Matt you don't always need to drag the plants to the field, you can press the plant you want to place and then click where you want it, this also applies to plant food.
Fun Tip: the arena mode (and the other one) are the only modes where the use of premium plants is "balanced" (probably obligatory because there's only a few adventure plants that are actually good in these modes) because in these modes, the zombies are way tougher(especially in the other mode) Also it's the mode where i got rhubarbarian for free (it was available a week ago and I was grinding until I eventually unlocked it)
Tip for you @mattshea: the electric blueberry is a lot better than you think, at level 1 it can 1 hit a gargantuar, and with its low cost of 150 sun it can be great for the harder levels, also i think a pvz 2 live stream would be cool
Be warned: The person saying this game can ramp in difficulty is correct. It ramps drastically towards the later worlds, and even worse towards a particular sandy world. Premiums make the game less difficult, but that won't help much on many difficult levels.
@@Rainbow_Sheep I've played through the entirety of eclise, both Alpha and Beta, as well as PvZ 2 a few times. If you don't physically pick good plants for the some PvZ 2 worlds you lose, premiums or not. Gold Bloom can't help you when 50 tightly grouped zombies are halfway down your lawn.

Tip: The best plants to use are the ones that “stall” zombies, they slow them down so you can accumulate sun. Tip 2: Insta-kill plants like potato mine or squash are extremely helpful for some of the later worlds when you have more beefcakes on your lawn. Best of luck, Matt!
I'm a big fan of the PVZ2 game, and recently re-download it. I'm sort of playing along with you, but ftp. Just finished world 3, but anyway, I can't wait to see your reaction to banana launchers attack, and the Far Future levels, as those are definitely the most fun. (Perhaps try to play the entirety of Far Future with Magnifying Grass as your only offensive plant? With gold bloom and imitator it would be hilarious)
Ayo Matt! The most recommended plants to use in Zen Garden are sun producers (Twin Sunflower and Sun-shroom are recommended) and lobbed attackers (Apple Mortar and Kernel-pult are a good start) since all Zen Garden boosts are First Strikes. Also Gold Bloom gives an exact 375 sun. Hope this helps when strategizing your lineup.
Fun fact: if you ever have a flower level ( level where zombies cant step on flowers) you can put a spikerock/spikeweed/ iceweed on the flowers and zombies can walk over the spikes and you wont lose. (Only works when the flowers are in the middle of a path) not sure if this works anymore, Popcap might of patched it. Also credits to Zomvoid for showing me this. He does tips that can help you with pvz2.
Matt, the Arena is actually pretty good for getting new plants. How it works is that you play against a random player, and earn points when zombies die. The farther they were from your home, the more points you get. The person with the most points wins! Also, Arena seems to crash a lot, so be careful.
Tip for mattshea and other people reading this:The boingsetta can let zombies fly in the air you can get a lover and if you time it perfectly the zombie can fly away from your lawn and never come back but sadly it doesn't work on gargantuars
Tip for @mattshea: Matt you can use escape root as an immortal plant by dragging it and hold it there until the escape root starts to turn into an explosive plant then you let it go and thus the escape root will be immortal
A tip: Matt since you have the tiger grass now i recommend to use the tiger grass + the iceberg Lettuce (wich is an great combination) and yeah, i hope it will help you.
TIP levelling up is op, get your plants to levels around 10, 15, 20 it will make your plants cheaper and stronger. An high level peashooter can easily kill some stronger zombies like Buckethead zombie and gargantuar zombies. Also in the arena you can get gems seed, packets and if you get 300 you will het a new plant butyou can always buy the plant if you don't get it in time. Double also there is going to be an Update, that all of the adventure mode plants are going to be possible to unlock with seed packets. If the Update news are fake, then sorry.

Hey Matt, have you ever played Bloons monkey city? It's like BTD5 but you build a village to unlock new towers and stuff, and you beat levels to expand your land. It's pretty fun, if a little slow, but I'm sure you can use your wallet to speed it up massively!

Matt, I would really like it if you *tried* to do every level with no premium plants, and if you needed, you can use the premium plants. I get you use them to entertain us, and I appreciate that, it just kind of ruins your first play through to use premiums and gemiums on your first playthrough.
Tip for picking plants: if you click on a plant in a level there should be a heart and when you click it, it goes to your “favourites” list which is at the very top so you can heart all the super plants at the bottom and move them to the top for easy choosing Hope this helped :)

Just know that some plants(especially the new ones) are EXTREAMLY OP. Example being tiger grass. If you want to have a tougher challenge, try not to use certain premium plants. Tho based on the level of your plants, u are not grinding them up the levels. High level plants makes the game ez. it's possible to beat the game without any premium plants or leveling up plants but it makes the game so much easier. A good way to level up plants is looking trough the shop for seed packets that only cost gold or the free daily seed packets. Anyways Matt, I've loved your Vids for so long and began watching u when u had around 10 battle cats vids. KEEP Up the great work!
Hi Mattshea, I want to tell you a trick so you can instantly charge the plant cool down. I highly recommend only do it for plants with high cool down. It simple just use a plant food on a seed but first you have to unlock it after completing level 20 in Wild West. I love you videos btw.

