Trevor, what a lovely treat to hear your mom sing. Her beautiful and clear voice is reminiscent of Teddi King (and that's quite a compliment). Your dad's work never ceases to astound.

Trevor.... What a thrill to finally hear these recordings of your wonderful Mom, singing these iconic orchestrations (along with Jud Conlon's chorus). Her voice is impressive and lovely. I've long hoped that recordings existed of your Mom working out the arrangements with the stunning CBS Orchestra, and we are all grateful that you are sharing them with the world.
Last, but not least..... the legendary Mort Lindsey..... how proud you must be of your family's incomparable contribution to the history of popular music, and for your Dad's sensitive and inventive arrangements, that allowed Miss Garland to soar to the highest heights, only she was capable of. Many thanks. A fine tribute to your folks.

Wow that's my favorite episode of the series 25 I believe and your mom on the Gordon Jenkins arr of Gotta right to sing the blues is fantastic! Also this is my favorite version of Just in time and to here her so I clearly and correctly singing the ending is a revelation that is a killer arr for those changes and modulations and she's gorgeous throughout - Thanks so much for posting

Your Mom has a wonderful voice. And your Dad, of course, is a brilliant musician. Judy was blessedly surrounded with wonderful musicians that have contributed with that Garland magic on stage. ❤️

My father certainly was one of the greats at arranging and composing. I remember him sitting at the piano with a music score in front of him and I was always amazed at how he was able to work out the notes on the piano with his left hand, and write them down so quickly with his right hand on the paper. Most amazing was that it was often for an 80 piece orchestra, and he was creating all the parts for each instrument right then and there off the top of his head!

Thank you so much for posting this. Your mom's voice and musicality are amazing. So nice to hear the kind of singer from an era when singers really knew what good music was about. And she obviously felt what these songs were about. These are really lovely heartfelt performances and don't sound just like someone trying to help a rehearsal. Your dad had good taste in singers, and of course his work on that show was so phenomenal. I also remember him fondly from the Merv Griffin show while growing up in the 1970s. Thank you so much! You should be very proud to come from musical greats like that.

Mort Lindsey provided the best accompaniment of Judy's career, and once they parted company, things were never the same. Most notably, starting in 1967, everything got speeded up. Judy needed someone with sound musicianship and integrity to reel Judy in.

@@trevorlindsey580 That’s amazing! Did your dad do any of the arrangements or was he just Judy’s musical director? I had read somewhere that Mel Torme wrote the arrangements for the tv show. Thanks again for sharing this! 😊

@@dianepancel-pierce4478 Mel may have done a few, but most of the arrangements were my father's. I can remember him sitting at the piano playing parts with his left hand while he furiously wrote parts for each instrument in that large orchestra on massive staff paper with his right. That was when he was in his element, and when you listen to the music, you can really hear his signature on those songs.

A really lovely nice and tight band singer sound. Excellent. Oddly, Garland has been quoted as feeling her basic sound was inferior to the fran warrens of the world in some ways. Its a funny world.
