Great Vid and I'm glad the Fuji's are working for you. I muddled along with them for over a decade, but the APSC sensor, lack of decent AFC, and muddy looking images over 1600 ISO (when trying to pull up shadows), finally did me in. Two years ago, I swapped over to a FF system and it's been like day and night. Even my paying customers all noticed the difference and commented on my incredible images. I only say this, not to detract, but just prove it's great there are so many options of cameras out there, and we all finally fall into our groove and find what suits us. All the best for the future Kevin.
Load of crap, i shoot high end sports photography and events with full frame and aps-c and the feedback is great on both. Hell - most of the time I don’t even know which is from which
Hi Kevin, nice Video, again! I‘d use die „good and bad pockets“ of your bag for used and fresh batteries. As a Fuji x-pro user, I know that I need quite a lot of the old Fuji-batteries for an extensive shooting😉… So, that is my guess. Cheers
I have just picked up one of those Lumimuse Lamps. Looking forward to trying it out on the dancefloor! Never felt happy filling the room with flash blasts!
Couldn't agree more. Used Domke F2-B bags professionally for 20 years! The ballistic cloth is even tougher than the original cotton. And they're still going strong into retirement. They easily hold two pro Nikon DSLRs, two SB-800 flashes, 17-35mm, 70-200mm and 50mm f/1.4. And that's all interior space, not counting the four outer pockets!
Excellent walk through - good and bad are fully charged *good* batteries in one pocket and discharged/flat *bad* batteries in the other. You could also use it for memory cards but I wouldn't! I have an F1-X and the "wedge" strap add-on is a game changer.
It is a pleasure to agree on practically 90% of what you carry in your bag, even in the same bag that I have had for more than ten years, it is indestructible. In the inscriptions that you carry in your pockets, I think it is to distinguish the loaded materials from the unloaded ones, which is something similar to what I do in my bag. With respect to the fujifilm Otherwise it would be my standard. Hehehehe I hope to win the prize for your presets, I'm in love with them hehehehehe thanks in advance.
You really got my attention when you mentioned the x-pro just feels right for your documentary approach. I feel the same about my X100V. Even though I have an X-T5 and I know technically it is better, I still find myself using the X100V more of the wedding day due to everything you said. It just shows that it is not all about the newest tech.
@@kevin_mullins Bet the X100VI is heavily used during bride/groom prep. Just scored one. The autofocus is a little slow for my street work. My workaround is to use manual focus. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
I have the same bag and no dividers either. I have had it for ages and ages. It is one of three bags as the other two are for when out in the wilderness, but my Domke is what I go to events with or walk around town with.
Good and bad absolutely has to be for batteries . Good batteries are fully charged bad batteries go right in the charger when you get home. I use a similar system for street shooting. Extra batteries in my left pocket and discharged batteries in my RIGHT pocket because when I get home the batteries in the RIGHT pocket go RIGHT in the charger.
Good/Bad batteries? I have a smaller Domke shoulder bag that I've used for many years. It's built like a tank, for sure. I've not tried it with the dividers removed. I'm not confident I wouldn't break something.
Thanks for taking us along! :) I'm curious when you decide to use the X100VI and if you ditch your main cameras when doing so. Do you follow a hunch? Or do you use it when you want to take a break from the big cameras? Thanks again! Oh and great battery system! :)
I use the Domke F2 for my events work for about 5 years, although I do use the divider insert. I reckon the good and bad relates to good batteries and discharged ones.
Have you tried the X-T50 ? More compact than the X-PRO3, though inferior in build quality but superior build quality than X-T5 or X-T30. It's truly a gem that I recommend you to try, despite some negative reviews that are misguided imo.
I didn't need the X-T50 so haven't bought that one. I use the XS20 for filming these TH-cams and its by far my favourite prosumer Fujifilm camera to date.
