I just bought a new geopro and I'm needing one bad because lord have mercy this thing was expensive 😂. The dehumidifier is money well spent. I like this one and your review! Thanks 😊
These units were on sale at Walmart last year. I bought three, and all of them work fine. Pulls about a gallon a day out of my home in the Poconos. I keep one in my RV bathtub. I haven't figured out how to use the cellphone link.
I'm of the impression you won't need the hose if you're placing it in a sink or tub, simply because it drains into the fixture. Perhaps I'm wrong. Good video.
Thank you. Probably could go either way. The condensate is slightly colored usually so it could leave a trail in shower pan if outlet of dehumifier isn't directly over drain.
I just ordered one for a basement apartment. Amazon had an open box special I hope it's not damaged . In winter time I see people running Mr Heater in their RVs which makes lots of condensation and this would get rid of that problem
This is a good review, thank you for the video. We are taking delivery of our first RV, a Brinkley Z3610, next week and trying to get geared up. There is a lot of stuff needed. This is now going on the list.
Congrats! Beautiful rig. This dehumidifier will be perfect for it and will help keep moisture from building up, prolonging it's life and lessening all the expansion and contraction with moisture. Hope the delivery goes smoothly for you.
@@AdventureRockswell just found out that the only one they have right now is a returned unit. Sorry man but thank you! Could be they updated with next years model.
1,500 square feet. Seems like overkill for most RVs. It would be nice if there was a D.C. dehumidifier so you could run it off the batteries without having to go through the inverter when in storage (assuming solar to keep the batteries charged). EVA-DRY has a 12 volt model, but you have to order the 'cigarette adapter' separately. Otherwise there are desiccant and rotary desiccant dehumidifiers that might work. We use an always on dehumidifier in our crawlspace with the tube going down into the sump. Before we got it the copper pipes would sweat, creating green lines on the floor, but no issue since we got the dehumidifier.
Great question. One thing I find with dehumidifier sq ft ratings provided by the manufacturer is that often times they are wishful thinking and overly optimistic. Surprisingly in the South, a unit of this size in the peak of summer humidity, will be running almost non-stop in a larger fifth wheel like mine to keep humidity under 50%. The big culprit is RVs aren't sealed very well so there's opportunity for that humidity to leak in through slides, vents and other penetrations. The dehumidifier is almost like a Band-Aid in many ways.
Does it have a mode where it will automaticly start when it senses AC on it AC-in? I ask because I want to use it with smartplugs that are controlled by a hourly tarif.
Mine defaults to last mode/settings upon power failure or disconnect/reconnect. Seems to have a memory. I'd imagine same for smart plug scenario, but haven't tested that myself.
Will damp raid and/or ventilation help as I have 90% humidity for 3-5 days at time with 8% give or take per a day. Only like 1-3 days that are less than 80% before it starts all over again for more than 3 month a year. This is my out door humidity. Or should I just get a dehumidifier ?
I think given how high the humidity is that you've mentioned a dehumidifier is going to be your best bet if you want to get rid of the humidity altogether. The silica stuff is probably more effective at lower levels of humidity.
@@AdventureRocks Ok ty. I did 2 of of the large tubs last session and I though they wer faulty as they turned to brick in less than 5 weeks and didn't seem to prevent missive amounts of the humidity.
Does it auto shut off (fan and compressor) when the set humidity level is reached? I’ve been researching and the regular models made by this manufacturer always have the fan running even when humidity level is reached. Just seems like a waste of energy.
Yes, mine shuts off when the desired humidity level is reached, and then it'll cycle on periodically to check the current level. There is a fan mode you can enable that keeps the fan on 100% of the time, but like you said, that seems like a waste of energy, and probably only useful for folks that are in extreme humidity and want some additional circulation perhaps. But again, mine functions as expected and the fan cuts off when the humidity level is reached.
@@AdventureRocks thank you. It’s odd their other units are always running even when set humidity is reached. I’ll be looking into this model. Thank you

Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds AP and WIFi will appear on the screen, use the app to pair it.

The dehumidification will more than makeup for the heat it emits.

@@Captain-Awesome no worries, it's a good brand so if you can find a similar one should work great

How do you maintain this model? No filters? Thanks.
There are two washable filters kinda like mesh screens that slide in on opposing sides. That's pretty much it.

Does the app work when i am far away from home?
As long as the dehumidifier is connected to Wi-Fi then app will work anywhere in the world essentially.
