@@larnregis I think even in existing spaceships, there's easily ways to have a common frame of reference like a 2D plane to align a formation then the software can figure out the correction needed to roll.

I really, REALLY hated this version of Admiral Cain. Don't get me wrong. I loved the actress, but how they handled the character to me was just awful. I did not shed a tear for that POS when she died.
Bear Mc Creary's "Prelude to War" was an integral part of the build up of tension in this scene but his soundtrack throughout the whole show was just brilliant.
She also played another favourite: Ensign Roe, in Star Trek: TNG. They planned to bring her back for DS9, but declined. That role ended up being replaced with Nana Visitor as Major Kira.
I did not like her because a woman should never be in charge of anything more than a vacuum cleaner, however I agree with what she did, She was watching out for herself and her friends 1st and did what it took to keep her ship flying and fighting and her crew fed.
They do, but a raider jumping that close on purpose would be suicide. The whole fleet jumps are specially coordinated to prevent a disastrous collision event.

Fisk wouldn't know at this point, but suicide wasn't a deterrent to the Cylons with resurrection tech. If it had been a Raider, whether it escaped via FTL or was blown up, the end result is the same: fleet location info gets back to the Cylons. A Cavil actually told a Six to airlock herself in Razor, so that she could provide information to the rest of the Cylons. I always thought a technique that would've worked is having Raiders do close proximity - relatively, not right on top of them - jumps with nukes armed, then launch on arrival. Of course, that would've made the series a bit shorter ;)

The new show’s got a lot to live up to. I was colossally late to the BSG party (first full viewing was last year), but i went through the whole thing in less than a month. Could not put it down. Can only hope the new one is even a fraction as good
@@TheEDFLegacy The Expanse is better in that the quality hasn't wavered . It's been consistently amazing through all 5 seasons. BSG kind of went in the crapper in season 3, once they broke out of New Caprica. It picked up a bit in season 4 but it never matched the quality it had before they escape from New Caprica.
Cain was an awesome character played by a great actor, I would have liked her to stick around for a few more episodes though, after her and Adama decided not to kill each other, see how that story arc would have played out, maybe give her a more heroic ending like the original series.
It's basically like this, metaphorically applied everywhere. Sometimes people need a temporary villian for unity. And look at what they accomplished together after
Caprica would have made a good 6part mini series but it was too jumbled and unfocused to stand as a show. Cylons were interesting but then there was all that monotheism subplot, the matrix, digital avatars, crime family drama, people smuggling, business coups... I just wanted to shout “Pick a lane and stick to it”.
@@mattwho81 True they're a bit all over the place with subplots, the Caprica show would be far better if it follow less characters and not try to explain everything about that Cylon cult, or the root of the Adama family and stick to the reasons and the purposes of the creation of the first Cylons and the people who made them.
Caprica had a good idea but it went to hell quickly. The colonies were a space faring civilisation for hundreds of years but the aesthetics of Caprica were like being in the 50's.
This scene just shows the typical human desire for dominance. The human race is on the verge of extinction and they're still fighting a war of survival with the last 2 remaining Battlestars. But instead of being a unified force they turn on each other.

Then Starbuck a symbol of Archangel Michael after the fall appear in the blackbird a covert ops ship , she communicate with an another angel and get noticed.Then both side see her as an enemy and both side target her. Then she open comm with both side between tell them she is friendly and share with them information that if we follow the symbol will lead both side to team up after they review the intel gathered by the symbol of Archangel Michael. I believe while not sure based on synchronicity and while analysing the symbol of Archangel Michael after the fall. That Michael is backed by Khaos himself. "Some people like Kara Thrace and my vessel can walk the path that unite Light , Darkness and Chaos" Michael
Admiral Cain was excited because she saw the opportunity to begin research on number 6 realdoll research here. She has been lonely ever since Lt. Shaw identified one of them as a spy.
They're thrusters, not jets, and they're space/atmos fighters, hence the innovative attitude jets and the tactics that go with them. If you're going to attempt to nitpick, at least put in the work.

I just love how quickly and elegantly all the fighters stopped "fighting" each other and formed up so beautifully when they detected Starbuck.

Actually, it was later, when she disengaged from stealth mode after she and Apollo had hashed out a plan.
Well yeah, that's when they detected her transmission.
It looked like she jumped the blackbird into that spot. They should have equipped that ship with a transponder that can be turned off as needed.

Bear was a very young musical *genius* when he wrote the musical scores for this television series. probably my favorite tv show soundtracks, *ever.*
The cue at 5:12 isn't something that you can find in the soundtrack but it's still gorgeously done. McCreary really killed it.
