And then quadstrike is f'ing garbage how they have a protagonist using a really powerful beyblade then destroyed by a hasbro beyblade that let's be real would even cut it close to winning which would have a nice new japanese beyblade (Japanese version) that would be nice to collect and use, but hasbro had to sponsored the anime and now we get crap while tarka tomy is attempting actually produced something good

Loved to the video! One thing I would add is that Hasbro always tries to ship their products to Beyblade influencers to try and get appeal to the public. And what they did for quad drive I think exemplify that they knew what they were doing was going to get hate because vanish Fafnir is a part of the first wave yet it is the only first way Beyblade not to be sent to influencers. Just because they knew it would get backlash.
This is a very good point! People like the BBGs get all this product to review and kind of just kiss up to Hasbro. I definitely have more respect for honest reviewers like Zankye who aren't afraid to say what they actually feel about the product, rather than finding only positive things to say.

No, they do not care at all.
Only two things I want to mention. The teeth vs slopes argument is more of Burst Resistance vs Durability as slopes last longer than teeth, and as shown by early Hasbro, specifically Nightmare Luinor, the burst resistance can be on par if not better than the TT counterpart. Also we don't actually get a minimum of 30-40 unique beys especially from TT. I'm pretty sure the max we've gotten was 23-25 and what makes it worse is that both Sparking and DB have had significantly less unique beyblades.
Besides those 2 things, I really liked this video and found it very entertaining. I don't usually watch many "Hasbro Slander" videos as while I agree with them, a lot of the time they restate the same points again and again, but this was a pretty high quality first video.

The funny thing is if you think about it TT did make some changes to make the products more marketable, they made changes to make money, but they did it in a way that was still fine with fans

For burst seasons 1-2 you could still see hasbro cutting corners or really not caring. Major one being lost longinus(I don't know the hasbro name) having no metal for the dragons and wild wyvern not coming with orbit and instead magnum. Nightmare Longinus would come with less metal, Req no blue god chip, strike valkyrie still having functioning springs and Twin not coming with 3h and instead 2. Galaxy Zeus wouldn't originally come with the gimmick and when it did it was a re color.

GGGGREAT JOB on the video, it really got to the point, and good ones were they. Though, I have to say, Quaddrive is probably Hasbro fully giving up on Beyblade; the fact that they lose to their own products (Dual and God layers, might I add) says that they simply don't care.
I actually have a theory about why Hasbro beys have less burst resistance. So if a kid is watching the anime and sees they beys always burst, and doesn’t understand how burst resistance works, they will want to get the same result with their toys but if the beys have good burst resistance and nothing happens the kid may think that the beys are broken or don’t work correctly because they aren’t bursting. Because of that, Hasbro deliberately makes the slopes weaker than teeth.
Doubt. Hasbro even hollows out parts and purposely makes them terrible to cut costs. On top of that, to make themselves look good, they fake reviews to make themselves look good. They even have those theyvspodner on TH-cam follow a policy that says they can't badmouth or criticse the product
They are even doing this terrible sales tactic where they pro series packs have the Takara Tomy logo on them, in plain sight to trick people into thinking it's a takara bey
I recently got into beyblade and asked a forum what I should take note of. Nearly every reply was "don't buy hasbro" or some variant of it. In particular I had figured "maybe I'll get roar balkesh, since bahamut is like 200 dollars", and someone broke down the differences. It's hard to believe that a big toy company like hasbro could basically be selling bootlegs as official products.
Also Glory Ragnar absolutely got gutted.Like it isn't even funny.
Yeah getting a Hasburst bey only to compare it to TT is asking for death. Luckily so far the pictures of Beyblade X don't look like a bootleg budget.

