This comic deals with most of the cast's realistic reactions after hearing the truth come out. While most people could eventually forgive Sunny for accidentally pushing his sister down a flight of stairs. Staging her suicide & making everyone have to deal with the consequences of that decision for four years...
Well, both Sunny & Basil would be lucky if they could ever establish contact with their friends again...

they would probably do, honestly, regardless of the circumstance! but it wouldn't be in an instant though (spoilers ahead)
i do think AUBREY would be the first to forgive SUNNY because she was very close to him, aside from just MARI (and you can say, yes, they may have to used to be close, but get this:) it was also implied by the game that she still cares about him by a lot, even though she's been hiding that fact except for that time they were at the swings on ONE DAY LEFT as well as right before they went to the treehouse and go to sleep in BASIL's HOUSE. and after all, she almost did the same thing to BASIL, so she would definitely come into terms and would soon enough forgive SUNNY and BASIL
it depends on who would be the second and third to forgive SUNNY actually, it's a mixed bag and would take a much longer time than AUBREY would do. KEL would be in absolute denial of THE TRUTH despite being very close to SUNNY and BASIL during their childhood, and would find himself in grief for such a thing. he literally wanted to cope up with the "suicide" by making new friends and staying positive despite everything happening, so i imagine him getting more emotionally mature. however i still do think KEL would forgive them both considering the fact that he continuously knocked on SUNNY's door and begged him to go outside, and when SUNNY did, SUNNY made (and later broke in THE TRUTH) the friendgroup again in just a matter of three days (although it would most likely be remade, again, if both the three did come into terms with THE TRUTH)
and HERO, as i said on my comment earlier, he could be unpredictable given the fact he too did not want to worry anyone, but more specifically KEL and his parents ever since he snapped in front of KEL one time, though he would understand SUNNY on a certain degree since he locked himself in his room too for just a year and instead take the blame on BASIL, but it would still nonetheless devastate him to the fact that he could be depressed once again, after all they both hid it for four years straight to a person who loved her girlfriend so deeply that he thought "if he was there he could have prevented everything." he would definitely take a while to forgive SUNNY and BASIL, but as said earlier KEL could be the last one to forgive them so it depends
holy hell this took a LOT more time than I expected, but it was worth the lore drop for me

I believe you're correct that Aubrey, after taking some time to reflect on the truth coming out would be the first person to forgive both boys for what happened considering she would have accidentally killed both Basil & Sunny if Hero had not intervened in the lake incident. Kel, the bright ray of sunshine he is, would be in denial over the whole affair. He'd be utterly heartbroken over his attempts to bring the gang back together falling apart.
Hero is the wild card, truthfully, I can't see him forgiving the two boys for staging Mari's suicide, the psychological toll her 'suicide' would have taken on him during the four-year time gap between the incident & the truth coming out can't be rolled back & Hero has clearly not moved on emotionally from Mari's death from few scenes we catch of him in the game. If Hero were to ever reconnect with either Sunny or Basil, I doubt he would hang out with them, there would be too much of an emotional chasm for him to cross especially as he's studying to become a doctor which would be more important.
I should have clarified earlier that while I could forgive Sunny & Basil for their actions. That's only because of the time we spent with them in-game & getting a solid insight into their mental states & emotions. Both boys are clearly traumatised by the event & the guilt of their actions would have inevitably driven both to suicide as their mental health has deteriorated to the point of having episodes of disassociation & psychosis.
My main point was that realistically, the situation would be far too damaging in real life for most friend groups who had been affected by the cover-up to ever end in any sort of forgiveness but things could always turn out differently considering the ambiguous nature of the ending.

Most likely Basil would be placed in a mental health facility and probably placed on suicide watch, dude needs it too probably, especially after sunny leaves, that kind of teauma aint just going away, sunny gets to start over in a new place, basil is left to deal with the aftermath, even knowing what happened i just cant be mad at basil, kid was young and likely mentally unstable/suicidal already when the event happened and the odds of him still attempting such a thing are probably still high
@@rubywolf5296While I see the point you’re making, I think any ending other than the friend group EVENTUALLY forgiving the boys completely goes against everything the game builds in its ~20 hour duration. The game has major themes of forgiveness and friendship. Sunny’s whole headspace is about him spending time with his old friends he misses (while also covering up his trauma and whatnot). In the real world, he rebuilds his friendships with his friends and we see how much they all care about him and vice versa.
Not only that, but Mari’s constantly watching over him and guiding him toward healthy coping mechanisms and helping him to see things clearly. Despite everything that Sunny did, it’s heavily implied that she already forgave him; he just needs to forgive himself.
Sunny’s relationship with his friend group is extremely special. What they have (and had) is something truly beautiful. Even after years of no contact, Kel was always at Sunny’s door, Hero saved his and Basil’s life and Aubrey is shown to still care about and worry for Sunny despite her new friend group and punk disguise. I think if they can forgive Sunny, then by extension, they can give Basil too.
It’s what Mari would want.

