I'm new to the beard straightening brush game, and just ordered the Aberlite Pocket, and was curious when you apply your daily oil and balm? Before the straightening? Do you apply after? Do you use the straightener on damp hair? I mostly use Beardbrand products, and have the oil, utility balm, and styling balm. Thanks!
I add oil first, then heat, then my styling product. So for Beardbrand (excellent products by the way), I would go Beard Oil, Heated brush, Utility Balm or Styling Balm depending if you are going for more softness (UB) that day or more hold (SB) I add my beard oil when my beard is about 90% dry. I like using a beard straighten brush but I find that the longer my beard the less I enjoy the results of a heated brush. Maybe the brush works better for shorter beards. What are your thoughts on it?
I’ve tried heated beard brushes when my beard was longer and shorter. I notice a more dramatic change with the shorter beard, but that could just be me.

Hi! Hope all is well on your end. I have been fighting with my coarse beard for a while and I've reached a point to where I was thinking about chopping it off. Until my wife suggested I tried a blow dryer on it and I must say I was pretty impressed with the result. But the only downside to that is I do not have the time to use the dryer every morning. But having something that is convenient and cordless would be a must have. I do like the after effect. The that my beard looks fuller and straighter is definitely something I can dig.
