Thanks for sharing these instructions. It was a bit different for my older Sony Smart TV (KDL-70520A)...but the concept is the same. Make sure your TV is connected to your network, make sure your laptop has Miracast, On the TV, got to Inputs and select screen mirroring, then add your TV to your laptop as a wireless device.

Mandar, I would suggest to try a Wifi dongle like - Anycast for that. Believe me I had such a hard time figuring how to screencast my iphone on to the same TV & in the end I tried Anycast dongle and it worked. Excellent video mate!!!!! Only thing ill say though is it appears that this system itself isnt great. Following all your steps everything went fine, except my laptop simply "couldn't conect". After confirming id done everything correctly i simply tried "Add a device" repeatedly, & after 4 or 5 attempts it finally worked!. Hi Rogerio, I looked for the specs of your TV on - specsen.com/televisions-sony/sony-kdl-32ex525/ & looks like your TV supports DLNA ( Digital Living Network Alliance ), What this means is , you can use a 3rd party device which will be a WiFi device, one end of this device gets into TV USB and other end gets into TV HDMI. Once such device is "Anycast Dongle".I was able to screen mirror my iphone to Sony TV using Anycast Dongle. Yes, thats the whole idea because when you are extending the screen on to the TV, you have 2 screens. So you open a movie & then drag it on to the TV screen & keep working on the laptop.
Frankly, I am not sure sure of the Miracast compatibility on a lot of products. If your laptop has Miracast and the TV has all connectivity capacity, it should work

Hi Tilak, well frankly I am not sure what could be wrong. If your TV and laptop are both connected to the Wi-Fi it should appear. I had issues in the start as well, however it worked after multiple tries.

I had the same problem with my Sony Tv and tech support was clueless. I did manage to figure it out on my own ( only after hours and hours of trying possiable solutions). The Key is IF you are using any web browser on your computer (with your computer being a non apple brand) The computer WILL NOT cast to Your TV UNLESS you are using a google chrome browser. Once you download Google Chrome Browser to your computer you should be able to cast to your tv.
I'm done with all the steps but at the end my laptop says "Couldn't Connect" and on my Bravia TV it has a note "Registration Failed". Is the problem on my hardware? Midhun, I would suggest you go through t he procedure once again because the model you mention supports miracast so it shouldnt be a problem. As far as the connectivity goes, yes I faced the same issue. It took quite an amount of time to connect
I'm having sometrouble with this. Searching for devices doesn't not give me my TV. I'm even able to connect with the TV's Wi-Fi as if it were a regula wi-fi, but with no connection to the internet

Hi, well first things first, are you making sure that your laptop and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi ? because thats what I have seen is required in most of the screen mirroring attempts, also I have to agree that even my mirroring was unstable when I did that, what is the error message you get

Rajesh, I have seen a few people getting this error because their TV & laptop are not connected to the same Wi -Fi. so once the method that seems to get us this connectivity is, connecting both TV and the laptop to the Wi -Fi first, I would suggest just go through the video once and see if you missed any step.
My Acer Aspire laptop says "miracast unavailable" ... can I install drivers to enable it? if so where do I get them? Dimitri, I really dont know if downloaded drivers can work but then trying will do no harm, well Wi-Fi direct is more like using Wi-Fi directly on your TV on apps like Netflix,Skype etc. But yes, You can screen your phone using some apps, for example I used an app to screen my iPhone on my Sony Bravia, but then the screening was limited to media like Songs,Video, MP3 stuff, entire phone was not screening. There is a different way to screen your entire phone. George I am really not sure why the TV is not connecting to your Wi-Fi , could be a bandwidth issue or something else because i see the model you mentioned is W-Fi ready.. so you get the network error after the TV scans the Wi-Fi shows it and when you try to connect you get the error ?

I am succeeded in getting mirrored screen on my tv from the laptop. but I am getting a lag of movement of mouse and keyboard.

I am sure there would a way, I am guessing via HDMI to HDMI or VGA to HDMI cable because most of the laptops these days have a HDMI port.

Hi, this is only for Sony Bravia Smart TVs or it will work for Sony Bravia LCD TVs also?

I had the same problem with my Sony Tv and tech support was clueless. I did manage to figure it out on my own ( only after hours and hours of trying possiable solutions).
The Key is IF you are using any web browser on your computer (with your computer being a non apple brand) The computer WILL NOT cast to Your TV UNLESS you are using a google chrome browser. Once you download Google Chrome Browser to your computer you should be able to cast to your tv.

I'm done with all the steps but at the end my laptop says

I've been trying to do the same but sadly it after hitting connect, the tv shows preparing screen mirroring and then the pc shows couldn't connect. Mine is a Sony Bravia - 32w562d and I have a win 10 laptop.
Midhun, I would suggest you go through t he procedure once again because the model you mention supports miracast so it shouldnt be a problem. As far as the connectivity goes, yes I faced the same issue. It took quite an amount of time to connect

I'm having sometrouble with this. Searching for devices doesn't not give me my TV. I'm even able to connect with the TV's Wi-Fi as if it were a regula wi-fi, but with no connection to the internet
The connection is intermittent initially,but if the TV doesnt connect to the WiFi, this mirroring wont work at all.

Hi, well first things first, are you making sure that your laptop and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi ? because thats what I have seen is required in most of the screen mirroring attempts, also I have to agree that even my mirroring was unstable when I did that, what is the error message you get

Julian, yes, I have streamed an entire movie once using a HDMI cable from my laptop to the TV & it was nice, absolutely no lags.

well wireless gives more flexibility, and in case you missed it, this wireless method gives you additional screen to work with..

Rajesh, I have seen a few people getting this error because their TV & laptop are not connected to the same Wi -Fi. so once the method that seems to get us this connectivity is, connecting both TV and the laptop to the Wi -Fi first, I would suggest just go through the video once and see if you missed any step.

My Acer Aspire laptop says "miracast unavailable" ... can I install drivers to enable it? if so where do I get them? Also surely there is a way to do it via the "wifi direct" feature on my Sony Bravia TV? I can stream my Samsung phone to the TV via the Sony Blu Ray player I have ... perhaps if I use that? Help would be appreciated!!
Dimitri, I really dont know if downloaded drivers can work but then trying will do no harm, well Wi-Fi direct is more like using Wi-Fi directly on your TV on apps like Netflix,Skype etc. But yes, You can screen your phone using some apps, for example I used an app to screen my iPhone on my Sony Bravia, but then the screening was limited to media like Songs,Video, MP3 stuff, entire phone was not screening. There is a different way to screen your entire phone. Let me ping you both of my videos on that.

George I am really not sure why the TV is not connecting to your Wi-Fi , could be a bandwidth issue or something else because i see the model you mentioned is W-Fi ready.. so you get the network error after the TV scans the Wi-Fi shows it and when you try to connect you get the error ?
