    Totally agree Dan! I've been saying this for months -- heat brush for removing problem areas and taming fly aways and blow dryer for adding volume and character. This is why I use both in my normal styling routine, I find they work together incredibly well. I'm glad Jackson prefers it too 😂
    Cheers Dan

      Thanks brotha! The character aspect is really important to me. You do not want your beard hairs too straight and I felt too much of the brush creates that.

    Great video again, with the Trusted Teacher. I have been using a heated brush. No complaints so far. I use the oil and I also use a balm before I brush. I feel that with the balm in too there is extra protection. I heat my brush to 360. Takes about 2-3 minutes to brush my beard. It has removed all the lumps, bumps, and waves, for a nice straight beard. I do use it everyday instead of able dryer. It hasn’t fried my hair at all. Great tool!

    So I got to use my new brush this morning it absolutely is everything I thought it was going to be it grabbed my unruly beard and tamed it. Especially my curly flyaways. Those are enough right there to make me want to cut my beard when I was first growing it but now it seems I found something for that. I'm glad I found this channel man! And who would have thought a video 2 years old would be so freshly relevant today

  • @neifert7126
    @neifert7126 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I agree with this 100%! It can’t replace a round brush/Kent comb/blow dryer BUT it can do a decent job in about 4 min.
    I have a CNXUS straightener off Amazon, it was like $39. 300 degrees works best for my beard, I got sucked into the heat shield but I’ve done it with just oil and got the same results. The heat shield smells terrible IMO.
    I don’t think this should replace your normal routine or something every beard must own but definitely a luxury item that can help in a pinch.
    One last thing if you’re brushing down never apply pressure past the check line or you will get the dreaded dent. Your method of brushing it towards the ear works perfect!
    As always Dan, another great review for a highly requested video!!

    I've been using the heated brush for about 4 months now, and I think it's a great tool that gets the job done fast. I could never get use to a blow dryer so I needed to find another option. Personally I like to use heat shield just to be on the safe side. My process is...dry to 98%, soak with argan spray, set to 350, comb up once then down once, finish with a fantastic beard oil and conditioning balm...I really hate using the brush but it does wonders for me and I only need it once to twice a week. To be honest, with all the new and wonderful conditioners out there I feel way more comfortable using something like this.

    Great video! I received a heated brush for Christmas last year and have had a very similar experience. I use it a couple times a week and usually only on my problem area around my chin. If my 1.5 year old is sleeping I will style the rest of the beard with it instead of a hairdryer for noise reasons. The hairdryer still works better when styling my beard but the heated brush is better for problem areas.

    yeah, i am using both because the brush is so easy... i still have just not figured out the whole blow dryer thing yet. it is sort funny how you talk about the sides not laying down as good with your brush. i have the opposite, my sides seem to lay better with the brush than the blow dryer... but again, probably a difference in technique, beard type, something... or maybe, like i said, i have just not gotten the hang of it. either way, great video here and has helped me to understand the brush a bit better. thanks Dan

    I bought the heated brush Scuba used on one of his videos. It does a really good job of making the hairs really, really straight. The problem I have with it is that my beard is not even on each side based on the way it curls/styles, so when everything gets super straight, it looks uneven. I've started manly using it when I have a specific spot that needs fixed, but not for the whole beard!

    Kuschelbar all the way for me. Steep price (Got mine for $20 off... $80 + shipping and no tax), but my side burns aren't dense, but my Goatee, neck, and jaw are dense. The Kuschelbar handles the outside of my beard great and those tougher and sparse hairs where my sideburns grow in thinner. I can see where the longer tines are handy to get more to the under beard, but that hasn't been an issue for me... staying close to the jaw and dropping into the hanging beard is my issue and the short tines on the Kuschelbar does this flawlessly on my beard.
    Thanks again for another great video.

    I have the EXACT same heated brush. I don't think you are giving it a fair comparison to a blow dryer. First, you need to slow WAY down when using it. It should take a full 5 sec for a single pass. The other thing to do with the heat brush to get hair drier quality in half the time and hassle is using it combing your beard up, then finish with combing it down.

    Thanks for the review. I have a heated brush but not that brand. I wife purchased one from a beauty store near us. I really enjoy it for the purpose of what you mentioned. Quick and easy and helps on those days my beard is looking rugged. I do not use oils before hand tho. I use the argan heat spray because that's what it's for. I dont think it is a gimmick they are trying to sell for beards because it intended for mostly women's hair. I tried beard oil before once and I didn't like the smell that came from it.

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You made my point exactly for the beard gimmick. Women use it as a heat shield, because they do not normally use oil in their hair. We use beard oil, which does the same exact thing. The smell would come in with certian fragrance oils, and if they react to make an unpleasant smell with medium heat, probably isn't the best fragrance go use. Maybe the temp was too high? If not, ditch that oil.

I shower at night and blow dry my beard after. The next morning I use the heat brush. I spray some argon oil (2 sprays, 1 on each side) into my beard and rub it in. When I brush out my beard, I set mine brush to 340 and that does the job. Then I apply my oil and balm. My beard doesn't dry out at all. Great Review! I use the Jergen K beard brush. It is great. Question is how often should one use this and will it damage the hair with frequent use? I have very long, coarse and super super curly beard sometimes it hurts to comb it 😑, but with this brush it was amazing and so soft after one use. Forget the hair dryer this is the best way imo. I recommend to use a beard oil before.

    I had the same kinda thoughts of using it and it possibly damaging my hair but overall I like it. I do avoid trying to use it often so I’ll use it maybe once a week when my beard is REALLY wavy along the jawline. I like that it’s quick and gets rid of the problem areas that I need efficiently. So I use it maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks (depending how my beard is or what I have planned for the day). Awesome video cause legit your thoughts are right on point on how exactly I feel about the heat brush. Still worth trying out for anybody with long beards and want to try something different to get rid of problems areas or are in hurry and wanna style the beard.

    This video got a ton of comments Dan! So I am aligned with you except I feel both do a great job but the heated brush gets the style I like easier. I have a thick beard that’s naturally wavy and always wants to jump up and curl so heated brush works a little better for me. Agree with oil before heat every time. Great video!

    Thanks Dan, I have had one for a couple of months but dont tend to use it that often. That said it is a good tool to get the kinks out. I used Argon Oil in my beard just before I use the heated brush as it protects the hair as the last thing I want to do is frazzle my beard. I would advise anyone thats getting one to get a wide headed one such as the one you have or he one Scuba has been raving about on Beard Tube. I looked at the Beard Struggle one and wasnt that impressed, I was even less impressed when I watched the youtube video by Scuba that showed that they had got a load of brushes from Ali Baba, rebranded them then increased the price.
    Do you know what sort of temperature is safest to go for with one on these brushes please?
