As someone who doesn’t follow wrestling at all, WWE not being a combat sport has pushed me away from NCAA wrestling.
It was only once I started training MMA and jiu jitsu that I really respected the wrestlers. The number of matches they compete in, the cardio + scramble, and the grappling knowledge are huge strengths.
I’ve started watching a lot of wrestling now and it’s definitely helping my ground game.

My 2 favorite wrestlers. They are both insane in their own ways. Nick is like a top notch predator everything is fast and calculated . Austin is just straight up crazy. The top predators know they can catch him but they are all nervous about him and would rather go after anyone else

I only wrestled when i was like 8,9 years old and that was like 20 years ago, but these two have rejuvenated my passion for the sport! Fun to watch!

That’s such a whack call at the end. If they can both walk away and shake hands at the end no team points should be deducted. So many whistles going off they have to make sure the match is over. Amazing match

Yeah I don't like the end call either, even tho suriano is a gritty wrestler there 100% wasn't any malice. I didn't even know the match was over till I rewinded 3 times and looked at the clock.

@@patrickranes9998 I agree. I see why they think that, but if you look at it his arm is not deep enough to punch. Further more a punch from a wizzar position is going to be a REALLY weak punch, and I don't see a single reason why Suriano would have risked a dq from Big 10s, which basically means he wouldn't move on to nationals.
I really don't have any clue why they took team points away from either of them.

Both wrestlers committed misconduct after the match had elapsed while still in the mat area. Unsportsmanlike conduct penalties were the correct call. These penalties take away team points, but do not alter the proper outcome of the match.
I just like how the mic quality isn’t the best so when they scream it makes it even funnier

Came for the "pulled off each other" part but watched the entire match. I only started watching wrestling yesterday and it's so much more interesting than other sports.
I recommend watching some Kyle Dake vs David Taylor. They have some great matches in college. Jordan Burroughs is a good watch as well.

Suriano cannot evade like this. I didn't really agree with it then, but seeing it again, he should have understood , after giving up the first point,to get moving...but he still didn't react, or act.
Its been a long time since i wrestled but that looked like 2 guys getting after it and the refs made a big damn deal outta nothing or was that just me? I mean they arent out there picking flowers right? I didnt see either one punch or bite one another but the clock ran out and i see like 5 refs and bunch of coaches freaking out stopping 2 guys from shaking hands that just earned each others respect in what looked like a great match. Did i miss something?
Yeah I'm with you on that. Sometimes in the heat of competition things look aggressive but they are just pouring their heart out to win. They should've let them shake hands.

I’ve watched this video a dozen times and searched through half the comments and still don’t know what the hell happened at the end of the match that made them have to be pulled off of each other, can someone explain?
Everyone making a huge deal out of this. Like relax, they got a little carried away and kept wrestling after the whistle, it's not like they were about to throw hands, but everyone else acted like they were.
