Rachel!! Hi :) I just wanted to share my experience with you because I also had PRK. It was the BEST decision I could have made for a good 10 years. But they don’t tell you that it doesn’t last forever. You will eventually go back to needing glasses. But the biggest thing I want to share is to please make sure you are paying attention to signs of retinal detachment. 10 years after survey, I need glasses again and then a year after that my retina detached and I almost lost my sight completely. I promise I’m not trying to be one of those negative people. I genuinely just wanted to share my experience so you know what to look for later down the line. Love you girl. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck! ❤️😊
Said the song your video that you first talked about it, apple‘s voiceover feature, really a lifesaver for being blind, very helpful screen reader that Apple has made on all of their products. I’ve been blind with no usable sight since 2018 or 2019, my mom has had to use it 100% since 2013, and allows us to be on the Internet
@@mvpgale yep :-) it’s pretty much I can tap anywhere on my iPhone screen or other Apple product if I tap it once it will speak out loud what app or thing I am touching, for instance on the Lock Screen if I tap in certain areas it will tell me out loud the time, date, my battery, all of the different things you can see visually, it will just say it out loud. If I wanna go into some thing I have to double tap, I also use speech to text, which is what I’m using right now to type out this comment because if I did it manually it would be what I call chicken pecking the whole thing which would take an eternity lol. You can go into your settings, if you have an Apple device and go into the accessibility settings tab and go into the vision section in voiceover and go into that and then turn it on to see how everything works
I know you might not be willing to do this because it’s only for a week, but I’m legally blind and I’m able to use audio descriptions while watching TV, voiceover while using my phone, screen readers on my computer to basically do everything that you listed! It might be a fun challenge to try out, maybe a video? I don’t know! Being blind isn’t so bad… You’re so lucky to have a condition that can be corrected through such a simple process.
Hey Rachel! I have been thinking about getting PRK Lasik surgery. Once you feet better could you do an update on how it went? If you felt anything during the "operation" and all that. I am on the fence about it and don't 100% know if I want to do it yet. anyways. best of luck and hope it all goes well and the best of the corrected vision!
I love yerba mates cause they aren't carbonated, it's natural caffeine, and it's like the perfect amount. I usually drink k 1 or 2 cups or coffee in the morning and a yerba at like 3
Rachel please try high ball (berry) energy seltzer! It’s not sweetened, and has honestly changed my life! It’s super natural and contain no chemicals or artificial ingredients. It also really works and I can easily get through an 8 hour shift on only 5 hours of sleep.
My sister had PRK done, she was uncomfortable for a day or two, the best thing to do after surgery is to sleep/rest in a DARK room, as dark as you can get it. I think the recovery will be better than you are anticipating!
Every eye laser thing has risk. The only option that is fully reversible is an implant extra lens as they add it in and can be removed. But even that has side effects. I'm hoping all goes well 🤞🏻❤️
Rachel*if you have an iPhone go to your accessibility in settings and turn on voice over. You still would not be able to do recordings of stuff very well of course but you can still check emails and text messages and everything using voice over on your iPhone. That's how we blind people use our phones and iPads and iPads etc. You can do anything almost anything lol with voiceover. You can use dictate on your keyboard you probably have to activate it in your settings also. And that way you can text message people, You can FaceTime you can go on Facebook and do everything on it. All of it is by sound Not site.
Molly Burke is a youtuber that talks about how they go about things while blind. She has talked about using the accessibility settings on her phone so she can navigate it without her eyes. Maybe this can be helpful to you when your eyes are recovering.
If you would turn on voiceover now, then you could get used to it so you can know how to use it without driving yourself and everyone around you crazy LOL. It does take a little bit of time to get used to. You can turn it on and it will give you one setting gives you hints on how to use it. Once you are used to it then you can turn the hints off. Trust me it's amazing! It will allow you to stay independent while girlfriend is at work, Because you'll still be able to text message people and get on Facebook and check emails and everything. Place calls.
Biggest mistake I ever made was messing with my eyes. I wanted to scream at you through the tv to NOT do the PRK. All. This eye surgery nonsense is not permanent, including cataract surgery.
Another video that's title and thumbnail consists of her dog being hurt. A bee sting, that wasn't evan proven actually happend. There's nothing more mundane then talking about being stung by a bee, nevermind a dog. Please, someone, anyone, why is that entertaining??? Why is a random dog maybe, maybe not getting stung interesting?
The way little dog walked into the living room when Rachel was talking 🤣 a whole grand entrance, we love lil dog 🥰

may i ask how it works? for instance if you want to open an app does it tell you which app you open?

