Although we have never been into computer gaming, seeing this, the sheer level of visual appearance has become so pleasingly accurate to real life that you can imagine yourself being there in person and fiddle about as you please. Wow, just wow!
My son has the Deluxe version and he is in love with it. We have loved the last few releases, but he really loves the Scotsman. I am a Diesel man myself though!
You really should check out the other steam levels Sam. I picked train sim world 3 up on sale with the steam levels and was blown away by the detail in the scenarios of the Liverpool Lime Street route
This looks great. I rode from Feldkirch to Bludenz back in early july, as the nearest station to Gargellen (where we were staying) is Schruns, which is on a branch that splits off at Bludenz. Great to see the Bombardier Talent so well reconstructed, even down to the seat moquette.
Can confirm that Union Station in Los Angeles really looks as it appears in the game. The subway connects to the other tracks as well as the waiting rooms, ticket area, and restaurant. The station was built in 1939 and the art deco tile in the subway dates to then.
Multiplayer is the last thing I want in any train sim, steam locomotives for other country's than just England is more important. Also Multiplayer will only cause even more lag spikes. Certainly don't want to have more of those.
this is just train sim world 3 with a new number, Dovetail still has not fixed its incomplete and bug plagued DLCs from the previous games, but decide to release this, not even a year since TSW3's release. Do not buy this game.
Not sure if this counts as I’m a grandad not a modeller. However my grandson Archie intro duced me to your TH-cam and he is a Flying Scotsman addict! Therefore he would be amazed to travel on 60103 with you driving.
Welcome to the world of TSW 4, Sam! I bought mine on pre-order and I love this game. In the future, you will be getting tools to build your own routes and make custom trains as well mate. This one has to be the best evolution since MSTS in 2001 when that came out! But this is soo much better.
I noticed that when you were in the 8f & Scotsman the reverser was not in the right position. You probably already know this but to move it needs to be in full 75% cut-off. Use the W to move it forward and S to bring to back😅
Hi Sam! Wow, early comment right here. Anyway, in my opinion, Train Sim World 4 isn't really worth it, as it is really just a clone of TSW3 but with route editing and some new locos. But that's just me. IMO, my favourite train sim will always be the original Dovetail one, Train Simulator Classic! 😄
That's fair enough - I haven't tried the previous titles so can't comment - I do know that these routes I showed are brand new though! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Indeed, for someone that's not interested in the new routes (i.e, myself), TSW4 is basically a £40 forced update from TSW3. Despite having no interest in any of the new 'features' that TSW4 brings, I'll be forced to buy it if I wish to continue buying new routes (like the new route from JustTrains that will be releasing for TSW4 only, in about a month). Compared to TSW3, TSW4 doesn't really bring anything new to the table, it's just a way for Dovetail to make their player base buy a new game for the sake of it. TSW is a good game, but I can't say I support Dovetail's business practises here.
The livery design feature is almost identical to the "Paint shop" feature of the Trainz simulator which was one of the first ever train sims. In that you could also change the livery of rolling stock too, great fun !
Train driving sims are not everyone's cup of tea, so I'm very pleased to see you actually featuring one. I wonder, are you also familiar with Transport Fever 2 on the PC? Not only can you cab ride (although without any interaction) but you get to basically build a virtual model railway and operate it. Both passenger and freight are catered for, you can be the manager of your very own network.
Hi Sam, I bought TSW2020 for Xbox a couple of years ago & bought the West Somerset Railway Addon at the same time. I had a play about with it and soon discovered that you had to Complete various Training Modules etc before you could actually get to 'Drive' at your leisure!.. So back the disc went in it's box. Just didn't have the time to learn all that stuff... but now I have seen how easy you make this look, I am going to give it another go!.. Cheers Sam!
I'm surprised they sponsored your first look into this game, considering you don't play much train simulator on the channel. Putting "Hello There" on the front of a locomotive is 10/10 livery design right there!
Not sure if I’ll get this game at full price - besides from the fact it has different routes it’s near indistinguishable from tsw3 which I already own. Hoping it goes on sale 🤞
what really annoys me is the fact you have to purchase the deluxe dition to get the Scotsman. The one reason to buy TSW 4 if you have TSW3 Typical DTG this. Rip off merchants, pure n simple
Humble Bundle has a TSW bundle for $15, with TSW 4 + a lot of TS4 compatible DLCS/routes (some TSW 2 and 3 routes that work with 4) looks like a decent deal.
