I interpreted this as: The dragon took the water in the first place because humanity was treating them bad, and finally gave it back when at least one person showed them true kindeness
This was satisfying in every way. The animation was imaginatively done. The entire production was executed in a manner that drew me in and paced in a way that kept me wanting more. Most importantly, the story had a beginning which presented the situation, a middle that described a possible solution- but quickly illustrated how selfishness and greed would prevent the solution from happening, and then an ending that showed that love and sacrifice would benefit everyone.
I don’t think it was about selfishness and greed. Rather, it seemed to be about blind fear and the cruelty that results from it. The boy was the only one who looked past his fear to see who she truly was, and she became the rain out of gratitude to repay him.
You forgot one thing , How they represent our Arab culture and our dress in animation. Frankly, I would like to see it as a complete Arabic series, like the story of Aladdin
@@_Iscreammy I ask, what part of this video when the villagers were trying to catch the legendary made you think "cruelty"? Cause from I had seen, it seemed more like fear, and desperation. The video at the begging showed that ther Village was quite low on water. They were afraid of the creature, but they also needed it since it could create water. At best you can aguee that the creatures treatment was crueal. But also what did you expect from people who been raised on stories presenting it as an dangeroes monster?
Amaryllis is actually the name of a small genus of flowering bulbs, with two species what look's very similar with the flower on this animation. Good job/good animation 👌👍

This is beautiful and a good metaphor for why we shouldn’t negate the purity of a child. Teaching children toxic nature, discrimination, or political nonsense at such an early will destroy their purity.

Independent artists and studios always make such beautiful content. This is what viewers can have with patience and understanding on our side, actual heart from the artists side, and the lack of “we must make piles of cash” from the producers.
The kid reminds me so much of Darwin from Tawog as a human. This animation is truly beautiful and the music is perfect for every scene ❤ It remains my favorite animation to this day
What a beautiful animation i've ever seen. Right now this stuck inside my head tbh. Still one of my favorite short animation on my list! I feel like I wanna watch all over and over again! The story behind the short film that I watched is about a boy named "Rhodo" and the water dragon who lives in the mountain near the oasis. Also, I feel bad for her after she got rinsed by a bunch of hypocrite villagers. However, Rhodo still believes that he had friends with her. The village becomes a very beautiful place surrounded by flowers of Amaryllis in the end!
By the time i was born(1994) there was quite a lot of this art. Focuses more on the individual, you feel every last moment the main character goes through. It's so satisfying that human element.
Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL work! This was an absolute marvel to watch! Really the only gripe with it I have is a personal one, which is the inclusion of the stereotypical "Humans don't understand something and try to imprison/destroy it, claiming it is dangerous" cliche, but other than that, PERFECTION!
love that in a drougt the peoples first thought in finding a water spirit is :V kill it!!!! if we cant have water no one can!!!!! its just funny to me. so over the top and ridiculas.... good animation though.
А ведь могло бы быть, что это девочка (кто она кстати, дух тумана, дух воды?)могла бы обидеться и на подругу и на людей вообще и пойти мстить, а она не стала. Только вот при этом она похоже поняла, что быть собой, как сущностью (вот этим конкретно духом) и при этом жить в мире с людьми она не сможет, поскольку они будут её бояться и не смогут принять. Поэтому она развоплотилась, рассеялась, стала дождём и дала жизнь множеству растений, которые уже не предадут её. И при этом она оживила эту долину, эту пустыню, чтобы показать людям, кто она на самом деле. Красивая история. И актуальная и при этом без ожидаемого прямо-таки хэппи энда, который оказался бы не реалистичным. Большое спасибо.

Super cute and interesting story, but only I realized that the drought was so bad that even the boy's cactus... THE CACTUS... died due to lack of water
There are 2 kinds of humans: the ones that try to understand, the other that try to destroy that they don't understand. Those that are merciless deserve the same, same for those who are kind deserve kindness in return... it's why it's important humans need to try to understand, otherwise they won't be able to recover from a situation they *could've* survived if they had shown mercy instead.
This was epic. The only thing that kind of saddens me is the fact that the boy befriended her and the rest of the villagers attacked and captured her. The boy freed her and she repaid the kindness he had shown her by restoring water and life to his village. That means all the other villagers get to enjoy the benefits of his being kind while they were cruel.
the music goes as well as possible with the farewell between the girl and the disguised dragon between people threatening him. The end just looks and sounds great
@@sammerzimmer _Ever Oasis_ is the name of the game. It's actually produced by the creator of the Trials of Mana series, and made by the people who ported the Zelda games to 3DS.
Perhaps someday, when the people recognize how the dragon has done good deeds and give respects to her, she might return to see her world and her friend flourish.
I never gave credence to the usage of CGI for the medium of 2D animation, but I must be ademant for the continual usage of the software for such medium as the beauty attest via this animation proves it's virtuous quality for the work it present!
