XDefiant Easy Unlock Flashbang Challenge - Eliminate 20 Enemies Suffering from Status Conditions

I've experimented with a few things to help me quickly complete the Flashbang challenge in XDefiant that requires you to kill 20 enemies suffering from status conditions. In this video I'll show you what is needed to put status conditions on enemies and do this challenge even with that starting character that doesn't have anything unlocked.

Tried it. Didn't make a difference.
I'm going to revise that first reply as it may be the game not registering them. It now does seem to work, but I have all the device challenges completed. It could have taken many of the ones I wanted for the flash bang and added them to the sticky.
