How I built a Roll Over Jig/Rotisserie for the MK1 Rabbit Project

  • I needed a roll over jig to get to the underside of the rabbit to clean all the undercoating and get it as neat as possible before going to the sandblaster. After a bit of research and getting a few tools I dove right in. It's not the prettiest but it works well!
    Purchase List:

Costed me $265 with local pick-up.
My Pivot point was 41.5" off the ground. Depending on how long your distance is to the bumper mounts these numbers can fluctuate. But mine was about 12". Check on CAD to be sure I recommend.

When you are welding your torch angle isn't correct. You should do a maximum of a 10° push and minimal puddle manipulation. Your settings also do not seem to be correct. Those tack welds are too cold and not properly fused in (setting for tacks is supposed to be hotter than welding) also when welding square tubing what you should do is tack weld the corners so you can actually get a decent weld bead across.
