I wish I had James as my English teacher. All becomes simplier and mor clear with him. Thank you, James! Students all over the world appreciate your help with learning English.
Man, for sure you won't see my comment. But you are the best teacher I've ever met surfing on the internet. You make it easy and funny. And that's perfect because it is completely comfortable to repeat the lessons, so finally, we can learn through repetition also. Man, congratulations!!!
Congratulations!! I couldn't learn English by myself! But, each video or conversation that I watch it, I learn at least one or two words. So, English is not so easy that I thought!
I teach English and James is a very handy tool for my students! Congrats for being a great and funny teacher, most contents on internet are not even close to yours. Thanks!
“Olá Thiago!” Hey James! Hope you are great. I’m so grateful to having you here on TH-cam, thanks a lot. Here you go some suggestions of the most endurance subjects for Brazilians 🇧🇷 immerse in an English real world as: Gerunds, have got to (gotta), subject verb agreement, don’t using ‘like’ as a conjunction, few X a little, linking words/ conjunctions and the specific use of present perfect X past simple. Personally I’ve struggled with this matters. Cheers!
You're amazing, i love your classes. By the way, i see you from Colombia, i'm a school student and i'm learning english by myself, you are beeing a great help. Thank you, God bless you.
James, it would be really interesting if you could make a video that he helps us be able to tell if a phrasal verbs has an adverb or preposition. Many times the words accompanying the verb can be used as both parts of speech.
Due to some discrepancies, my English exam has # dragged on 15 mins. I am introvert but only #open up with you. This looks patchy go and dress up yourself. You are amazing english teacher.
Thank you teacher James i really appreciate your time i needed watch twice the vídeo and write down so i learned a lot now i see whay some times i don't understand the English language
i watch all your vids and you are amazing, with you even a dog would speak in English. If everyone could have their ones James, life would've been much easier. hello to you James, from poor russia
Hey James !! Thanks for this video. I am French and I really have a hard time with the phrasal verbs. Your videos never drag on. If you gave me a rendezvous, I would not call it off ! Have a nice day !
Françoise Luzy Phrasal verbs aren’t particularly problematic for French speakers. (Learn English with football topics on my channel. A new topic every week.)
Hey! I'm a german student who's interested in english :D I have a question my teacher can't answer me properly, he just tells my i have to do it by my feeling for the language. I can't believe that there's no grammer rule for this, so my question to you as a native speaker is: When do I have to use not to and when to not? In sentences like: "Try not to laugh", when would I say "Try to not laugh"?
Hi Michael, In my opinion, "Try not to laugh" is grammatically correct. The verb is "To laugh", there is no verb "To not laugh". We say "To not laugh" socially, as a clear and specific challenge to keep a straight (non-laughing) face. Hope that helps! Tony
It's because the verb laugh is infinitive in this sentence, when I say I laugh or she laughs the verb doens't take 'to' because it's conjugated as there is someone performing the action.
CONVERSATION Eric- mina, I need your help. Mina- what happened? Eric- actually, I really need to be somewhere by tomorrow, I need to call off tomorrow's presentation. Mina- so, are you asking me to take on your part ? Eric- yes Mina- who is your co-presenter? Eric- Susan is my co-presenter. Mina- we are getting on quite well. Eric- I think, Susan can help you, to look up the important points, thanks. (Feel free to correct me 😊)
Great teacher. As I correctly remember phrasal verbs are more informal than formal. So we should uuse these phrasal verbs before meeting (agenda) or after the meeting, but not during an official meeting. During the official corporate meeting we should use more formal words and we shouldn't use phrasal verbs.
Hi there. I've got a question. Could you give me some advise. 14:40. If I'm not wrong, the phrasal verbs: GET ON and GET ALONG (in this context) - are the same, aren't they? It means, I could say : "I heard (that) you two don't get along" - it's the same meaning, isn't it? Thanks.