There was a giant thing of omori art from when it was being developed with 3 pictures with hero kel and Aubrey all looking shocked and disgusted. It’s theorized that’s how they reacted.

History likes to repeat itself. They will all begin to isolate themselves again, and if any of them do forgive, Kel will be the first, just like before. Sunny's four years of pain are unimaginable to me. Every piece of omori material i see feels so real yet so impossible at the same time. Their reactions in this comic seem very fitting for their characters :C
i could definitely see something like this happen, based on my observations from the exhibit reactions and the comic
AUBREY would definitely be in anger and denial, but would later cry as soon as the realization sets in, though it can still be in a mix of anger because she doesn't want to look vulnerable
KEL didn't want to believe it was all true and would feel sad about it
HERO is a little unpredictable though, after all he had snapped in front of KEL before. he could let all his emotions he's been hiding out or, as perceived by the comic, decide to hold it in
overall I give this comic, the dub, and the storyline execution/lore accuracy a 10/10

I like the sequence where SUNNY and BASIL hugged and said sorry to each other, it feels in character for them to do that

Here's what I think how Kel, Aubrey and Hero would forgive both Sunny and Basil.
For Kel, I imagined him rushing outside to say goodbye to Sunny one last time. Though he still hasn't fully forgiven him and Basil as he is in denial about the truth that Sunny told him and the others, he wishes Sunny good luck at his new home and hopes he can make new memories with his new friends, but will always try to stay in touch with Sunny. I would think he can forgive both Sunny and Basil, but will take time for him to actually forgive the two, but will still be in touch with him after for at least a few weeks or months after Sunny moved.
For Aubrey and Hero, that's a huge different story as they have been very depressed about Mari's death, and learning that Sunny and Basil staged her death to thinking she killed herself, it's understandable if they didn't forgive them for a while. But eventually, they will learn to accept the truth and would slowly forgive Sunny and Basil. Although I do think Hero would be the second since he didn't react reluctantly furious with Aubrey pushing Basil into the water. For Aubery though, I do think she would forgive them, but her relationship with both Sunny and Basil would never be the same.
But if there's one thing we can agreed on, is that Basil will always have Sunny's back no matter what, even Mari.
I think you have perfectly conveyed what the canonical reaction of Sunny's friends was. To be honest, it was painful to watch, just like the good ending. 😢

I noticed Kel is less hostile than Hero and Aubrey after Sunny told the truth about his older sister's death but the most important thing is that both of Sunny and Basil are free from their guilts and moved on from Mari's death

Если честно, это отличная сцена и такая же отличная визуализация этой сцены, я бы прям сказал что персонажи идеально подходят, но я бы так точно не смог. Эта концовка хоть и считается хорошей и истинной, я бы точно так не смог. У меня достаточно мало друзей, если бы я сказал, что ими дорожу, я бы преуменьшил. То что сделал Санни это же буквально угробил своё отношение с ними. Всё что они нажили за столько лет, все эти фото и воспоминания, оно навсегда останется как фотографии, он никогда не сможет больше по истинному так же с ними общаться. Жизнь это про потери и утраты помимо веселья, но я мне бы точно не хватило духу на подобное. Санни безусловно прав и крайне решителен. Намного больше чем я и огромное количество людей. Спасибо огромное, автор. Спасибо огромное.

I love this so much, it's very in character! I feel really bad saying this but no one else has pointed it out yet so : no matter how in character this is, it isn't actually what would've happened. Not bc it isn't confirmed by the creator but because, canonicall, BASIL was awake when SUNNY told the others the truth, meaning it would actually play out a bit differently, with BASIL also freaking out and finally coming to terms with the fact that SUNNY really did push MARI himself and it wasn't just SOMETHING behind him. ANYWAYS THIS IS REALLY GOOD AND I LOVE IT AND SORRY IF I SEEM LIKE A JERK OR SMTH I JUST NOTICED IT AND HAD TO MENTION IT !!!
