    There is a lot packed into this video. As you saw on the thumbnail, this video gives you step by step how to install Harley Heated Grips on both a Batwing (Street Glide) and a Fixed Fairing (Road Glide) motorcycles for the years noted in the video. This installation, includes in bar running of the heat grip cables. I have included chapters for the Batwing and Fix Fairing so you don't have to watch the entire video. However, I would suggest watching the entire video as you may pick up something I did in one install versus the other.

    Great video, shop quoted 4 hours or $700 in Australia, with your great video got it done in 2.5, the trimmer wire was the most challenging part but i found running from the instrument cluster to the hole where the clutch clamps and then feeding another wire from the handlebar end to the same clutch hole and taping them together made it easier then the rest was a walk in the park, appreciate the video and time to do it, thank you 👍

    NEW SUBSCRIBER! I'm currently looking at a 2023 road glide st and I really like it. Everything I didn't like about it you fixed! I might have to go get it tomorrow 😂. I'd like to learn how to work on it myself but I'm uncomfortable working on 2 wheels without supervision. I think I'll have a shop make all alterations. That makes me sad.

      @@HDVIBE I removed my instrument cluster. My 2019 Road Glide Ultra has auxiliary driving lamps, so there is a large auxiliary connector on the left side of the cluster for the switch. The right side of the cluster also has a large auxiliary plug going into a dummy plug.
      I found the black and white wired connector, but there is no purple and black wired connector like you showed. However, the large auxiliary connector in the dummy plug on the right does had purple and black wires along with others, and they are 12V hot with the ignition on.
      Are these the wires for the throttle side you mentioned? I looked at all of the wire harnesses coming out of the handlebars, and I don’t see any wiring that’s not already going to other plugs.

    • @HDVIBE
      @HDVIBE  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @HankHill757 The plugs should all be inside where the guages go. You would not use any of the plugs from the dummie buttons. Those are for other accessories. Sometimes you really need to dig around to find them. 👍

    • @HankHill757
      @HankHill757 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HDVIBE Yeah, I really searched based on your original instructions. I’m going to pull it apart again along with the right grip and test do a continuity test from the plug on the right grip to various wires coming out of the handlebar harnesses to try to determine which ones they are.

    • @HankHill757
      @HankHill757 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HDVIBE I pulled everything apart and unplugged all the connectors under the gauge cluster area. Only found the black/white wire connector as before.
      I removed the right handgrip and checked the continuity of the two heater wire holes. They are the black/ white wire connector.
      Looks like I’ll probably have to buy the harness with the heated grips so I can wire them for power.

    I just removed mine (30 min ago) as I am installing new KST bars soon. My 2021 CVO Road Glide Kahuna heated Grips never worked. Now when I reassemble them (getting Locked and Loaded spearheads) from KST so I’ll double check the connections and especially the throttle side.

      @HDVIBE  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Don for watching and commenting. Hopefully you can get them working. The other thing to look for is any nicks in the wiring on the grips. • @HDVIBE
      @HDVIBE  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I believe I covered that in the video, but, as seen in the video, no need for the harness the Harley instructions stated. Good video. My 2016 RG Ultra only had the black and white factory wire under the speedo/tach. So, I believe I will need the additional wiring kit.. Do you have a video showing how to install that?

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I do believe the RG ultras do require the additional harness. Unfortunately I do not have a video showing that installation. I ended up cutting it off and soldering the 20" grip kit connector, using heat shrink tubing, to it. I'm trying to install the heated grips on my 23 tri-glide. I can't seem to find the powered accessory plug on the right side. What color are those wires and did you find it under or over the radio platform? I did comment prior on the original video.

    • @davidmaxwell7029
      @davidmaxwell7029 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @HDVIBE

      The plug on the right side as your looking at the bike are black and red. It will have a dummy plug in it as well. Mine was hard to find but as shown, I found it. If you can't find it, it maybe that the tri Glide uses that plug for another accessory. So in that case you may need to add the power harness harley notes in the instructions. 👊✌️👍