Matt you should get the mega gatling pea I grinded a week for it in arena and it's really strong. It may cost 400 sun to place, but with gold bloom you can easily counter the price point. Also, paired up with the torchwood it can even shred the strongest gargantuars like the rockstar one. It also has a chance to automatically plant food every shot, so if you get lucky it can basically wipe out an entire lane.

Tip: put spikeweeds and spikerocks on the right side of the lawn. That way, when you use plant food on them they pull all zombies in the lane away from your house
The worlds In my opinion get progressively harder and more fun. I'd say the point where it actually starts to get fairly difficult is dark agess. Also you should shovel up plants for sun if you ever need sun in a last stand level, or if a plant is about ot get eaten. Last fact electric blueberry one shots gargantuars.
tip: zombies spawn slower if you don't hurt them, this is good to know because if you put instakills in back and don't use constant damage plants like peashooters the zombies will spawn way slower giving you more time to prepare, but if they are harmed or killed more zombies will come, and the game speeds up

Hello Matt I'm a long time viewer of you and I love ur content if you want a real challenge/suffering on pv2 I suggest beating all of adventure mode without the use of premium plants except for the levels that give you them
in arena, you fight replays of other players and the higher you place in your league the more rewards you get arena mints can unlock the plant mints which have a special effect depending on the mint effect while buffing their family aka get spear mint or reinforce mint + peanut. arena is the only way to obtain some plants unless you buy them such as rhubarain. You are in a small league come in the top 3 to proceed to the next league bottom 3 get demoted a league. to win a match you must earn a higher score than your opponent's replay and you will get 5 crowns lose you only get 1. The last thing about arena it takes a while to unlock the main season reward/the special plant.
Matt, I don’t know if this works but if you get the Gold bloom and imitator gold bloom and delete the imitator Goldbloom. You can get another Goldbloom and try doing that a lot.
And here the thing you acctyly try when you unlock infi nut try plant food the infi nut and it's going to put a shield but that's not all when you put bonk choy behind the shield it's like place one wall nut and plant food like it makes more wall nuts
If you want more challenge then, Continue the adventure without using power-ups, Premium Plants, Gem Plants and Seed Packet plants/ones not from adventure; Besides Torchwood. All the later Plants make adventure a breeze, since they're for Penny's Persuit which is another Challenging mode. It's for a more authentic feel that's somewhat close to the "original" pvz2. Also, Try the Second Brutal version of Pvz 1.
The reason people say that PvZ 2 gets really difficult is because the levels lose originality and gain stupid difficulty just by raising the health of zombies. At some point, they just decided that adding more zombies and making them stronger was more fun to complete than any of the previous levels. Those levels are the reasons those OP plants are there, to make people pay to progress. Sadly, I don’t think popcap or ea deserve to make any more money off this game.
Tip: Grind on arena mode to get seeds for mega Gatling Pea He is like Gatling pea from Pvz 1but he shoots faster and when you put plant food on him he will shoot 5 peas Instead of 4
Hey Mattshea if you're really annoyed or lazy on scrolling down to get the premium plants simply click on the heart (no heart yet) on the top left of the plant you selected or picked then it should have a heart and makes the plants above and you dont have to scroll down again
if you win you get closer to 1000 when you you get to a 1000 you get a lot of seed packet for the plant and there are more ways to get the seed packets
Matt you have to know if you are playing a level that you can't let the zombies trample the flowers if the flowers are in the middle of a tile put Spikeweed or Spikerock on the tile with the flowers on it the zombies will walk over it and you don't lose
You can clear pretty much any of the story levels by just spamming flame pea shooters once you have them together with primal wall nut. Gold bloom and twin sun flowers also hold obvious places in the roster. (Flame peashooter is easy to get with just gems and primal wall nut is so early in Jurassic marsh that the levels you need to clear to unlock it are still way too easy. Also, “I don’t think it’s gonna be that bad” Big wave beach: “allow me to introduce myself.”
Hi Matt a recommended pvz garden warfare very fun but a warning it isn’t like Normal pvz but had a lot of fun playing it so I’m sure you’ll like it. (the second one is my favorite btw)
Tip get all the primall plants in jurassic marsh they are OP the first one primall peashooter has a chance to knock back zombies! The costs is 175 sun The 2nd primall sun flower is 75 sun and gives 75 sun! But with alot of primall sun flower they five ya sooooo much sun! And with the gold bloom you will have a lot of sun! 3rd plant primall wall nut costs 75 sun and is the ''same'' as the wall nut but it will take 3 hits! From gargantuar 4th plant primall perfume but thats just for jurassic marsh world plant 5 its the most OP out of all! The primall potato mine! Costs 50 sun but explodes in a 3 by 3 area like a cherry bomb but needs to be stepped on
Tip: when the level thimn has stripes it is a objective level and if it has stripes and it didn't say what you need to do its cuz its a conveyor belt level
Here is a tip: the dude is right pvz2 ramps up difficulty so you should abuse the events so you can upgrade your plants some plants even have a secret secondary attribute to them in certain levels mostly some unlocked after the plants are lvl 6 or 11

The worlds In my opinion get progressively harder and more fun. I'd say the point where it actually starts to get fairly difficult is dark agess. Also you should shovel up plants for sun if you ever need sun in a last stand level, or if a plant is about ot get eaten.

