    Thank you very much for posting this video and teaching me how simple it is to replace the switch and take the pedal apart. Great job on your own pedal creations. A true artist. Have a great day and take care :)

    Thank you for showing. That was an ez painles task. I thought it was going to be surgery. Sad part is it only took me 15 years to fix it. Had switch problems from the start it would work great then go out. So at that point I just put it back in the box.but now it's back on the board

    I'd be interested in your comments on why the Boss stomp box switch is not used on the majority of fx pedals made by other manufacturers. The Boss switch is completely silent unlike the horrible loud click on so many other manufacturer's pedals. This is not an important feature in a live setting but is an extremely useful feature in a small home recording studio where that loud click will be heard by a condensor microphone. Secondly, in the event that a Boss switch needs to be replaced, where can they be purchased from? Thirdly, what are the specs of the Boss switch in regards to it's polarity, i.e is it a triple- pole double throw or what?

    Hi. The pedals look cool painted. What kind of paint do you use? Also what type of clear coat do you spray on after? I want to paint one of my pedals, but I’m unsure what type of paint to use, and if I should use a lacquer on it after to seal the paint. Thanks.

    Wow thank you so much my used SD-1came with the battery adapter in the back of the pedal. And this video was the only thing I could find is a reference to take out that foot switch part to thread the adapter through to the top. 👍

    HI I have a ME 50, Im having problems when I step on the pedal switches to turn on and off the different effects, I have to try few times in order fot the switch to work, I wonder if I can unscrew the pedals and access the switch underneath to ether clean it with some kind of contact cleaner or replace every switch. my question is how do I gain access to the switch underneath the pedals to do that, there are and little screw on the each side of each pedals but Im not sure if by unscrewing those will get me access to the switch underneath, or do I need to open the whole pedal board or take it apart , any help would be really appreciated!

      i did a google seach according to this yt video it looks like the switches are soldered to the circuit board. in this case it would need to be desoldered and then replaced. hope this helps see link.

    Hi, my Boss Distortion pedal does a VERY LITTLE silence when i activate it, it's very annoying when i try to play songs that need this transition instantly.
    It makes that 0.3 second silence, and then it activates the effect. What is it? Do i have to change the switch?

    • @Stern-warning
      @Stern-warning 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The switch on a Boss pedal doesn’t lock or “ latch” as it is momentary switch that toggles a relay inside the pedal. If you have a volt meter to check continuity it will only make connection when fully depressed and then break connection when released. If it does that but doesn’t work then check for any obstruction that may be keeping the foot pedal from fully being depressed like the battery standing up the wrong way or a bunched or torn rubber grommet, bent screw etc. If it doesn’t make a connection then the switch could be broken inside or full of dust or usually cat hair and you can disassemble the switch to clean it but it is delicate operation. Other things to check is obviously the battery or power cable and any broken or loose wires and the input jack isn’t corroded or bent because when you insert the input cable it turns the pedal “on” in that it gives the pedal power for the switch to work. If it is on a different brand of pedal and the switch is supposed to click when you press then that is a latching type switch and then it is probably broken.

    Maybe some pedals become weak due to lack of spring (falling out)?
    May be some pedals only need that, not the switch changed.
