I think this is the best video on this topic. Many videos tell you to touch the "tip" of your tongue to the alveolar ridge. I kept trying that and it really hindered my speech. Now after watching this video when I use my tongue blade, my speech got really clear and I no longer get stuck while speaking. Thank You, Emma.
Yeah, depending on the accent SOME people use the tip of the tongue, but really, I find the vast majority of speakers (from the UK) use the blade. It's far easier to then give you that "poof" of air that you need for the t :)

When I teach "t" and "d" sound, I say to my students that "your teeth should touch eachother for a milisecond." This is what I feel when I produce t or d. Do you agree ? I personally don't make them dental, but some people do. It depends on the speaker, really.

We don't use the flap t in the middle of words in British accents :)
