My dog Morgan would watch TV if there were animals so we rented Babe for him. He even went to his toy box to get his lamb when Babe was herding the lambs.
This was a clever idea, especially disabling the touchscreen to make it cat-friendly. Your furry family members are really cute, too!
Cats!!
I remember you. Where have you been?
I got a 10 year old iPad Mini 2, setup TH-cam videos on loop or playlist and used Guided Access to disable the touchscreen, now it’s a fish tank, a garden with birds, a red dot, a lava lamp, fireflies and more.
She loves it, I mounted it at cat level with 3D printed end caps and some strong Velcro. Total cost £50 max ($63)
moment of silence for those that have had configuration nightmares with pulse audio on Linux distros
Becky, you are so smart. You must have a wonderful career!
This is adorable, I want to watch your cats watch tv all day. Also at 03:14 - that marble PLA looks so cool. Great project. :)
Right?! It's this: amzlink.to/az0VCUhozkrD9
I love this, I've been playing cat tv on youtube for my cats for years.
I don't know about making this project but I really liked the design of the case. With a little modification to the front it should make a nice retro cabinet for a radio project I'm working on so I copied it in Tinkercad. Might even use it as is for an Internet radio project I've been toying around with.
nice, i think i have a similar screen. i wanted to make a BMO game console (from adventure time) with it and even customised the operating system and it works but i never got around to finish 3d modeling the case..
You should check out Allie's videos about building an rpi BMO! Maybe you can adapt their files: th-cam.com/video/6AtAhDMpVto/w-d-xo.html github.com/katzcreates/BMOctoprint
Great project! Functional and stylish. I checked out the tutorial and noticed that the links for the display and RPi are identical. 😊 ❤
Fantastic creation Becky!
Of course a cat TV needs a mouse😂
Add in a switch to disable the touchscreen so you can enable it if you need it.
I recently noticed how my cat Charlie (who is orange as well 😀) watches TH-cam videos along with me. I did try bird videos on the big screen as well, but that invoked hunter mode 😂. Very nice project, thanks for sharing, Becky!
Excellent!
That's pretty good!
Thank you!
That was fun!
Very cool Becky you are a fine engineer
Very nice. Thank you for sharing.
Our cat loved watching hockey. It's how my (now) wife got into the game: leaving it on for the cats.
cute!
Very awesome
Love your cat!
Instead of disabling the touchscreen, you could have just added a "paws-word" to get in! Hey oh!
I like that the display you're using includes a mounting system. So many of these embedded mcu/display options just have no good way to mount them.
OH No, did you now Cats Love to Play the Game Ants with the Touchscreens?
😂😂 My Cats are going crazy when i start the Game on my Tablet and let they Play. ❤.
😸
I'd love to see a remote control with a few buttons that would change the channel to one of the cat's choosing! Then you'd really know which channel the cat prefers.
- Well well well . That’s a surprise …
My dog acts like a cat, and he loves that channel. I just let him watch the old laptop
Wow, you are a Tinkercad virtuoso.
❤❤❤
I hope @NerdForge sees this for a way to make a fake CRT for her Fallout kitchen!
5:10 lol "I shall eat you"
Meowsome!
Any way to have it play a movie automatically upon powering up?

Cats watching funny human videos instead of humans watching funny cat videos? 🤣
I wish my cats would watch TV. It would be easier to distract them. I'm convinced mine can't actually see the screen for some reason. If I play videos of other cats meowing, they don't even look at the screen, they just sniff confusedly at the speaker. Same deal with birds or anything else. Tried one of those tablet apps that makes bugs run around the screen. They just have zero interest in screens.
that cord wouldn't last long with my cat
A project I could easily manage but..its a tv for a cat...so No!
Let the cat out of the house to hunt and explore.
You should rename the video so it reads "Turn your cat into a fat couch potato".
😅
To be fair, we inherited this cat and he was already a fat couch potato who likes TV. Just trying to see that he lives out his senior years happily!
Next up, a mini VR headset for cats. 🫶
Hi Becky, interested in making this but was wondering what the lowest spec Raspberry Pi would work as in memory requirement. Would a 1GB Pi 4 be ok?
I tested it with a 4gb rpi 4, so I'm not sure, but please report back with what you learn!
Ok Becky, thanks for replying, I shall give it a go and share what I learn 👍@@BeckyStern
I love what you've done for Bletchley, Becky, but I've got to tell you that I've reported you to The Humane Society of the United States for animal cruelty. Poor Bletchley now thinks s/he can find birds and squirrels behind his/her television and I think you've done that purposely, just to be spiteful to your beautiful cat. 😉 ♥
