    For those wondering what happened to the thieves.... We have no idea. They left all their gas cans and tools behind, and were nowhere to be found by the time anyone got there.

    Removable Fenders!!! Who’d a thunk ???
    On my own Tandem trailer I welded a 2” receiver on it beneath the bottom edge and use a insert with a pulley, it works the same way as you do with the soft shackles, but centered. I also have the hand crank wench that I can keep tension on it so it doesn’t roll away! Great video Casey!

    Thanks for another good video, unbelievable what people will go through and risk for gasoline and catalytic converters. I have rented many u-hauls over the years, I have only had to call for service one time while renting. I had rented a double axle enclosed trailer, all the tires looked fine till I loaded it, then I noticed one was low on air, I aired it up then went for a short drive to make sure I had the trailer loaded properly before I left early the next morning on a 750 mile trip. I rechecked the tire about 30 minutes later and it had lost about 10 psi. I called u-haul customer service, within 45 minutes of my call a man showed up and put on a new tire and wheel, I was so happy with the prompt service and the professionalism of the service provider.

    One sat waiting for his mate to set fire to the insurance job ready to drive them away quick,five minutes went by,ten minutes went by and boom...
    Lad in the getaway car seen his mate clear the hedge and land in the road smouldering.
    Turned out the petrol he'd poured inside wouldn't light with matches thrown in so he leaned inside and lit one instead.
    He survived but had no hair and looked like a beetroot for months.

    When tarping loads, the elastic "cargo nets" sold at Harbor Freight do a good job holding the tarp in place and minimizing flapping and tearing of the tarp. The elastic nets steady the tarp in many more places than one can do with ratchet straps. Obviously, the load has to be secured independently of the tarp and elastic net.

    • @i486DX66

    • @richardthomas1743
      @richardthomas1743 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@i486DX66 I will guarantee that the only thing an insurance claim would be filed on would be the total loss of a vehicle. There would not be a claim filed on stolen gas , drilled gas tanks , cut gas tank fill pipes , stolen batteries , stolen catalytic converters and other thefts like that. That is being paid for out of somebodies pocket "Probably U Haul".. That means that they are also paying out of pocket for the labor to have those problems taken care of. If they filed a claim for all losses the Insurance company would quickly drop them and they would have no insurance at all.

    • @Bama1963
      @Bama1963 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@richardthomas1743 yep, like most other retailers they figure in what they are going to average in losses due to theft and add that into the price of their products or services to compensate so the honest good folks pay for the criminal actions

    • @i486DX66
      @i486DX66 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@richardthomas1743 possibly. I know that commercial insurance policies are different than personal and you can get coverage for just about anything, just a matter of cost. Either way cost just gets passed onto the consumer. They won't pay someone $15 / hr to watch a lot. Cameras, lighting, maybe a wall with retired police guard dog inside would make more sense than hiring people.

    Enjoyed the video. Tweakers cause so much property damage!
    As others said...the tweakers likely had a brushed drill...

    Those Dewalt blowers work great for cleaning off trailers. I hear they aren't too bad for blowing leaves either!

    Good job Casey! I know it’s money in your pocket and u-haul will write it off on their insurance but in the end we all pay and when gas hit $7.00 per gallon you’re gonna be a busier man.