I enjoyed this longer think piece. It was what you do on tiktok but more thought provoking. Also I thought with the plastic gen they just repackaged the takara tops in english packaging this was interesting. I just hope 5 years down the lind when they reboot again they just bring the stuff from japam
Fingers crossed! Most of the original series stuff was essentially repackaged, but a few beys had minor differences. Why they did this, I have no idea, but the original series tops aren't really known for their performance so it wasn't as noticeable back then as it is now.
The part of the story most people are missing is why hasbro beys are like this. The youtube channel Kohdak did a video a few years ago about why turning mecard failed in the west that explains it perfectly (linked here: th-cam.com/video/MwzoYJHnj24/w-d-xo.html). To summarize there are some important cultural differences between Eastern and Western countries that impact the toy industry in their respective regions. In countries like Japan and Korea the quality of a toy is a huge selling point while in the west it's all about bang for your buck. Ultimately Turning Mecard failed primarily because it was being sold at the same quality and price as the ones in Korea. When you think about it Hasbro's approach with beyblades is just because they're being cheap, but because it's the approach that makes sence. Hasbro knows that the older collectors that want the full quality products are just going to import them anyways, and a parent is not very likely to spend $20+ on a single top that their kid is probably just going to end up breaking. When it comes to the pro series line it is really only something Hasbro can do in moderation. Like I said earlier, most hardcore collectors are just going to import beys regardless, and parents aren't going to be willing to pay for the pro series beys, so despite the amount of people asking Hasbro for TT style beys, there isn't actually a very big market for them, and if Hasbro went all in with pro series, beyblade in the west would fail.

That argument would be great, if it wasn't for the fact that in plastic gen and metal Fight pre fury, the quality was on par with takara
@@christianbrooks399 you have to realize that plastic gen and mfb beys were a lot cheaper than modern burst beys. The avarage price of a starter in mfb and plastic gen is less than half of what a booster is in burst. Even with inflation these prices are far from the retail price for burst. These are prices hasbro can get away with in the west, but that doesn't mean they can get away with the $20 retail prices we're seeing for burst beys. The reason they could do full quality for plastic gen and mfb is the same reason they could do full quality for the first two seasons of burst. Also don't forget that hasbro did have to do the same thing with mfb once we got to metal fury. Full quality 4:D beys only came out later in the legends line; the main release for thise beys were downgraded.

While I know nothing about Burst, Metal Fury was a DARK time knowing so many beyblades were flat out robbed & then given the right combos but incorrect colors and not every bey got released in the first place like Takara Tomy

I agree and love this video! but you forgot to talk about the burst gimmicks in cho-z, superking and dynamite battle. in cho-z the spring in the burst stopper are weak and burst all the time from Valkyrie/Valtryek, Achilles, Spriggan/Sprizen. In Superking on World Spriggan. And Dynamite battle/BU, Belial/Belfyre in the layer, and Greatest Raphael the ring mode and the burst stopper. Also there is the gimmicks of BU/Quadstrike. Hasbro does not even incorporate any details like colours, stickers, and gimmicks (cheap ways not the pro series). And that's all.

The one time hasbro tried really was switchstrike, since they actually sort of looked like the takara tomy versions, and they kept there abilities, *the only switchstrike bey that didnt do well was strike valtryek*

This past year I just decided to go all in and check out beyblade, I have a mixture of Takara and Hasbro, and keep them on separate sides of the case. That way my smaller family members know who to pit against who. I think it's a great and competitive sport once people get in and enjoy their first victory. Thanks for the history on it all, I want to get some of those old school metal masters ones that use the tool as well.
They should bring back the metal series tbh they look way more iconic and recognisable than the burst ones

It was a huge part of my childhood. I had some very rare blayblades metal Fusion. But ofc the plastic decayed due to the heat of summer in my country. It was like 9-10 years ago I had them. Many broke cause of excess use (fighting) and I remembered every one in the school had them. it was an absolute hit back then but it suddenly disappeared and no one talked about it. If I get my hands on any one of them I will buy it right there. Btw I mostly had the American version.
the QuadDrive string launcher broke on the first day I used it; and it wasn't even good!
If hasbro doesn't fix thier ways anytime soon then the next generation of beyblade will have to dig a grave for itself

Just one note:
The editing out of mode changes has always been there, even in season 1 and 2 of the dub. The dub cut out the time that Shu first adjusted his launcher from his right-hand to his left-hand grip, since hasbro's launcher system was just....horrible, and was nowhere near the customizable potential of TT.
Next season, they won't have any launchers, and the entire bey will be one giant piece of hollow plastic