For me it really started to get difficult in lost city, especially day 30

tip: zombies spawn slower if you don't hurt them, this is good to know because if you put instakills in back and don't use constant damage plants like peashooters the zombies will spawn way slower giving you more time to prepare, but if they are harmed or killed more zombies will come, and the game speeds up

Hello Matt I'm a long time viewer of you and I love ur content if you want a real challenge/suffering on pv2 I suggest beating all of adventure mode without the use of premium plants except for the levels that give you them

in arena, you fight replays of other players and the higher you place in your league the more rewards you get arena mints can unlock the plant mints which have a special effect depending on the mint effect while buffing their family aka get spear mint or reinforce mint + peanut.
arena is the only way to obtain some plants unless you buy them such as rhubarain.
You are in a small league come in the top 3 to proceed to the next league bottom 3 get demoted a league.
to win a match you must earn a higher score than your opponent's replay and you will get 5 crowns lose you only get 1.
The last thing about arena it takes a while to unlock the main season reward/the special plant.
Matt, I don’t know if this works but if you get the Gold bloom and imitator gold bloom and delete the imitator Goldbloom. You can get another Goldbloom and try doing that a lot.
And here the thing you acctyly try when you unlock infi nut try plant food the infi nut and it's going to put a shield but that's not all when you put bonk choy behind the shield it's like place one wall nut and plant food like it makes more wall nuts

If you want more challenge then, Continue the adventure without using power-ups, Premium Plants, Gem Plants and Seed Packet plants/ones not from adventure; Besides Torchwood. All the later Plants make adventure a breeze, since they're for Penny's Persuit which is another Challenging mode. It's for a more authentic feel that's somewhat close to the "original" pvz2. Also, Try the Second Brutal version of Pvz 1.
I would recommend getting the mints because they boost the category of the plant that you have You unlock them by getting mints from arena
The reason people say that PvZ 2 gets really difficult is because the levels lose originality and gain stupid difficulty just by raising the health of zombies. At some point, they just decided that adding more zombies and making them stronger was more fun to complete than any of the previous levels. Those levels are the reasons those OP plants are there, to make people pay to progress. Sadly, I don’t think popcap or ea deserve to make any more money off this game.
And no, the zen garden doesn’t make up for this, just makes levels either impossible or completely redundant
I beat the game without paying for any plant, but you’re right the zombies get really overpowered later which puts plants at a disadvantage

If you are putting area of effect plants (like snapdragon) put them in the 2nd and 4th row so it covers all of the rows

Tip: Grind on arena mode to get seeds for mega Gatling Pea He is like Gatling pea from Pvz 1but he shoots faster and when you put plant food on him he will shoot 5 peas Instead of 4
Hey Mattshea if you're really annoyed or lazy on scrolling down to get the premium plants simply click on the heart (no heart yet) on the top left of the plant you selected or picked then it should have a heart and makes the plants above and you dont have to scroll down again
There's actually a harder version of pvz plus which is called pvz brutal mode I really think you should try it

if you win you get closer to 1000 when you you get to a 1000 you get a lot of seed packet for the plant and there are more ways to get the seed packets

Matt you have to know if you are playing a level that you can't let the zombies trample the flowers if the flowers are in the middle of a tile put Spikeweed or Spikerock on the tile with the flowers on it the zombies will walk over it and you don't lose

You can clear pretty much any of the story levels by just spamming flame pea shooters once you have them together with primal wall nut. Gold bloom and twin sun flowers also hold obvious places in the roster. (Flame peashooter is easy to get with just gems and primal wall nut is so early in Jurassic marsh that the levels you need to clear to unlock it are still way too easy.

Hi Matt a recommended pvz garden warfare very fun but a warning it isn’t like Normal pvz but had a lot of fun playing it so I’m sure you’ll like it. (the second one is my favorite btw)

Tip get all the primall plants in jurassic marsh they are OP the first one primall peashooter has a chance to knock back zombies! The costs is 175 sun The 2nd primall sun flower is 75 sun and gives 75 sun! But with alot of primall sun flower they five ya sooooo much sun! And with the gold bloom you will have a lot of sun! 3rd plant primall wall nut costs 75 sun and is the ''same'' as the wall nut but it will take 3 hits! From gargantuar 4th plant primall perfume but thats just for jurassic marsh world plant 5 its the most OP out of all! The primall potato mine! Costs 50 sun but explodes in a 3 by 3 area like a cherry bomb but needs to be stepped on
Tip: when the level thimn has stripes it is a objective level and if it has stripes and it didn't say what you need to do its cuz its a conveyor belt level
Here is a tip: the dude is right pvz2 ramps up difficulty so you should abuse the events so you can upgrade your plants some plants even have a secret secondary attribute to them in certain levels mostly some unlocked after the plants are lvl 6 or 11