I haven't played any Train Sim World , I just watched content about this games. I'm still playing the good ol' Trainz because I've build my map there and recently I've discovered Derail Valley. In my opinion Derail is well over Trainz and the Train Sim's without the 4th one. You have career mode , you need to buy licences to do certain jobs or to be able to drive new locos , you can walk around , you derail and might destroy environment if you carry dangerous goodss , you can walk , locos can get so damaged that they won't be able to run etc. Also I like that when coupling to a consist you need to get down and conect the hook and the air pipes , release consist's handbrake, and that you don't need to build or play a certain scenario , you just go to the station office and pick whatever job you want.
Bought the game early, played tsw3 for a while, now onto 4, graphics were definitly upgraded between them. From personal experience, modern loco's are easier to play with controllers, and steam loco's with mouse and keyboard.

Hornby released a game on PC with all their products, track, building etc. The track wouldn't line up, it was terrible. It looked like Hornby but didn't really work. I got it for free so can't really complain but what a shame. I can't afford the hobby anymore so have given up. I do love playing games and have since the 70's. I am currently playing Far Cry 6 for the 3rd time. I like to get my monies worth.
Now onto your video. WOW first person train sim. Brilliant. Will there be Zombie attacks or hordes of the infected from Resident Evil ? Perhaps not, I recon it will be simply driving trains here and there. Lets find out 😆
Sam do you think making models of British export locos can be a viable idea for manufacturers? Most of them are so fascinating yet they don't get much attention in model form.
How do you know they are not popular when nothing like that has been done? Before Hornby's Stephenson's Rocket no one thought Era 1 stuff will be popular, and if KR Models doesn't exist no one will be interested in getting odd experimental locos. Making something unique can generate interest about the prototype.
Sadly, train sim is not for me. I prefer to build my model railway as there's great fun in building a layout of a specific location and a given point in time! It is great to adapt a kit or scratch build various buildings. Thanks to Resin 3D printing this has made it easier to manufacture parts and more cost effective giving modellers the confidence to build a unique station, wagons, coaches etc.
Well there's nothing wrong with having some diversity... if you prefer British trains, you can just buy British routes/vehicles! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
There's two variants of the HST in the game; GWR and East Midlands Trains. They come with the 'Great Western Express' and 'Midland Mainline' packs respectively.
Just to make customers buy extra, that's why, as they know the HST will be popular. For this train simulator you need to buy more trains &/or carriages, &/or routes. The costs of this must add up.
Hi, I purchased train sim world4 after watching sam's video. as it looked great, unfortunately each time I try to play the game on my laptop it crashes. Thanks for watching, Sam :)
After buying TSW2 and TWS1 its too expensive to buy every Train sim world so I'm not buying any more
That's fair enough - it's certainly a lot of money to find!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
You've been trained on a train, using a train...
Lets find out 😆
It’s no from me Sam unfortunately I’m not into computer games. My nephews are addicted to them shame they don’t do Xbox rehab.
That's fair enough, I understand plenty feel that way!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Sam: there's a European one thats an austrian one
Me: ummm, you do know your hovering over a purly germent route, right?
Sam do you think making models of British export locos can be a viable idea for manufacturers? Most of them are so fascinating yet they don't get much attention in model form.
I totally think so - I hope we'll see some of that soon! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
DO THIS AGAIN, PLS!
Sam love your videos
Thank you so much! :D
TSW4 should have all things British on it. Shame on the creators for not including the much-needed HST. Just play the game, will ya?
Well there's nothing wrong with having some diversity... if you prefer British trains, you can just buy British routes/vehicles!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
HST is in the game my friend?? It was in the second ever DLC for TSW. In fact it features in another DLC now...
Hi Sam, I bet you had a fun time, fantastic, All the best Brian 😃
Yes please Sam
I would like to see ECML Please
It's only called TSW4 so they can paywall bugfixes :(
Should have waited a year for TSW5
Lol then wait for TSW6
Hi, I purchased train sim world4 after watching sam's video. as it looked great, unfortunately each time I try to play the game on my laptop it crashes. I tried steam store support but I did not find it any help other than I can request a refund.
I would sooner have a refund as a last resort.
if anyone can help Please?
as the game dose look great and I would love to play it but I just do not know what I can do as I am not great with all this modern technology.
