That is one of the most helpful videos I have ever seen! Already got the par cans so you have probably saved me about a £1000 off buying pre wireless ones thanks
Hello DJ Conscientious nice video. You said the charger failed on you after a couple of months and you had to upgrade. Can you please post a link of the kind of charger you upgraded to cause I would like to take on this project. Many thanks
Man you helped me figure out how to make my par light dc powered. I’m waiting on my batter pack! I bought the batter pack that has a male 12v plug and charger!
Noob question here, the voltages in your video were slightly different does that matter? (Batteries were 12.30v and original power supply board was 11.75v)
If you were to use two or more 12 V battery packs wired parallel ...would that extend the hours of operation?? Also, do you know of a PCB float or trickle charger that can be installed on board?
The Amazon AA chargeables are rated at 2,000 mAh each. When fully charged how long does the pack last until you notice the light's output start to dim?
I was also curious...he says they last about 5 hours (out of the box). Did you get a chance to see how long they lasted after charging the batteries overnight? Nice job btw, ty!
Hi DJ Conscientious. loved your video and i converted couple of these so far but mine only last about 10~15 min even after i charged it over night. can you help me how i can make this last to 5 hours please?
I used same battery in video :( 3000mah. It's cool I switch to 5ah battery it got lil bulky but did some mod on body and it work long as I want to now thanks
Hi ya,, stumbled across this vid,, (Fantastic btw), wondering - how long does this light last for using a fully charged pack :) What Mah are you using in the vid as obviously higher Mah the longer the unit will last :) cheeeeeers
+Minnesota Wedding Party the batteries are fine but the chargers were not strong enough to bring the batteries to full capacity after several months of use. Had to upgrade !
I purchased the lights and followed the steps other than used the units 110 to 12v power supply to create a charging adapter. When I plugged the original power supply back to the light to ensure the led lights still lit up the capacitor blew up. I don't understand how that can happen when I essentially reconnected the original power back up. Any idea why that could have happened?
+Bob M I think that would be a smart improvement! Be sure to test your charger with the batteries as mine turned out to not be strong enough after a few months of use.
4 cell might be too many. They probably can handle the extra voltage but if they are discharged below 3v, they are damaged and wont recover. 3 cell range might be closer. A fully charged Li-Poly is 4.2v, a discharged Li-Poly is 9v so a 3 cell pack runs at 12.6v and a 4 cell pack runs at 16.8v.
I am in the process of converting these LED uplgihts. This is awesome and a super money saver!! Has anyone used 10 lithuim batteries to power the light. I don't know a lot about power sources so I don't know if It will provide too much power or just longer lasting power to the light. Any advice from anyone would be great! I have a wedding coming up in a few weeks and I plan to use 16 of these which I converted I just want to make sure they don't start dying towards the end of the reception! -Justin
Lol! I'm still kicking bro. I haven't had time to make any new videos. Life just gets in the way sometimes. I really need to update my channel as I have done a ton of projects since these
It illegal to make your own Lighting to use in a professional industry.. needs to have full testing for safety....don't buy Chinese cheep knock off lights... It's illegal because of patent infringements

This is incredible stuff. I'm going to have to try this on mine!

please can you tell me how to know when the batteries are fully charged???

Can you show me which battery pack you have?
Great video! Have you made any more in the last few years? It seemed the links were old and items no longer available.

Hi DJ Conscientious...what did you end up using to charge the battery pack??
The Amazon AA chargeables are rated at 2,000 mAh each. When fully charged how long does the pack last until you notice the light's output start to dim?
Did you get longer run time out of the Amazon batteries or just better reliability?
How would something like this work for a marq gamut par h7? And would i also be able to add wireless dmx to this?
Would you post links to the lights and materials? Thank you for a great video.
Links posted..Thanks for reminding me.

5 hr's seem to be about the average.

Sorry for late reply but glad you figured it out. I referenced the battery issue in the video notes above.
how can i purchase a ice fog machine

2 questions 1) A year later how are the batteries holding up? 2) Did you use Ni-Cad or Ni-Mah rechargeables?

There must have been a short somewhere. Are you sure you didnt reverse the power connection during the reconnect?
there was a short, after further investigation. Thanks :)
Was anyone able to make these WiFi or dmx with the batteries?
i'm thinking about using lithium ion rechargables for this you will only need 4 of them they are 3.7 volts each you think this will work also
+Bob M I think that would be a smart improvement! Be sure to test your charger with the batteries as mine turned out to not be strong enough after a few months of use.
thanks will do

can you use a lipo battery insted
hi what controller you put in the par 86 led?
videosrecord13 The 86 par led is already a DMX controllable fixture. I only added a battery pack to it.
Great stuff bro!
Very cool!
has anyone done this yet using the original power supply?
+Dave Losh the original power supply will not work as a long term charger, You will need some type of trickle or smart charger.
Are you still alive.. lol.. i see your last videos are years ago

Spend another $8.00 & put a DMX PCB wireless kit and control them via a dmx light controller.

if its CE UL listed then U CAN USE IT!!
