    My blade on my right shoulder when I do a snow angel type of movement with my shoulders u can clearly see when viewing my back that it moves fluidly up to a certain range and then it skips an inch or two, then moves fluidly the rest of the way, then it repeats every time the same way. I notice that my shoulder muscles feel kinda bad when on certain chest press movements, even when I'm careful not to go past the plane of my body, like doing them on a bed, etc so i'm likely on the dysrhythmia scapular dysfunction.

    How would you treat scapular dyskinesia?

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't focus too much on it anymore too be honest and rather focus on general strengthening of the scapula region as research shows that the outcome regarding shoulder pain is the same as with a focus on changing kinematics.
      If you really want to improve scapular kinematics, then you'd have to apply a motor control programm.
      Evidence, however, is mixed as to if we are able to change kinematics at all or not.

    My doctor told me to google this he thinks I may have it. Can you get this from learning handstands? He didn’t do any of hear test on me with dumbbells either maybe I should show him this video next appointment.

      Reliability is still relatively low and there are a lot of people (especially overhead athletes) with scapular dyskinesis.
      Nothing to worry about if you don't have shoulder pain as it seems to be a negative prognostic factor for shoulder pain in the elite level athlete population only. Continue your handstands - nothing wrong getting strong!