If you want to be more accurate about Quaddrive, theres been only 2 releases where the beys dont burst within 5 seconds in battle. Since the slopes were garbage

Based on what I've heard from some toy youtuber named "Nick's Nerd Cave", Hasbro has been like this since around the metal gen. The 1st season was quite good but after that they do exactly like what it is now. They can get away with these lowly budgeted made products because they know that a sizeable amount of their audience is children(Not that they think kids are stupid, but I guess trying not to confuse them). While for TT, they know that everyone loves beyblade(As in like all ages). Who knows but yeah, that's all I gotta say. Nice vid though.
Yeah Hasbro was pretty ok for season 1 and 2 of metal fight beyblade. But in 4D they just hollowed everything out and removed the gimmicks.

@@zeroxenoverse9251 Zero G was acceptable. It was slightly worse than TT aesthetically because of the weird crystal face redesign and slightly worse performance wise due to the lack of stone faces.

@@alio6051 Actually I grew up with the metal gen when I was little. But I have very little of them despite watching the show, which is sad(I absolutely regret it). I would love to see them re release them so I can redo that gen. Heck, I've been watching a lot mfb vids recently about them.

I hated Hypersphere
The Speedstorm evolution was actually slept on, the most consistent (although inconsistent) evo. Since Switch Strike (right before pro series dropped). I didn’t mind that system at all and actually started one of my channels off, by spot lighting what was good about Speedstorm. Tbh It’s better than Quad Drive, Mirage Fafnir actually has 4 variations of rubber (re-colors). Those rubber layers are the most viable/competitive thing hasbro did in YEARS!
Pro series is epic but it has some wacky quality control issues. After processing and analyzing content for a litter over a year, I realized Hasbro should’ve been doing pro series the whole time. You spot on with a lot of stuff you pointed out 🔥

The original Beyblade and metal saga were actually so good, maybe not the best animes of all but the stories were interesting. Wish they didn't label it for more "younger" audiences though, there's been cursing in the manga before and I wish they'd have kept that vibe.

Well, I went to look up the old theme song to make a meme and ended up watching (and enjoying) a video essay about toy's I've never owned, story of my life.
Also: Hasbro loves to skimp out on metal/descent plastic for everything, not just Beyblade, so you have plenty of people to commiserate with.

If Hasbro's really more focused on replicating the beystadiums as seen in the anime, and they should really just focus on importing Takara Tomy's beys instead of attempting to manufacture their own. working a bit more closely jointed would be beneficial to them in the long run.
Hasbro is more about the stadium I love the design tho but there bey could use some work and they show no effort in there launcher it's commonly the normal type and the grip is very hard to grab onto takara Tomy is great as it doesn't focus on stadium but it try to meet our expectations by creating a bigger stadium so the battle will be more interested and takara Tomy beys are very accurate and very well made especially the shot driver and the electronic drivers I love there hard work!
But why can’t Hasbro do the same thing with Beyblade? Oh yeah, #BeCheap

Pro series is okay but quality control is nuts. I bought both a string launcher and stadium set but having issues out of the box.

I loved season 2 and 1 with hasbro but they followed the same steps they did for metal fight they take so long to make the combo accurate Beyblades with Beyblade (pro series)

Ironically the only good thing Hasbro did was the shows, that was made by someone else 😂. All they needed was the voice actors and even then every single time Dante says “RISE UP!” I row the bow closer and closer to hell.

Some fakes *do* use teeth though. I can't say for sure whether you owned real Takara or if you owned fakes, but lowkey fakes can perform better than Hasbro (especially in the case of Burst)

Hasbro does create some interesting exclusives, but the pure difference in performance makes it nearly impossible to compare it to the main TT beys.
I think it’s sad how Hasbro’s poor choices have showed in several of their toy lines over the past years, not just Beyblade. Nerf also quite literally got nerfed, the company started to cheap out and released many poor quality, poor performing blasters, but they’ve shown they can still make high quality stuff, just like in Beyblade.

Which Beyblades are better? The Original Plastic ones or the Modern Burst ones?
Really depends on your choice, as they have completely different playstyles and competitive scenes. Also, OG plastic ones are really hard to come by nowadays, so Burst might be a better choice.
