should get the fling king jr 2.2s and review them on the ryft and see what beadlocks ( not crushlocks ) fit them

I see your tracks every time I go. Man that jump used to be epic!! The real trucks and dirtbikes tore it up and now the rain has eroded it into a mound of minimal proportions. I will have a tractor soon and will be getting dirt at my place. I’ll make my own ramps!! LoL
@@ExocagedRC i was there Tuesday and raked up the big jump. Lot is smooth and tacky right now, if i didn't have a diff to change i wouldbe there today.

Can I run a reefs raw 500 on the stock electronics or do I have to buy a bec? I have to do something with the steering on my ryft that stock setup is just so loose and floppy its impossible to hold it straight?

Easiest way to lower ride height is to strap a brick to the top of it. 😛
Those wheels are ment for the dryft
I found the F11 2.8" wheels with 17mm hexes were best. Not a fan of the raid wheels
Hey bro just wondering have you checked out imex web catalog lately for tires and wheels? They got some really awesome stuff im gonna try some new low pro swampers on my xmaxx with bead locks. To be honest I totally forgot about imex as a company until I saw some jumbo kongs on ebay so I looked up imex and they still going strong and have some killer tires and wheels👍✌️🤙 ps.