Although I don't use them as often anymore, I really love my old Domke bags. Love the simplicity of the hook closure rather than velcro or zippers. I would bring out the ballistic nylon versions for the times the canvas looked a bit too beat-up for the situation.
Thank you Kevin for your Domke bag recommendation. I own several bags and one is a Domke. Not my favorite. To each their own. My go to bag is the Think Tank Retrospective 10. I still use my dividers. I have a collection of bags. GAS. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
A fellow Domke user 👍I have been a Domke user, seemingly forever, as a matter of fact, I still have my original F3X bought in 1983, starting off my career as a news photog. Yep, they are still around, though Jim Domke sold the company to Tiffin in 1990. They are available from Amazon and most camera stores.
I just got a Domke F2 bag. I think I just need to properly break it in. Coming from Peak Design Messenger. Constantly searching for the perfect bag. Seeing all your gear in a pile inside the bag blew my mind though, not gonna lie! I'm amazed that nothing is scratched of broken with it all rattling around in there. Interesting!
Same as CraigSmithviking. Good for charged batteries and bad for veteran batteries that have done their duty. Not likely but possible. Memory cards. I assume you have a card wallet and keep it in a pocket. Other possibilities are vibrations or ideas. Maybe a list of less expensive petrol stations you use while traveling to gigs. Least likely are stock tips. Was at the local camera shop a week ago and started talking with a BIF guy purchasing a bazooka telephoto lens. He does 2nd shooter on weekends to supplement his teaching salary. I recommended your channel to him. Turns out he is already subscribed. Despite being a Nikon shooter I knew there was something I liked about him. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Hi Kevin! Thank you for all your videos. So you stated that you never use flash for any of your weddings? I hate using flash would love to get this device you have and use that instead. Thank you.
I love the idea of not using flash but am so curious as to how. I find when I bump the iso in low light my Fuji files get really muddy and lose sharpness. I am shooting on xt5s for weddings and am always tempted to move to full frame after each wedding
Good batteries/bad batteries. I've used Domke bags since Jim was stitching them himself. I wish I still had that first F2, but alas, it was replaced by a new Domke many years ago.
Yes, I have the GFX 100S. It's not in my bag though as it never leaves the studio. I don't need an upgrade to the 16-55 but I think for those looking to buy one, it's a much better option now it's so much lighter and smaller.
@@kevin_mullins Hmm.......... thanks for reply. Love your channel BTW. Had the x100f and sold it. Regret it of course! Want it back but GFX 50R appeals!
That Manfrotto Lumimuse looks very interesting. Reviews on B&H say it can be a bit too bright and not to shine it into people eyes? Can it be too bright, even at the lower brightness setting?
Good/Bad are probably for batteries. Do you still swap much now though? Personally I ascribe to the rubber-band-wrapped-means-charged system, but it is very very slightly fiddly.

I’m clearly not the first person to suggest this; but I reckon good is for fresh batteries and SD cards, bad for full/depleted.

6:34 did you confuse the viltrox 27 with the Fuji 27 here? The viltrox 27 is definitely not a fun compact lens lmao
I think its a fun lens and maybe not as small as the original Fuji 27, it's pretty small compared to other lenses around that focal range.
I love the idea of not using flash but am so curious as to how. I find when I bump the iso in low light my Fuji files get really muddy and lose sharpness. I am shooting on xt5s for weddings and am always tempted to move to full frame after each wedding
The Lumimuse is what I use.

Good and Bad batteries. Yes, My old Domke (smaller and well worn black) will go on forever as it has since the mid-80's.
The good/bad is probably for batteries. Thanks for the walkthrough, interesting to see the use of 2 bodies 2 lenses setup, always ready to shoot.

Fresh and used up batteries in good and bad! 😂
This year I bought a Billingham bag.
Very good bags. I've had a few during my time.
Batteries! Good= charged , bad= dead
good and bad are of course for the batteries and maybe for a cheeky snack bar
I know they're less practical but do you still use GFX medium format?
Yes, in the Studio only.
