365 days I crewed on sailboats from San Diego, USA all the way down to Panama, stopping in Mexico and Costa Rica. After Panama crossing the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand stopping at islands like the Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia, Tonga and Fiji
45 days I traveled through New Zealand from the Northernmost point to the Southernmost point, then
100 days I traveled by motorbike through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, then
365 days I traveled in my self-built campervan from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, then

180 days I built an off-grid log cabin in the woods in Spain, then
180 days I restored an old sailboat in Guatemala, then

It takes a lot of courage to be responsible in life. A career in Law is something you just don't abandon in a country like Colombia where making a living is so difficult. I just hope that they will be back together once education is completed.

Daniela you did the right thing, I did the same thing 50 years ago. I’m 70 right now I took my sabbatical and spent a year in LA, I never regret getting my major in Medellin Colombia, I am also lawyer, keep studying English all your life

Huub you're hard work, determination and positive attitude are what keep me coming back. I usually don't start watching other channels when I find one I like. I like to watch Sailing into Freedom, so I wasn't looking for another sailing show. I'll occasionally check out another one, which is how I came across yours. Love the videos.

With your paint stripping, get a 5 or 7 8nch sander polisher with clear and strip discs. These are like nylon scourer on steriods.
They will remove paint quickly, a d are not aggressive as a grinding/ coarse sanding disc.
Such a nice heart and soul story, with all the work to refurbish the boat!

Oh no, you put a screw in with a “regular” screwdriver, your boat will explode now. So many people use a power driver that it’s utterly ridiculous. They put the smallest screw they can find in with the biggest driver they can find and then wonder why they have stripped threads all the time. I can’t tell you the last time I saw someone putting in a screw with just a screw driver.

Huub, why did you purchase a damaged catamaran? Did you have the hull inspected ultrasonically? If it were my boat, I would double check all the key structural members and the hull ultrasonically. Composites are known to hide defects very effectively. I worked for an aerospace company that inspected every composite part after manufacture in several ways. Those hidden flaws can be fatal.
Hubb should find his next GF from Venezuela or Haiti so she has no where to escape to.

Hello from joburg really enjoying the journey. Was wondering about the trellidoor on the cabin entrance, not something you normally see on a boat, then saw Durban written on the stern and it all became clear 😊 also the unique south African electric sockets inside
What type of battery are you using for the inverter? Lead acid can only be drained to 50%.

For large cables buying and cutting jumper cables is a lot cheaper
