Hi, I tried the link but the page isn't available. I'm a relative beginner and would love to fully understand layers. Please can you give me a link to the layers course 🙏
Wow amazing tutorial, teaches us more in five minutes than tons of videos out there that are 20+ minutes long! Subbed!
Great, thanks for all the excellent explanations.
Excellent explanation, Colin! Thank you very much! - This is very simple, yet powerful.
Absolutely brilliant, thank you!
That was great and I never knew it. So glad you did the tutorial on this subject.
I finally understood that the “This layer” hides and “Underlying layer” shows. I always struggled trying to get the results I wanted. Thank you for another great video!
Same here - I'm totally with you - this is why I, too, struggled with Blend If. What a simple way to describe the use of THIS LAYER vs UNDERLYING LAYER - the wonder is why no one has ever explained it that way. Even Colin doesn't go out of his way to emphasize that simple fact, rather mentions it rather casually. Hahahah I suppose because it's such a revelation to me I think he should have really made it a big deal in the tutorial. I do like his tutorials.
Bro your one comment cleared all my doubts about blend if
Great tutorial and well explained.
Stunning features, I did not even know of. Thanks for the very informative video!
Good morning. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
Hi Colin, excellent. I use blend modes allot when creating references for my paintings.
I have not tried this! Thank you so much!
Thanks. I had never been able to grasp that part about splitting the triangles until now.
Thanks Colin, this is the best demo of ‘blend if’ I have seen thus far.
Totally cool - thanks, Colin!!
Very good Colin, I didn't know how to do that!
Thank you! I am going to try this.
Great Tip. Thanks for the education!
Hi Colin I regularly use blendif but I never tried blendif on both layers at the same time... great tip that I will use thank you!
Great Tutorial. Love the way you take the time to slowly demonstrate and explain.
Thanks
Woah!! Amazing! Thank you so much!! 🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏
thank you mate really appreciate it
You explain everything so well and understandable
Thanks
We always learning something new from your videos! You're a fantastic teacher and mentor! Greeting from Greece!
Thanks :)
Wow! That was extremely useful! Thank you so much! :)))
Intelligent application of blend if.
Blend of is one powerful and very useful tool! Thanks Colin.
It is :)
Nicely done.
Excellent example really nice👍
This was great!
Thanks, I learned a lot.
Very clever Colin. Never seen this done before.
Yay, glad it was helpful
Thank you....first time really understanding blend-if...great tutorials...always watch
Glad I could help
Fantastic, Colin! I use blend if quite often but I haven't used it as effectively as the way you did in this tutorial. This will open a whole new dimension for me!
Yeah, its useful
WOW WOW WOW as always.....
Colin it goes without saying whenever you watch a tutorial of yours you are going to learn something thank you for putting your experience through the screen for us all to see much appreciated.
Thanks for the kind words
It's Magic!!! Great little video with a huge impact on ability.
Glad you like it!
Great !! Thank you Sir!!!!
Incredible, Thank You Colin,
Photoshop never ceases to amaze me,
Only problem is, trying to remember all these amazing tips.
Yup, there is a lot to remember :)
Thank you so much! One sentence you said made it all clear, finally! That by moving the sliders on the chosen layer, parts of the image will be 'pushed to the back'...
I’m glad it all makes sense to you now
Worth watching
Blend If is a challenge for me. Someday I might get a grasp.
I definitely learnt something! just bought the course :)
Thanks!
Very easy .... thanks
Wow! Extracting is one of the most time-consuming and frustrating tasks in PS. If I can get around extractions with Blend If, this is a huge game changer. Thanks, Colin. I can't wait to try this!
Thanks, enjoy it
Blend if is one of the tools that I just can’t wrap my head around for some reason. And it’s a shame as it is such a powerful tool. Thanks for trying to educate me!
Excellent..
I've used blendif many times and it generally only gives good results if there is good contrast between the images you wish to remove and those you wish to retain.
Sometimes using blendif and then applying layer masks to remove awkward areas can be a decent work around.
Awesome video
Amazing
I have never quite understood blend if, but I am clearer now
now i understand better how to use those blend options
Thank you, Colin! We use BlendiFF a lot more now because selections in PS are still not easy to make and they leave halos you have to fix. We will prep a file before using BlendiFF so the sliders are more efficient And the absence of halos makes BlendiFF faster for us when we can use it.
How do you prep a file?
@@leniehulse1621 Top file: fill all extraneous image parts with white that are not needed for the cut out.
✍🙏u make it simple to educate.
very different!
awesome as always... but I'm wondering if you could explain how to properly use the Blend If: Red, Green, Blue versus just the gray?
If you want to cut out based on color vs tones. Good for sky, green screen and stuff
Great! I assume this will only work with high contrast pictures ?
It has its limits. You can also use the color Chanel options
I've done something similar to blend the moon in photos 📷👍
Sometimes we have a brain block. I always used either this layer or underlying layer and never thought of using both.
ખૂબ સરસ
Dear Colin, what if after buying the course I have some doubts? Is there anywhere where to ask for explanations? Thank you very much, best wishes from Uruguay.
Yes, we have great support over at PhotoshopCAFE.com
👍👍👍
What about a layer that has r,g,b,. not just grey
Sorry if I don't think this is extracting. If I extract, I have a separate object that can be used in multiple ways. This is a great tip and effect, but of limited use. In the right situation can be wonderful, just not an extraction.
This is using 2 exact images that would work for this though. Secondly, if you were to move either one of those images this would look terrible!