yes!! I was going to comment that it would be a cool video for Rachel to learn how to use voiceover throughout her screen-less week
I had cataracts removed. Eyes are amazing. No pain. None!! I had to be careful. But no pain. It was amazing. Good luck.
And im so happy blaze is okay
Blaze is cool, hugs. Have a great Easter Sunday Rachel; huge hugs.
I just got Lasik the other week and it's incredible. Excited for you
My 72 year old bonus Mom had Lasik a few years ago and it went well. Do not worry. You can do this! 😃👍❤️
Good luck with your eye surgery Rachel. Thanks for the vlogs ☺️

I immediately got a Gatorade ad after your energy drink shot😂

Hello’s people hope all of guys had a great day
Rachel: the eye has a flap that gets cut open.
Me: *throws up* legit fear of things to do with eyes 😅
Good luck with the PRK! I got it 10 years ago and don’t regret it one bit.
Ooh poor blaze he is benadryl high love his heart

Poor Blaze baby 🥺

🐝 Over the weekend my German Shepherd caught a bee in her mouth for the first time. She spent the next hour licking a bowl of ice
Omg lmao I wonder if she realized what her hoodie says I love it
Since she’s wearing the hoodie, I would assume she does! 😁
Poor baby boy to blaze I feel bad for blaze

Your eye surgery is on my birthday I hope it goes well 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤

Is lasik done while you're asleep?
The fact you didn't blur out the word fuck has made me feel closer to you.
Proud momma over here 🤗😂
You should do a overhead with little dog
Poor Buddy!! 🐶😔
My brithday is on the 26th lmao😊
Try the peach mango 5 hour energy, it’s so much better than the berry flavor
At 0:50 did anybody notice the word on her sweatshirt!!!
I know I was like ummm..youtube might not like that but I like the shirt 😊😁
She said we don't blink when we watch screens however I've blinked multiple times during this video
👍❤️
How is blaze
❤️👍🙏🙂🙂🙂🙂❤️🇨🇦
😎😃😊😜😍😘💖

Monster rehab drinks aren’t carbonated but they’re obviously not healthy. Nice for a road trip though. My fav is the peach flavor!
Love you
My pit ate a bee and got stung in the process…maybe that is what happened to Blaze.
You should try Monster Hydro Energy Waters.........They aren't Carbonated.
Love you and girlfriend!
Second! I love you.!!
Try yerba mate, it’s not carbonated. It’s an the lower end for caffeine but yeah
you should get an ag-1 sponser many youtubers say its very energizing
Celsius has green tea energy drinks that aren’t carbonated!
Hi
The day before her eye surgery I get my braces off
Try G fuel, no sugar and 25 calories and it keeps me awake. It’s great and tastes amazing. Many gamers use it.
Well welcome back to the 80s 90s lol
I have had this surgery. Do your self a favor and have a dark room set up for after surgery. :)
Hello luv you
Yea 202 was the worst year but the 2018 rewind????😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Uncharted is AMAZING!! I also love Tom Holland🥰🥰
What do you mean you don't blink when you look at screens Rachel?👀Haha I don't think that's as common as ur making it sound.
It’s actually very common that people blink less when looking at screens, can lead to dry eyes
I def suggest audio books when you can't see.
It would be fun if girlfriend filmed
set up spoken content on your phone and it can read your emails for you 👍
**Rachel, or someone who knows Rachel personally!**If you have an iPhone turn on voiceover! Man I wish you checked your comments lol.

Little dog is such a lady lol
I accidentally disliked yesterdays video but immediately liked. Hope I didn’t cause your channel any damage! 😬
And I watched Uncharted with my biological family when they were here where I live
Poor blaze looks so miserable. 1 Benadryls for every 25 lbs should help bring his swelling down
Those little hairs would not be an issue if you had an undercut. Just putting that out there!
Second

Just fyi I think the 5 hour energy drink is supposed to be half the bottle, not the whole thing.

Y are not sorry
You really can’t just take a week off? Turn on auto reply! This is toxic
She should really take out the cheap jewelry out of her nose. It could leave a weird color on her nose.
