The Ford GT40 and Ford GT have definitely left a lasting legacy in the automotive world. Built to have one goal - beat Ferrari at their own game. However it wouldn't be until 2016 until the Ford GT would make a return to form and take on the Italian giant once again. Ford decided to have one last swansong for the Ford GT with it's turbo V6 turned all the way up with the Ford GT MK4 Racecar that is available to buy from the public if you have the cash. The old-school F1 cars (I'm just now starting to really get into F1 stuff, it's amazing; I'm from the southeast like David, almost the same area as he grew up in even, so the only motorsport I grew up on is Nascar, lol.), The SVJ, and the Porsche are probably my favorites. I couldn't pick just one, lol.
The both F1 McLarens, the McLaren Senna, and the Porsche that was spitting flames! The back of that Porsche reminded me of a Tedson.

Crazy how ford took inspiration from the SVO Mustang (84 Duck face) to introduce Ecoboost into their lineup back in 2010. I owe a 2014 Taurus SHO and it is the most slept on car

Ford used Mazda (That they owned back then) to really test the Ecoboost engines before releaseing them, the engines in the Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed6, and CX-7 were all basically test beds for the Ecoboost.
The MP4/6 is my favorite F1 car ever. The last V12 and last manual to win. 780hp at 15,000RPM and 970lbs. Could you even imagine!? Those specs with no driver aids and an H pattern!

Fun fact, the Ford Gt was in the "middle" power setting of 700hp at the Sonoma Raceway press release. Thats only 40 more hp than the standard GT. It has a "high" power setting of 800hp.

Videos like this make me go "I should get a Ford". Then I go to Fords website and go "Oh yah, there aren't any Fords made for the working class anymore. Everything is 32k and up." Ford has lost its way.
Working class is quite a large group dude im in working class and my gt350 was 50k its all about what you can genuinely afford but tbf NOTHING is cheap anymore

I have that game for the PlayStation 2 video game console made by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Damn, I still gotta play it! I watched a friend play it once when I was a kid, but I could never get hold of a copy.
I'm currently re-playing Hot Pursuit 2 for the bazillionth time. I can finally play it on PC again through Lutris (which also allowed me to play Need for Speed II for the first time since playing it at the daycare), since I switched to Linux. I have the GameCube version too, but it's not quite the same cause they translated the cop radio calls and the car information to German in the German GameCube version, whereas in the German PC version, they left the original audio with all the various American dialects in. It was great fun growing up and understanding a little bit more of what they're saying every time I picked up the game again 😅
I also highly recommend the remaster of Hot Pursuit (2010). It's also a great game, also features the F1 and it even has active online play!
The entire Hot Pursuit series is just pure gold and if they made another one, I would even ore-order despite the recent state of the franchise!

Someone doesn’t understand how Lemans works… The Ford GT won in the GTE-PRO class once in 2016, Porsche won the race with the 919 Hybrid. To ‘win’ Lemans you have to win overall in the top class LMH/LMdH (used to be LMP1)

A class win is still a win, goes on the books. And don't forget their 4 overall wins in a row from '66 to '69, to make you happy.
@@r0b3rt_959, Porsche has a minimum of 16 victories (as many as 19 depending if you count the Dauer and the TWR cars). Ferrari has 10 outright victories. Ford doesn't even begin to measure up against pedigrees like that. I love the GT40s, but the Ford GT doesn't get any more respect from me than a 488 GTB, V8 Vantage, or a 911 GT3. They're all Le Mans winners if we're going to count class victories.

How is it Ferrari's worst nightmare when the race in different classes in the WEC and Ferrari doesn't even have a factory effort in IMSA? I think the Ford vs Ferrari comparison is over played, they are two very different brands and the only that really connects them is Le Mans.

Ferrari is worried about all their competitors and rarely allow comparative testing published against other brands. This particular GT is one car they will not agree to be compared to. The MK2 version already made minced meat out of the Senna at Laguna

Ferrari could give a monkeys about anything Ford does. They make exceptional cars and have never chased the top speed game. The GT is one car that doesn't match Ferrari in anything except top speed.

230kph is only 143mph I've been in an EG Civic that was going faster. Personally done over 160mph on a sport bike. Using the KPH speed is only a flex to Americans that can't do the math on the fly. Remember folks 100kph is 62mph which is a huge reason 0-60mph is used as the benchmark and typically the redline in 2nd gear on most performance vehicles.
Going 140MPH into turn 11 is legit insane. I’ve driven Sonoma quite a bit, and it’s a track you can’t mess around with. Just shows the braking power is incredible.
But were you racing on a narrow track like Sonoma going that fast in a Civic hatchback or a bike? I think not, lol. He only said the KPH speed because it's what the car was displaying on the dash. 140+ MPH is still fast AF, especially leading into a tight turn.
@@ThatDudeinBlue Didn't say it wasn't impressive. But using the metric measurement which the American audience typically can not equate to a speed they understand is a little bit for shock factor especially when your primary viewer is in the USA seems disingenuous.
