Though now I guess he's going more into the competitive / 3D printed nerf market ? I don't know. But it'll be pretty exciting to see like a Flypoint review from him.
@@b1clanker12 I think the community made competitive/3D printed blasters will still be a rare review for him. I think he’s only gonna review them when they draw a lot of attention, and have a proven track record like the OOD Jupiter and The Spring Thunder. Coop knows his audience, he won’t go to far outside of that comfort zone, but he has more power to give the creators exposure then anybody else, so when it does happen it’s awesome.
Great review for Captain Slug's Caliburn! If you were to try full-lengths, the ones that come with the Nexus Pro work pretty well. But as you said, half-lengths are where it's at. - Perry
Regularly inspecting you nuts is sound advice, both in foam flinging and health. Also: The Caliburn takes different power springs, so you can tune it to the FPS allowed at your games.
Slug is a great guy and a top designer in the hobby. However, his print quality can leave a bit to be desired (probably something to do with producing so many things so fast). I would like to see you give a Lynx a shot. I would suggest trying Silverfox Industries to purchase one.
my favorite thing about the caliburn is how anything's you can do with it. personal, my build has an elongated brass barrel and a k-26 spring for ultra long range shooting but there are also people that have turned their caliburns into literal shotguns
I built mine almost 2 years ago and it is the greatest blaster ever. So much fun, so powerful, feels amazing, and it was great to print and assemble for a nerd like me. Great review coop!
Tip: If you rather like not feeling pain, you can easily change out the spring for anything roughly the same length and it will work just fine. The caliburn is meant to be HIGHLY modular, and you can even 3D print your own parts like I have if you really want to.
One thing Coop didn't cover is that the caliburn is a multi ammo platform. Remove three pins in the central block that houses the mag well and the whole thing will break in half, per Captain Slug's design. This is so you can swap over to a different front end to use either rival or mega. There's also an optional stock assembly that will let the stock extend about three inches/ 7 cm beyond the example model Coop had. As for those that don't want such a long blaster and are ok with half length darts only, I'd recommend the talon claw, which is a miniature version of the caliburn, shrinking the whole thing by about a third. This also has a bull pup option for fans of that. I've had and enjoyed the 788 version of the 14 inch caliburn that Coop was showing off, and it's 130fps performance was almost taylor made for HVZ play, and that 14 inch barrel (hence the name) sticks out just far enough pass the rest of the blaster after removing the standard muzzle for a SCAR barrel, which will make the blaster almost laser precise.
@@dudepool7530 The Caliburn is the culmination of years of work by Slug. With a scar barrel and short length darts, this thing can and will hit people consistently over 150 feet away. Also, you should definitely get the metal reinforced milan coupler as that is the part that holds the entire blaster together. (I have broken quite a few milan couplers...)
You can tune them down, with weaker springs and making the seals bad. I had a mate that tuned one down to just under 100fps for an event in a shopping center 😉
