I bet Dave Pirner is glad he wrote such great lyrics and songs so long ago. He can play them now at the older age that he is, and not have to cringe. I am older now too, and the lyrics still seem brilliant!
Underrated to people who don't know good music. Which is most people. Dan's death was sad because it was way before senility. Soul Asylum keeps plugging and releasing albums. Touring, but Dave is the only original member, I do believe. I think "Hurry up and Wait" was the last one I knew about a few yrs ago. It was really, really good
@@keepingitreal5533just saw SA has a European tour coming up. And Dan’s band, Scarlet Goodbye has some great new music. Glad they are both staying busy even tho separately.
@amarx6248 Yes I've definitely been following Dan's music with the Scarlet Goodbye and I really enjoy it. They just posted a full concert in a park along with some shorter broken down videos and it's great. I do wish that things ended better with Dave, but that's the music business I guess 🥹❤️🎸
Where am I? Sitting outside Columbus, Ohio. Listening to great music. Hoping they put out another CD soon. "Hurry up and Wait" was really good a few years ago. I know he still tours because I get on the website occasionally. Hope he comes here to Columbus.
Always loved this song. What great lyrics. "Who is that hound in the downtown dog pound who speaks english when the watchmans not in sight?" You can't beat that. Well maybe "The lovely ms liberty is just another.........."
"Never really been" has been the first song I learned to play. I still love to play it. Thank you Soul Asylum for this and all the other great songs you guys made!

Soul Asylum has always meant a lot to me, very underrated band in my opinion. Dave still sounds great, sure do miss Dan Murphy though.
