Excellent
Strabane was a market town where the library is now was where the cattle markets used to be.
The Border goes down the middle of the River Finn & River Foyle, so if you look at the Tarmack in the middle of the bridge you will see the joint where the DOE in Northern Ireland & Donegal Council tar up to. There are several Islands in the River Foyle, and it was said that when they had to find out if the Islands would be in the North or South, they used a Barrel, and depending on what side the River current took the Barrel, that would be the border. Even before Ireland was split, the River Finn & River Foyle was still the County Border of County Tyrone, County Coleraine ( County Londonderry) & County Donegal. The Border leaves the Foyle near Londonderry when County Coleraine was renamed to County Londonderry, they also took a piece of County Donegal at that time.
