I haven't played this yet. But from what I've seen it makes you understand vass's perspective more makes you wonder if Jason was the villain all along. Specially how crazy Jason was. Or would it be citra because she was a master manipulator. Used both of them like pawns. I long for a version or timeline of this game where they just teamed up and defeat her.
I'd say Citra was the "real" antagonist between the 3 of them due to how she manipulated and drove both Vaas and Jason into the "path of the warrior" for her own ends; this ultimately led to Vaas and Jason's (towards the end of FC3) unstable state of mind. In the end, both Vaas and Jason were technically victims of circumstances, manipulation and mental degradation.

He just killed Citra by accident after she tried to protect Jason.
They killed Jason’s brother and also attempted to kill the rest of his friends and family. Jason wasen’t the villain he was the underdog who became a monster to save his friends from the real villains lol. Sure he was being manipulated but Vaas deserved Jason’s wrath

Both are manipulated by Citra to be her warrior, be her slave, to her bidding.

It's weird seeing Pagan with Ajay and all of them like a family, that's probably in his head since Ajay never met his half sister. But ye I think this dlc will be better. Another thing that came to my eye are the takedowns - refers to the villain's personal item
Pagan - the golden pen, Joseph - the Book of Revelation, I didn't see Vaas' weapon of choice though. Also another thing. Since we didn't see too much of Gus in 6, although it would've been insane if we could play as him when he was captured by the guerrillas with his father. I hope Ubisoft don't miss this opportunity.
@@Jacket_355 it took me a few times to see it but in the standard takedowns, Vaas uses the Rakyat knife from FC3 but the regular machete for death from above takedowns

Ubisoft did a pretty good job so far on this dlc the voice actor is just perfect and the gameplay actually pretty new for a Ubisoft game

6:04 I find this line interesting because Vaas was right about Jason going crazy and going down the same path as him in FC3 and yet here Jason embodies his self-doubts and he mocks himself for not being as normal as Jason? So is Vaas jealous of Jasons past life where he had family and friends? Since he always talked about family/ people close to you and how he admired Jason for sticking to them in FC3 and this DLC also shows how Citra used him despite being his sister and how that weighed on him.
Jason were much cooler and chill in Far Cry 3 and not so crazy and sadistic, but hey I guess that’s how Vaas saw him like

Vaas was onto a lot with "we are the same" - they both tried to please Citra, but Vaas gave up on it because he was tired of being emotionally blackmailed by family. Jason didn't give up, but that made him even scarier

Honestly the best dlc to ever come to Far Cry, and they say this game is bad.
Well it is
Far cry 6 is bad, this dlc is only good because its weaponised nostalgia and feels like and is written the same way as far cry 3. They have to imitate a better game than the one they made in order to grab peoples attention. That is just so sad
@@derangedcrouton1864 Sad or not, I consider 6 to be worth it just for these DLCs alone. I agree that the base game sucked and it was a terrible Far Cry in every way possible but the DLCs really fleshed out the characters I was most interested. They gave these classic villains so much more depth and I absolutely adore this "inside the mind of" angle they went with. And it's not even nostalgia for me since I played Far Cry for the very first time just a couple years ago and I've been obsessed ever since.
So nostalgia isn't necessarily the only thing it has going for it, it's more like 3 mini sequels that understand what made the originals so good. It's just a damn shame that they happen to be attached to a shitty knock-off that kinda looks like Far Cry if you squint real hard.

Good to know, I played this entire DLC on hard and never died once, so I newer saw this ^^
I liked this so much more than the Pagan one, which is weird because I also love Pagan (haven’t played the Joseph one yet). But idk, something about Vaas & Citra & their environment lent itself perfectly for this type of DLC. Vaas is a violent druggie with multiple undiagnosed mental issues & traumatic experiences, so of course playing through his fucked up mind makes sense. Plus the dying over & over again is perfect for the whole “definition of insanity” thing. I saw him through a much more sympathetic lens & felt for him. Plus he made me fucking laugh lmao.
Michael Mando is such a great actor and I can’t imagine anyone else as Vaas. Also whoever plays Jason did a great job at sounding like a pompous villain in this DLC while still sounding like the Jason Brody we met at the beginning of FC3. God I love Far Cry 3.

Yes, she is, however it's not reconning, since it was implied that Vaas would be fucking his sister in FC3, had he fully followed through with being her warrior.

We are seeing this from Vaas's perspective so he seems less villainous and Jason seems more psychopathic because they were enemies so they see each other as the bad guys. Whereas Citra played the same role in both their stories, the manipulator.

i didn't understand WHEN this DLC is placed.
So Jason comes, Vaas stabs him with the tribal knife, which could've actually been Vaas injecting Jason with a syringe full of lore, etc. Jason defeats vaas and he open his eyes.
Now, i think, Vaas was seeing this DLC while you two were ''fighting'' (just two drug addicts having the worst trip of their life on the floor) and Vaas is alive because he got sobber first and remembered the things he saw in the DLC. and that could be a reason of why he lets jason go instead of finish him off (or idk, it's vaas). also, you can't see Vaas's actual body on the floor like Buck or Hoyt. when you wake up citra is there simping you, so yeah, i think it makes sense that or he actually got sobber first and left, or the rakyat forgot or didn't care enough to check if vaas was actually dead.

How does this dlc work I know it’s like if you die you restart but I want to know more
If you die you lose absolutely everything and have to restart from the beginning. BUT the armory cases and your permanent skills you unlock will always stay with you.
Quitting at a safe house let's you keep all your stuff, but resets all location progress and you have to do the main mission all over again

Far Cry has been one of the most polarising game series to me, for one, I love the stories and the characters, but for the other part I despise Ubisoft's business practices and repeating the same gameplay formula for the Far Cry games, oh well, funny man say definition of insanity.
